  • Meet GM Chris and then get back to me.

All of his students will agree with me that Chris's stick work hurts. Thanks for the comments.

  • @kayoswoner. I respect your opinion.... But,while ladies are more flexible *in some aspects * than men, a compression itself is based on clamping and grinding on bone, nerves, and in some cases the neck. Master Chris has met many a person that thought they could withstand a compression without tapping, that is, until they feel it and tap. You appear to sound as if you studied this stuff before... You seem to sound pretty knowledgeable about compressions and Eskrima. Your teacher is????

  • Funny how most female martial arts practitioners would NOT get the wrong idea. To see a strong female martial artist being able to take the pain of the compressions and locks (moreso than many men, and I've been on the receiving end of these exact techniques.... it HURTS like heck), and to have the ability to make split second decisions on which way to fall or take the throw so it doesn't break her....that's skill. I guess it depends on "who" is watching the video, on what interpretations are.

  • @rustydj Fantastic comment rustydj.

  • @rustydj they're not even going fast enough to cause pain. they're on mats and as for the compressions and locks females are naturally more flexible than males. and if the person practicing the techniques on her isn't controlling the direction shes falling then thats fail for their martial art. IMO the grunts are just dramatic.

  • This is awesome. my only feedback is that usually when creating instructional videos it's preferable not to use females as the 'opponent' to demo on. People can get the wrong interpretation. Thanks

  • mabuhay!

  • This video would be much more informative without the wonky video F/X transitions and glow titles which only serve to obscure what you're trying to teach. Are you aiming for instruction, or mystification? Techniques look interesting, but are harder to grasp when the technology gets in the way of the instruction.

  • @trombonemunroe Thank you for you comment trombonemunroe. I will pass your suggestions onto the production team.

  • @PaladinPress Thank you for that.

  • Please keep comments intelligent, on topic and constructive.

That means if you do not agree, please offer what you would do differently and why. The value in opposing opinions is that we all can learn even more from constructive discourse. But it must be civil.
