He beat him within two rounds, he had been waiting to win the title for three years, there would be no reason for him to fight Rocky again. But, these are the greatest sports movies of all time, they are fantasies in a way and suspension of disbelief is required.

I wish Rocky 2 had placed as much emphasis on the characters as the original. The sequel should have been titled Rocky 2: Apollo's Revenge. You never really got a sense of what motivated Apollo other than his desire to simply hurt Rocky. For whatever reason, Burt Young was not used as effectively as he had been in Rocky 1. And Talia Shire and Burgess Meredith really didn't have much to do. Stallone forgot that Rocky was more about perseverance and will, than about big budget boxing scenes.
