He wrote in her letter that he 'simply couldn't write anymore songs for her to sing.' That happened for a reason, so respect that. It wouldn't have been very much of a Nightwish if it wasn't for Tuomas. Tarja was the one member of the band who did least. Tuomas wrote all the lyrics and most music, Emppu wrote music, Marco wrote music, Jukka did most of the other things. Tarja??

Now you have misunderstood me, I like both Tarja and Anette. Acutally I have used many hours to defend anette in many situations. I got many friends who listen to nightwish, but unfortuately none of them seems to like anette very much.
Tarja uses her classical singing techniques to sing the songs of Nightwish, however there is little to no opera in them. Nemo, Wish I had an Angel, Planet Hell, Ghost Love Score, etc have zero opera. She is a classical soprano, not an opera singer.
There are Nightwish cds before Once, you know. But of course I agree Tarja is not an Opera singer. How can she be if she hasn't sang in any Opera yet?
I have seen the REAL nightwish 2005 and THAT was awesome. I've also seen some videos of anette performing live, singing wishmaster and it...SUCKED BALLS!!!!!!

Anette can do very well on many Nightwish songs, but on many she can't do well either. Like this one for example. The screaming at the end just doesn't cut it for me, but then again, Marco is screaming too. And so was Tarja, except in a classical singing type manner. Now if Angela from Arch Enemy sang this and screamed at the end (more like death growl) you probably wouldn't like it either.

Well for me, Anette's voice reminds me of Anneke from The Gathering because they sound simliar. but anyway, go buy a ticket and see Anette in concert, and with low and open expectations. I know that on the videos shown of Anette singing, some of them are a hit and miss, and there are days where she does good and she doesn't, but when I went to see her she did really good, and the whole band was on their game that night. on the other hand, I've heard from some fans during certain parts of the London tour that she didn't do well in (forgot city), but did awesome on the Astoria leg of the tour (FISHMASTER!! lol). but just go see for yourself

In general the band did a good job , but her vocals...I´m sorry but are not even close to Tarja´s.Marco had to help her in some parts of the songs... I found their concert really disappointing.... I am a fan of the old nightwish, not a fan of the new one.
Yes unique is the best word to describe the old nightwish... the soul of nightwish is there because of tuomas , but the escense of nightwish was tarja , and unfortunatly ,that is gone forever ...I think that nightwish were really special specially because of tarja/ tuomas duet , together they were amazing! I miss that so much...but at least we have the old records to listen to:)

It is amazing how you people think that you are morally superior to those who like Anette more. Yes i've listened to Nightwish for a while, and i HATE Tarja's version of this song. Phantom of the Opera is not a complicated song to sing, any well trained soprano can do it, it's not even a real opera song. And no, i do not see what you mean, my taste is different from yours.

Now you have misunderstood me, I like both Tarja and Anette. Acutally I have used many hours to defend anette in many situations. I got many friends who listen to nightwish, but unfortuately none of them seems to like anette very much.

Tarja uses her classical singing techniques to sing the songs of Nightwish, however there is little to no opera in them. Nemo, Wish I had an Angel, Planet Hell, Ghost Love Score, etc have zero opera. She is a classical soprano, not an opera singer.

There is no such thing as "real" Nightwish, unless the creative core gets replaced. Therefore what you see here still constitutes as "real". A replacement of a superficial member who brought 0 to the song writing does not constitute as a replacement of the entire band.

I don't like her voice, she has no good range, and can't control her voice well. She kills the other songs, but I do agree her voice sounds better with the new Nightwish songs.

Anete's voice was amazing on Alyson Avenue, simply because this was the music style for her voice type, she has a great voice, but Nightwish music has been always lyrical and unless they change their style, her voice will sound forced and pitchy, which is not fair for her. This is not the place to explode her talent.

Anette can do very well on many Nightwish songs, but on many she can't do well either. Like this one for example. The screaming at the end just doesn't cut it for me, but then again, Marco is screaming too. And so was Tarja, except in a classical singing type manner. Now if Angela from Arch Enemy sang this and screamed at the end (more like death growl) you probably wouldn't like it either.

Well for me, Anette's voice reminds me of Anneke from The Gathering because they sound simliar. but anyway, go buy a ticket and see Anette in concert, and with low and open expectations. I guarantee you that your view of her will change, and you will have a very fun time at the NW concert.

okay fine, so maybe not 100% guarantee. I know that on the videos shown of Anette singing, some of them are a hit and miss, and there are days where she does good and she doesn't, but when I went to see her she did really good, and the whole band was on their game that night. on the other hand, I've heard from some fans during certain parts of the London tour that she didn't do well in (forgot city), but did awesome on the Astoria leg of the tour (FISHMASTER!! lol). but just go see for yourself

I´m sorry, but I went to a nightwish concert with anette and honestly, was exactly what I was expecting, horrible! In general the band did a good job , but her vocals...I´m sorry but are not even close to Tarja´s.Marco had to help her in some parts of the songs... I found their concert really disappointing.... I am a fan of the old nightwish, not a fan of the new one.

Yes unique is the best word to describe the old nightwish... the soul of nightwish is there because of tuomas , but the escense of nightwish was tarja , and unfortunatly ,that is gone forever ...I think that nightwish were really special specially because of tarja/ tuomas duet , together they were amazing! I miss that so much...but at least we have the old records to listen to:)
