Indio fans were asses! Throwing shoes at them...he had a right to be pissed. Crazy crowd is one thing but pelting him in the head with shoes...you loose your fan card!
Kewl!! I used to live in Indio, but I moved before this happened. Story of my life. A day late and a dollar short. *sigh* Pearl Jam forever!! Eddie looks like he misses his hair as much as I do. LoL!
I remember seeing these guy, soundgarden and neil young in toronto at the old exhibition stadium, oh, I guess it was around 93/94, I probably still have the ticket stub somewhere. I was in the mosh pit and got right up to the front of the stage only to realize that i was trapped. Security pulled me over the barrier between the crowd and the stage, I waved to Eddie and went back to find my buddy.
Jesus christ all you guys stop bitching abou how they have changed its their music, they have a right to do whatever the hell they want, and for people who want more albums like ten, you grow up and your views on topics change so it doesent make any sense to write about things you no longer belive in, BUT this song is way better played like this i agree
yeeeahhhh! Thoughts arrive like buttahflies! i recall this show like it was yesterday... driving out from OC, throwing boots along with the crowd, one of the more violent crazy shows. would love to see entire show again... (sloppiest version of Baba O'Reily ever).
matt is great, but dave a. just added that "spice" to pj that was just magical. in my opinion, dave a. was def. the best drummer for pj. jack irons's drumming didn't do anything but bring pearl jam down.
I totally agree with you! Jack Irons isnt even good enough to lick Dave A's cymbals! Woul love to hear how Dave A would play some of the new stuff such as 1/2 Fall, Man of the Hour, Got Some!!
put it this way, these boys started in what the very early nineties, and did theyre thing for about 10-12 years and now you think its cool they just change? if that was what theyre about then surely they still are?
lets look at motorhead for example theres a band been doing the same amazing greatness for the part 35 years, still the same as it was in the 80's. so yep i do expect them to still do it.
Matt Cameron was in Temple Of The Dog back in 1990, and he also recorded a few demos for Stone, Jeff, and Mike back before they picked up Eddie and Dave Krusen. He didn't officially become a member of Pearl Jam until 1998.
@lsnows dude i was at this show and its actually infamous for being one of the craziest mosy unruly crowds in the histroy of pearl jam shows. they WERE going crazy. trust me.
@boogertt - true statement. I was there too. After the hours sitting in traffic, I think everyone had a little too much energy to burn but it was by far one of my best birthdays to date!
Abbruzzese IS God. I love how he took Dave Krusens sound from the Ten album, and rocked the hell out of it. Without a doubt, one of the most underated drummers of all time, and one of my biggest influences. They canned his ass because he wasn't clicking with the guys personally. They wanted to go out, and save the world...he just wanted to play good music. Matt Cameron can't hold a candle to this shit.
Dave abbruzzese is also one of my biggest influences its just sad they fired him, pearl jam used to have a funky groove now its just painful to listen to some songs, Cameron even ruins Jack Irons parts, I dont know how the band cant see what they lost.
your the idiot, they never said he was bad just that abbruzzese is better which he was ! he gave so much more drive and propulsion. he made it fun. nowadays its just middle of the road...
my generation got screwed over music-wise, everyone is to young to know any good music and the exceptions dont get a chance to see any live concerts and have to rely on Youtube, quit complaing about goin back, could be worse. (i am 14 right now)
Pearl Jam es mi banda favorita pero nunca volverá a ser lo mismo sin Dave Abruzzese!!! Interpretaciones cómo ésta lo demuestran. Es el mejor . no hay más.
in my opinion Ten was a far greater album than nevermind, nevermind got most of the glory, but ten was better and it stills holds up as not just the best grunge album, but one of the best rock albums ever
Was at this show... one week after hernia surgery..had the post-op f..ing belt around my waist while all these young f&^%@cks were beatin' the crap out of each other and trying to grab my chicks t&^%#tties. It was awesomes!! P.J. finished in a mud bath of Baba O' Riely (sp?) Great band! Miss you Mum! : )
I was at this show, and am from Indio. I was SO embarassed by the actions of the crowd. Completely pointless. And they haven't been back. But Ed did a great job of turning it all around. "your dirt, is my fucking food".....good shit.
playing behind amps because of the flying shoes. I was at the show and at one point Eddie says fuck it goodnight. then they built a wall out of the cases the stuff is stored in and played behind a wall. then they came back out and did the best version of indifference. was really messed up. do not remember much more then that.
