Wow i am so sorry about the storm in santa cruz , i used to live there when i was younger my family moved alot though... my house was on 1101 broadway street in santa cruz , i miss it alot and i attended delaveaga elematary and bayveiw , oh how i miss it
Thank you so much for posting this....we left 6.5 years ago, to Austin, Texas. I am still kicking myself. The sheer beauty, in any season, always on the tip of the tongue, Santa Cruz.
I lived on the esplande in 1977. just before the big winter storm. Well, the entire area was under 2ft of water. I had moved to Boulder Creek, the rain was worse, it was amazing, '77 was worst rain forever. but at least the house wasnt under 2ft of water. The beaches had huge redwood trees many feet deep stacked on all beaches, especialy the Boardwalk where the San Lorenzo rv enters the Ocean.
@1jpaschal Damn right, don't like it... don't come to my town.

That day was incredible!! I drove all over just watching it all go under. The Capitola wharf/waves were just amazing to see.
Great video, being that it's Aug. 1 and lovely and calm outside...CAN'T WAIT for winter and those storms to come again!!

Watching this just reminds me how smart I was to stay inside in the dark during this storm! It's beautiful on film, but it SUCKED to live through!
