If Ron believes that his point of view is right with respect to congressiional ear marks, he wouldn't let Tim Russert get him all wriled up. Ron Paul needs to learn how to convey confidence and competence in the face of criticism and tough questioning. So far his campaign has been under the radar so he's been able to get away with saying sensational things and now that he's getting lots of media coverage he's going to have to answer for some of his those statements.
Actually, he gets a little frustrated because he has to deal with foolish questions designed to confuse the audience. The earmark question was designed to be misleading, because there was no foul play there, yet it would take a long time for Paul to explain the situation. Do you understand it? I bet you don't, you simply saw that he got frustrated and figured he must've done something wrong.

I would vote for Ron Paul if it didn't mean dismantling the federal government. He's got heart and that's something you don't see in politics too often. I believe that the US should not get involved in needless wars, but I do believe the United States has an obligation to stop things like genocide in other countries. We have the resources and if we can save several hundred thousand people from dying, I don't mind the tax hike.

But, that's the beauty of it all. I think Ron Paul is great because he wants to return to a constitutional federal government, but just because the federal government is lean and mean doesn't mean your state can't regulate the businesses.
It's only constitutional because corporations used the 14th amendment to make it so (corporation=individual). That interpretation of the amendment should be overturned to maintain the purity of the constitution and the spirit of the 14th amendment (to protect the rights of freed slaves).

This is it. This is the real turning point for Ron Paul. I watch this show every Sunday, and I NEVER thought I'd see the day that they all pretty much jumped on board, let alone name Ron Paul as person of the year. Now I'm starting to think that he'll have a fighting chance.

If Ron believes that his point of view is right with respect to congressiional ear marks, he wouldn't let Tim Russert get him all wriled up. Ron Paul needs to learn how to convey confidence and competence in the face of criticism and tough questioning. So far his campaign has been under the radar so he's been able to get away with saying sensational things and now that he's getting lots of media coverage he's going to have to answer for some of his those statements.

Actually, he gets a little frustrated because he has to deal with foolish questions designed to confuse the audience. The earmark question was designed to be misleading, because there was no foul play there, yet it would take a long time for Paul to explain the situation. Do you understand it? I bet you don't, you simply saw that he got frustrated and figured he must've done something wrong.

So I went to my 2 families for Christmas and told them both about Ron Paul. The ones who don't watch much TV had heard he didn't have much of a chance to win. The other family that watches Fox News all the time thought he was a quack. I told each about his views and they each liked them. Its anecdotal, but more evidence that the media decides the winner, not the people.

I would vote for Ron Paul if it didn't mean dismantling the federal government. He's got heart and that's something you don't see in politics too often. I believe that the US should not get involved in needless wars, but I do believe the United States has an obligation to stop things like genocide in other countries. We have the resources and if we can save several hundred thousand people from dying, I don't mind the tax hike.

I don't agree with the Iraq war. But Kosovo was genocide. Europe sat on its hands and did nothing to stop the slaughter. The United States decided to do something and we stopped the genocide and removed Melosovich from power.
Do you really think the world is better off that we did nothing to stop genocide in Darfur? What about Rwanda? If the United States does its homework, chooses its battles wisely, we can do (and have done) great things.

We're not trying to wipe out a group of people. At best we're bungling around with intentions rather than solid planning for a post-war Iraq. At worst, we went to war needlessly for our own interests. We have killed a lot of people, but we're not trying to erase them from the map. Generally, people committing genocide don't have a rebuilding effort afterwards.

I think our government thought Iraq was a threat to America. Was frightened of Iraq in fact. Too much history about Saddam with WMD's and efforts to gain more. Saddam worked to make sure his enemies thought he had them, he HAD had them, and it doesn't take much anthrax to create chaos.

True, we didn't have in place the right stuff to manage the spoils in Iraq after we deposed Saddam. We did what we could fairly quickly, elections and all, and then trusted that the people living there would police their own neighborhoods better than they did. We gave them a good reputation to live up to, and they failed miserably. We didn't fail, THEY failed.

No country wants to wipe us of the map. Most of them own too much of the U.S. to do that. Abu Dhabi owns billions in corporate shares, Saudi Arabia owns 11% of America and I don't even have to mention the $3 Billion China loans us every day.

I want to, but I can't. Honesty and good heartedness goes a long way. But his policy is too extreme. The Constitution stuff is good. I loves me my Constitutional rights. But a weak federal government means a weak America. The failure of the Articles of Confederation and the abject failure of the Confederacy's government during the Civil war should be evidence enough.

Not a weak government in the fact that it can't protect the country from invasion, or its people during wars. It is only meant when referring to its power to oppress its citizens.
The Constitution says that the government's sole purpose is to provide for the defense of the nation and protect the rights of its people.
The People in turn are responsible for a strong economy, which is what made this country so great to begin with.

But, that's the beauty of it all. I think Ron Paul is great because he wants to return to a constitutional federal government, but just because the federal government is lean and mean doesn't mean your state can't regulate the businesses.

It's only constitutional because corporations used the 14th amendment to make it so (corporation=individual). That interpretation of the amendment should be overturned to maintain the purity of the constitution and the spirit of the 14th amendment (to protect the rights of freed slaves).
