@3344utube No, actually Pit Bulls were bred for bull fighting in the 1800s until the 1930s starting in the UK with bull terriers and bull dogs. Pit Bulls have always been bred to be non-human aggressive.

Audition & when they picked him originally wanted to removed the circle. it wouldnt come off so they used him as is & just put a Ring around an eye of each Dog they used
Pete was one of the first registered pit bull terriers. Back then a pit bull was one of the most common breeds. They truly are fun loving and gentle animals. It's a shame the reputation they have today. FACT: Lassie bit his trainer on more than one occasion. Pete never bit anyone, but sadly was poisoned to death.
@schnauzeroo I'm not sure where you got the information that the dog was poisoned. According to a Wikipedia reference for Petey the pub, he died at 16 in L.A. from natural causes:

Animals sense that genuine love and innocence, and they bond with it in some way that's just so unique.
For some reason, dogs and babies are a hit with each other. Ever see the video of the dog playing with the baby, shutting the dresser drawer with his nose every time the baby opened it?
You should hear that baby laugh when the dog does that, it's pure gold.

He passed away about 2 weeks before we were going to Wildwood, NJ to meet him too :-(

I loved that show as a kid on KTLA 5. Got to sleep at my Grandma's house and watch it in the morning. My parents didn't have the big antenna.
