What an afternoon! I was also on the South Bank as Stancliffe put through his own goal. Somehow, I knew he was going to do it even before it reached him...! I remember the the whole ground cheering as Barnsley scored the 5th.
I remember this game! Andy Broughton, 'Judd' Roberts and I went to this match! 5-0 away to Wolves, the only car with red scarves in a sea of 'Old Gold', as Wolves fans like to call it, almost got lynched, listening to The Clash, Sham 69, The Jam and other punk/new wave on Radio 1 on MW, on the way home. Topped it off with a curry when I got home! Best day ever that didn't include sex!
Ah, the good old days! Wish we could produce something of that quality nowadays, but under Davey and constantly dwindling in relegation battles, we haven't got a chance :(
i remember this very well, there was a Barnsley fan that had a st Georges cross with Barnsley written on it,we were about half way up the south bank and this Barnsley fan never shut up he had long dark hair,i will never forget him or this match..i wanted to bloody kill him at the time..any1 else remember him??
i was there as well, pretty sure barnsley never had a corner in the game, despite winning 5 0 .. thanks for posting

I was there on the South Bank that day but not with the flag. I don't think I've ever laughed as long and loud as when Stancliffe notched. Classic
