the jews were trying to decieve and disobey god in many ways, so for their trickery and evil doing god decieved them by turning their plans againist them, or just making them not work. not a very a hard concept, its just like an ambush in a war, one party is decieved thinking they are winning the war destroying and killing as they please, then they get ambushed and killed. who ever has the better brains, better technique, and the better guns wins. and there is nothing or anyone greater than god
