  • wow I thought it was real at first

  • Well funny!!! Deptford draylons mate alright? Not Arf !

  • I'm surprised the original Brentford Nylons advert is not on Youtube.

  • Alright!!

  • Not Arf!

  • You know where!

  • Poptastic, in a kind of 1970's type scenario. I remember Alan Freeman's inspiration for this piece: the Brentford Nylons advert (Alright?..... Not Arf!) and Harry Enfield pays it the ultimate tribute. "Tarquin cold in winter?" -- what a line. Note the tank top, with the DD -- my Auntie May knitted him that. Now that's what I call cool. All right???

Does anyone know where to get Nicey 'n Smashie - End of and Era, on DVD?

  • I've just eaten a whole pack of Toffo's!

Did your Auntie May really Knit the DD tank top?

I searched for 'Smashie n nicey end of an era' on DVD but only managed to find a VHS copy on ebay which I put on DVD. I think it may not have been released on DVD?

  • Phenomenal. Thanks for the reply - for which I will send you a signed copy of the Dave Nice Book of Poems ("Down came the rain, pid padder....").

And remember, the camera never lies, mate. "True, errr airbrushmungously true".
