  • @TheXarecas

    Om Mani Padme Hum

    Om Padma Sanbhava

    Om Dalai Lama

    Om lamatashide

    Om gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha

    Om muni muni maha muniye sakyamuni svaha

  • @SartaiChono do you know what does it mean?

  • @oRelvaz

    Mani, Padme Hum = Jewel, Lotus Hum... which has a referrence to

    Ohm = Generosity

    Ma = Ethics

    Ni = Patience

    Pad = Diligence

    Me = Renunciation

    Hum = Wisdom

    The Jewel and Lotus are the importance of Buddha, Jewel is like the 3 Coloured Basket known as the Sutta Pitaka or also Tripitaka, the 3 baskets also have a meaning, to find refuge in Buddha's Teachings, Sangha (Monks, and community), and the Dhamma (Dharma).

    but this mantra is mostly used in the Mahayana version of Buddhism...

  • @SartaiChono

    Hmm...isn't it so that Om Mani Pedme Hum resembles the hypophysis (3' eye-pearl or jewel) and the heart (lotus, the walls we build around us to protect our 3rd eye or consciousness)? As in saying "I love myself"? As in reminding us who we truly are, a pearl inside the lotus, both, the one of great value, and the other as pure as a living object can be. That's why you have baptism in Christianity, to purify your mind and heart. Or the washing in the Ganges?

  • @eidotevil

    yes it's the 3 pearls, jewels, but you can also name them the 3 baskets, it doesn't matter it's basicly the same thing, we're actually talking about the same matter, this om mani padme hum is basicly from mahayana, also called northern buddhism, tibetans, mongolians and some nepali have this form of buddhism, the tripitaka is an enlightment to read :) i hoped the info helped both of you.
