I went 1 breasted from July-Feb until my 2nd mastectomy (comedocarcinomas that lead to IDC). I made some you tube clips to talk about clothing and self esteem. I really appreciated your video.
Thank you for the comments. Doris, it was a real pleasure to meet you in New York - unfortunately I wasn't able to fit you into the documentary in the end which was a real shame in but I am so glad that you still liked the documentary. I too hope that designers can see the issues you women have opened my eyes too - I will certainly be spreading the message!
I'm Lynne from Libby's film _ I asked her to help because I know her mother Sally, and I was given a copy of her Pink book before I had breast cancer. I initially had a lumpectomy in January 2010, followed by bilateral mastecomy without reconstruction in March 2010. Libby you have done us proud, and than you for taking on this cause which is vital to so many women who simply want to look good and to feel confident in what they are wearing.
Thank you also to David Jay for showing his amazing project...and for his kind words in this documentary...I get choked up just thinking about how I felt, like there was a place that I fit in finally.....thank you for that........Doris
I spoke with Libby Page at the gallery for The Scar Project......what a lovely and kind young woman....thank you for doing this documentary.....it is bringing tears to my eyes watching it......I have a right mastectomy with no reconstruction and it is so difficult to find clothes......not to mention bras or lingerie.......I truly hope that designers open their hearts to this cause and help us who have compromised bodies......
