  • Seriously, I hate people commenting:

"Wow, that's pretty good .. but pollution ...." or "Wow, thats well done .. but human rights ,..." and things like that .. it's fucking annoying! No country is perfect! Every country has it's own problems!

  • capitalist is the best

  • This is amazing (and sad).

  • they need some air purification technology.

  • they can't go on holiday :O

  • it's sort of creepy.

  • huaxi village is the only communist place in china now.every chinese know that.that village fuckin rich !indeed

  • As many as 80% of the villagers have had to get into debt in order to buy a house, while the family of retired Communist Party boss Wu Renbao controls more than 90% of the village's assets.

One of Wu's sons has taken over his former post as Party boss in the village and allmost all leadership positions in Huaxi are taken by family members of the three generations headed by Wu.

Wu's four sons collectively control and manage 90% of the village's assets.

    Utopia my ass...

  • @TrollogyExpert That's total bollocks. The villagers are all solvent, each with salaries in excess of $150k. Each with free housing, free medical care, free transport and freedom to leave. They don't claim to be a utopia, but they are on their way there. It is a social experiment, which in 30 years has always grown economically. The migrant workers, who are not official residents, have better pay and working conditions than they otherwise would have. It is impressive.

  • is that raj from big bang theory translating the chinese into english at 2:15min?? sounds like him lol

  • Awesome!

  • this is the beverly hills of china

  • WTF, this is pure propaganda.

CRI = China Radio International, which is an English-language state media run by the Chinese government.

The entire village has a population of 1,500 and the village is only able to achieve its wealth through the labor of tens of thousands of migrant workers from other parts of China who make $1,000 a year to support the "official residents" of the village.

And the liberals here bought into this propaganda hook, line and sinker.

  • @jaundiceboy

So why people praise Singapore's success... I don' t see there is any big difference... you cannot change the life of all the 1.3 billion people in just 30 years... Population here is larger than all the developed nation's combine... Think about it... You are welcome to China... You will see bad as well as good... Anyway, you will understand the situation there much better...

  • @jaundiceboy Actually non resident workers are not allowed to work in Huaxi or its proximity. Huaxi itself is run solely by its own residents because working in Huaxi means that you will enjoy their benefits, much greater than the rest of China and even most European countries.

  • @jaundiceboy The residents number at about 30,000 and the migrants earn more than the average wage in other parts of their country. Who's propaganda are you listening to?

  • Why would they call it the best city in the world? How is it so great to have one car and work 7 days per week all day? Plenty of people in America work 30-40 hours per week and have a bigger house, go on vacations, take long weekends, have several cars, even a boat or jet ski, etc.

  • @duke1duke1: yes, and plenty of Americans also can't afford to pay for a mortgage. working 2 , 3 jobs, and cant access health care. USA is very unequal society.

  • @duke1duke1 American idustrialization started 150 years ago, China's started 60 years ago and got interrupt by the cultural revolution and great leap forward.

  • working 7 days hell no

  • This is a joke

There are 20,000 migrant workers, working to make the lives of those 2,000 people very comfortable.

So in other words, its 10 people working to make the live of 1 more pleasant, no?

I rather be one of the 30 million riches people in the USA than 1 of the 2,000 of Xuaxi

  • Huaxi...the most boring place on Earth...

  • China is only communism in name. Theres no getting away from the green stuff.

  • and what about brothels in Huaxi?

  • these fools "thought" they have everything... but in fact they have nothing when they loose they freedom. Cannot leave the village? Work 7 days week? Dont they realised they're just slaves in their own home? That's so pathetic an excuse for "rich"..

  • @youtubbag

You're the fool. You only want to leave when you have dissatisfaction with something that you need somewhere else. Why would they have dissatisfaction? Their quality of life and level of living is in the top .01% in China. They don't value the same things you value. They have comfortable lives, healthy families, material comforts. Stop assuming that every person in the world has the same values system and wants the same things you want. Try traveling a bit.

  • @Wisefish99

FYI... I've indeed traveled to more than 15 countries (and still going for more)... So it seems like you're very satisfied with this kind of life huh... enough said, it's clear who's the fool who have not been travelling and thinks that is quality of life... *sigh*.

Note: not trying to be arrogant but merely stating the sad fact.

  • fuck china. copy everything in the world.

  • We in the western world keep ignoring Asia. Asia keeps rising at an extremely scary rapid rate while we accumulate debt. We are so fucked.

  • KASKUS ER tinggalkan jejak agan disini !

  • @203207ab And?

  • Such life in capitalism country

  • I still think the housing designs are much better in Hong Kong, they definitely need a better architect.

  • Ok this is all beautifull and shit but, dudes, no free days here. It is communism. Go and try to say something bad about China in China. They will kill you.

  • @sujoms as long as they think it works and it is what gives them a chance to live a good life, what is wrong with it? Just like in any country, if you say something bad about them to their face, they'll likely let you know how they feel whether it is through calm conversation or a fist in your face, this is prevalent even here in America...so why you hating?

  • Sounds like a cult.

  • America was once the biggest manufacturer of iron and steel but with politicians and corporate greed sold it out for slave labor. Now take a look America goes poor and jobless and China gets rich and prosperous.

  • Wow, that is like the most beautiful asian city ever !!!!! That is the dream and vision I had for China !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK,this is nice, but it reminds me on Potemkin villages.

  • 7 days work!? why China is treating people like machines?

I see a very little difference between this show-of village and a prison.

  • Simple, This how it work- Direct inport iron ore, mfg, direct export to steel end user, that is how $1 become $8

Same process - direct import car, furniture etc, to distribute to all residents, that is how to save 60%, All worker become skilled, efficiency, because no job change, very smart.

    They do has retirement plan

  • Something does not smell right under the surface, just like how Enron's books smelled fishy.

  • Never worth it to be enslaved.

  • @athinggoinon And you think working 5-7 days a week being paid with paper money worth nothing isn't enslavement? wow the illusion works really well when people think they're free.

  • @eleganz the difference is that they do 7 days. At least in the west most people have 2 days of freedom, it may not seem luck much, but it makes a big difference to quality of life. Even if Huaxi had one day a week, it would dramatically improve their lives.

  • @BVargas78 I don't disagree with you but I think with a system that they've developed in Huaxi, as long as their leader doesn't die and is replaced by a corrupt or self-serving one, I see at least 1 holiday/per week in their future but their economy has to be able to withstand that one day off. I hope you understand what I mean.

  • Seriously, they should move towards a 5 day week, use some outside labourers to make up the deficit on the weekends, then they'll have a great work life balance.

  • @BVargas78 they do, migrant workers are part of what supports their economy, they are very careful about giving out residence, as residents are shareholders, so migrant workers support their industries.

  • @antrage looks like even with the migrant workers they dont get regular days off in the week. To me, this is like being a well maintained slave. They have no free time and thus lack freedom. Even if it was just one day a family could spend together, every week, it would improve life dramatically.

  • @BVargas78 You know I could be wrong but with a leader like that, I don't see how getting at least 1 day off a week, in the future, is out of the question. People work hard to earn money for themselves and to give their families a chance at a good life and you can find billions of examples of this even outside of China.

  • What happens when you get to old to work????? Or if you are disabled in an accident?

  • In China the reality is "work harder today, so that all you may do is stolen to the benefit of Rome" Communism being merely a facade of the Jesuits.

In Western the reality is "work harder today, so that all you may do is stolen to the benefit of Rome (via subversion of the West by the Jesuits). All you make is taken via devaluation ($8k in 1975 is $128k today) of the currency and massive taxation on top of that.

Best learn the true lesson of the uSa, its either you or Divine Right.

  • Sadly, its a ponzi scheme, in that if you choose to 'cash out' your share...you are prevented from doing so. All of your output has, in effect been stolen.

Typical Jesuitical twisting of a good concept.

  • Huaxi, copying the template of the New Harmony colony in the US. They simply dropped any religious contexts which caused the fall of the New Harmony colony.

  • Looking at their village reminds me of the 1990's, Clinton was President, the state was rich! everyone had a nice house, and city works would come every other week or so to sweep the streets, schools had the resources, and jobs for everyone. One decade later, the streets are in pieces, public works comes around to maintenance things twice a year, half the neighborhood has been foreclosed, schools shut down, and loss of jobs. Thanks for nothing bush..... and thanks for the debts...

  • in china, the philosphy is "work harder today, better life tomorrow"

in western, "enjoy life today, fucked up tomorrow"

  • @finestfresh simply not true

  • @finestfresh becouse of that west will be destroyed

  • This is a great deal if you are in China. You can work 7 days a week and live in a hovel and get no healthcare, education, car, or cooking oil or you can work in Huaxi for 7 days a week and get all that stuff. Pretty easy choice. In the West or in Japan or Australia and New Zealand, you can't just happen to do your job in a particular place and expect these benefits but you have the freedom to make as much as you are willing to work. In other words Developed nations > Huaxi > Rest of China.

  • @caeseroct0 Except you are forgetting that in America you can work full time and still be poor. For that matter you can work TWO full time jobs and be poor. This is the situation a lot of people are in. The whole "you can work hard enough and be rich (or at least well off)" idea is complete bullshit and has been for a very very long time. It hasn't been true since the 50s, probably

  • Blood curdling!

  • It seems to be a feel-good story, but: What happens to the world's environment when 1.4 billion Chinese are consuming like Orange County Yuppies? The air, soil, and rivers of China are already hideously polluted and ravaged by industry, transportation, and power plants.....

  • Who want to live in an Aquarium like world where everyday they re-enact the Truman Show.

Look properly and see what this village actually is......"The Village of the Damned"

All it's citizens are nothing but "Living Dead"

  • @kitto1969 Sign me up. I can work for 20 years and I will not pay off my student loan debt slavery or get a job with health benefits let alone 0 copay. I have a bachelor's degree in finance and two years experience (made $0 commission only in commercial real estate working 80 hrs per week) and the only job offers have been $30k or less with no benefits. My options to make the most money are to enlist in the army and go to Afghanistan or go to China and teach english at $20/hr.

  • They don't even work for 8 hours a day : DDDD I want to live there!

  • No kidding? But you are the exception moron. I can see you were raised from a family of idiots, go fuck yourself asshole.

  • Huaxi is what successful socialism can create. I wonder what they do with the lazy and stupid, the likes of which form the backbone of Western socialism.

Still, I would prefer to live in America.

  • Chinas model of a future Utopia...

  • I am interested in knowing what if a girl born in this village decides to marry an outsider, will she keep getting the bonus every year?

  • Seriously I don't think the issue is about personal freedom at all. It is not that they can't leave the village, they just have to give up the welfare and benefits. This village is successful because of one man, and he happened to decide to stick to the old communist fantasy and distribute the money to all villagers.

For any villagers who are not happy with 'lack of freedom', get out and work or do business on your own, you have the choice. The money they have are not made by themselves anyway.

  • I love that the "BMW" is a Volkswagen

  • Ridiculous.

  • pretty soon...when you're truly rich....you'd want to visit Paris for "real Hermes" or Switzerland for "real Patek"...then u run into problems with the government. This is material enslavement.

  • Self imposed imprisonment is key to American society without all the sharing of Socialists. It's just played out in the US as freedom to do as you please with no one cooperating except the military who runs the country & could take it over at any moment! Anyone in a company also have unity but only a salary check to comfort their lonely hearts and maybe some assets to warm up to on a lonely cold night called paper stocks that can burn between their fingers when everything goes downhill.

  • American freedom is the loneliest life in the world! China's success story on the other hand is self imposed imprisonment with no holidays? They are happy to have an enhanced lifestyle in one place, because they came from the countryside overnight almost! They seem to be hard working slaves well cared for by a generous landowner. Sounds like the movie where women were replaced by pleasure robots! But their hard work pays off materially.

  • But spiritually empty like the Americans? But one can see it's controlled by some rules. Anyone leaving the commune forfits all! There's the glitch! If you don't mind being all that then you are confortable & better off than the erroneous americans who die sad lonely & usually next to broke most of the time and are just like slaves too! • right now, China becomes the envy of the world. the Chinese are ignoring jealous country on whatever accusations they bring. in fact, if every nation adopts the Chinese principles, there might be a relief from hardship. and perhaps the Chinese way of Communism, is not as bad after all. or to be better enough, those countries being bullied by non communist powers should enable citizens to grow bigger balls rather than dicks!

  • It is very attactive to me. Those children were really having a good time :)

  • @AUSM92

"but billions of people enjoy what they achieve, the friends they make and lessons they learn through work. "

Billions of people eat dirt to survive and sell their bodies just to survive. Your idea that people consent to their position in life is a US/UK centric view.

"The only alternative to adopting it willingly is tens of millions killed in an attempt to force it upon people as we've seen through the 20th century by the USSR/PRC/CPK."

    Coercion comes from capital.

  • Chinas model of a future Utopia...

Built on the backs of slaves.

I wonder how much in resources the federal government has thrown at this, How unfair to the people who paid for it all.

  • WTF, only $150,000? Thats nothing!

  • @PlzDuntBanMe China doesn't have the insane housing/debt bubble that America has.

These would be $500,000 homes if they where built in the US.

  • @DackIsBack WTF? You call $500,000 a nice community? I mean, yes it would be a nice community in the states, but I thought the richest communit yin China would be like $20 million homes. My house in Canada costs $740,000 and that was only 3 years ago!

  • @PlzDuntBanMe It's China...

WTF Do you expect, They are just coming out of a 60 year reign of COMMUNISM.

Market prices are not set by capitalism/ Adam Smiths "invisible hand of the free market"...

Now that I re-watch the vid my guess those properties shown are worth $1,000,000+ going by the US's real estate market.

You will also find that the government controls every aspect of people lives, So the price is artificial...

  • @DackIsBack Yes, you are right. I dunno much about mainland China, sorry

  • @PlzDuntBanMe Put it this way...

There aren't many people in China with ¥6,000,000 (Chinese Yuan, $1M).

Who the fuck would buy them if they cost more?

They work for slave wages, The government takes a MASSIVE cut and spends it on national socialism.

In a communist country, You don't get to decide where you spend your money, or what you spend it on, The GOVERNMENT Does.

  • @DackIsBack

"In a communist country, You don't get to decide where you spend your money, or what you spend it on, The GOVERNMENT Does."

    A) There is no Communist country

    B) Communism does not incorporate money as it is a feature of capitalism

    C) If you are implying Chinese cannot buy commodities freely then you seriously need to get off your couch and travel overseas at least once in your life.

  • @kingmafi6699 "There is no Communist country"

    (a. You're an Idiot.

    (b. You're an Idiot.

    (c. You're an Idiot.

  • @DackIsBack

Have you read anything by Karl marx?

If the answer is no I rest my case.

  • @PlzDuntBanMe

That makes you miserable in Canada, doesn't it.

  • @cesdlrey You jelly? You're in a fucking 3rd world country, you filipino gooks will never be rich and successful in life. Hahahaha

  • @PlzDuntBanMe. You’re suffering from mad cow disease go see a butcher.ROFL!!

  • @cesdlrey LOL, 3rd world country is such a 3rd world country. If you weren't in a 3rd world country with late news, you would've known that Mad Cow Disease isn't even a problem anymore in Canada. Are they airing news from like 2003?

And also, we have such a great health care system, we get free flu shots or any anti-disease shots every year lol. I feel fucking sorry for you dumb gooks in Philippines who don't have any money to do shit LOL. Get raped son.

  • @PlzDuntBanMe ok but everyone here is 500k, prob only 20 homes in your area is worth 740k,

  • @PlzDuntBanMe

this is a chinese village, dumbass. If you buy houses in shanghai, HK, beijing, etc, they will cost way more than anywhere in Canada-I should know; I'm from vancouver -.-

  • @PlzDuntBanMe that economy level in china called nice community, please notice there's 2 billion people in china..

  • @PlzDuntBanMe 150k will buy you a nice house when your currency isn't inflated as fuck because of an incompetent cowardly government full of corrupt politicians who are too much of pussies to let some markets fail naturally, cut some government spending, raise taxes, and actually be fiscally responsible.

  • wow you people realy think this is bad dam you realy are lost in the system. good luck keep watching tv thinking one day you'll be rich.

  • @sniperusg50 are you fucking kidding me? These people work 7 days a week. What about hobbies? What about their own individual aspirations? If they want to leave the village they lose everything, that's a mighty big leash around everyone's neck there. I don't need money to be happy. I like riding my bike, target practice, and programming computers.

  • @lizard450 im an electrician and i work 7 days a week and i bet i have to work harder then them to have what they have. a house like that where i live would cost like £500,000 (south england) and with a mortage your paying back much more. i think there are more good points then bad, give it time and they'll get holiday pay and they'll get to own the house and the cars will be in there name its a start and i think its a better start then we have in the west.

  • @sniperusg50 Well, unlike them you have the freedom to choose to make the sacrifices to make your life as you see fit. If you want to make $500,000 dollars a year.. Its very doable. You can choose to improve yourself, they can't.

  • @lizard450 LOL $500,000 a year is "very doable"?? Thats how you describe half a million dollars? what the fuck? In what country? You sound like a retarded rich kid who has never worked a day in his life. "If you want to make $500,000 a year, just do it ! its easy! "

  • @akaMouse I never said it was easy. I just said very doable. It can be easy if your actions are aligned with your passions. If your actions are not aligned with your passions then it can probably be damn near impossible. Might not be like flipping a switch, but you grow at it. Starting your own company, becoming a head accountant at a large firm, becoming a corporate lawyer. All doable achievable goals. I mean there are 14 year olds who've made millions on their own passions.

  • @lizard450 You didn't say its easy, you just give idiotic suggestions like "Be a corporate lawyer! Be the head of an accounting firm!" Who gets to go to law school, how much does that cost? Head at an accounting firm is one position in a company of maybe thousands of employees - only one can get it ..... So i guess for the other 99% no, its not "doable" at all. Im surprised you didn't make the most often heard dumb suggestion "just invent something!"... Try living in the real world for a while..

  • @lizard450 I agree, what if you just want to see other cities, go to colleges. Damn, these people are nothing but slaves. I was excite for their standard of living until the catch - you can't go anywhere, except when you die.

  • fuck P.R.China

  • @AUSM92

"but the vast majority in free nations don't consider themselves enslaved in 'wage labor' and nor do they feel their work is meaningless."

People are lucky if they find a job let alone a stable high paying one. Most jobs are meaningless and the majority of people definitely don't love their work

"If this was the case we would have people willing to adopt communism on a large scale"

Straw man argument, Marxism is theory based on post capitalist societies. You can't just "adapt it".

  • The problem is that fundamentally this model still relies on capitalism and is prone to market forces.

The goal of Communism is to free people from wage labor and meaningless and repetitive work.

There's still alot of Leninist-Maoist influence.

  • How respectable and fascinating! Too bad the houses look the same and the energy is far from green with no aim towards changing the situation.

  • Although it doesn't look like a great idea of development but perhaps it's still better than North Korean "communism" where noone has nothing at all (except the party officials and few other hi profile officers and those who have good contacts). I'd like to visit Huaxi some day.

  • @AUSM92

Well it is better then having 0 income and no house

  • You must be kidding right? It is better then nothing. I know lots of people outside China working 6 days a week, for example in the USA.

As long as the people enjoy working 6 days/week then family life is not a problem and never will be. They got medecin, they got help etc, they don´t need to be worried, they have an working system, even the weak can enjoy life.

  • Comment removed

  • Emotion and friends is not on the menu. Friggen machines.

  • May be Huaxi town has been created after looting millions of ppl and distributing the resources amongstpowerful the communist

  • don't look at the dark side. look at what they did and what they have. its alot better than the rest of the chineses..

  • This is the communist dream

  • Well well, the new "plantations" are getting lovelier these days. But, at least they don't need their Sundays off to go to church...much to busy working for the massor, er I mean Socialist Party. But why give them a car, where would they go? Oh yeah, didn't mention if there are any gas stations.

  • give it a 200 years and genetic illnesses will be rampant

  • All basic necessities taken care of, except... liberty.

  • @diurdi and no honeymoon in Honolulu lol

  • However, given their huge size, the Chinese will have a much harder time than current European and American countries hit by the slowdown. I hope they learn from our situation and stop doing stupid things like this Huaxi thing...

  • All this will end as soon as INFORMATION starts going around the multitude of provinces in China. It will also end when China's growth will eventually stop, just as it happened everywhere else in the world's civilizations (I still don't understand why the Chinese don't treasure other countries' experiences in this matter). By that time the rest of the world will have found a way around the current financial slowdown and it will be China's turn to withstand the brutality of stagnant economy.

  • @emacrisema " you will get sick and you will be FORCED to leave"

well that's soemthing that u assume to be true.... u dont really know like I dont.

however they dont have our rights, but in china...... it's not that bad

  • @emacrisema most of the chinise work MORE than 12 hours a day.

they have the same right as the others chinise people BUT they have also something more: house, car, healthcare

it's not that bad, what about if I give u all those benefits for working 6/7 days?

a huge house, a splendid car, free healthcare and a great salary in exchange for 1 more working day a week? sounds like a nice deal to me

  • What a sick and frightening place !! And that communist brainwashing hymn ! Perhaps they have in every room a big screen from where "Big Brother" speaks to them. Why need big houses and fancy luxurious cars, if you can't go anywhere ?! And no holiday, no free time... just work, work, work... Horror !!

  • A bunch of rasists ! Chinese KKK culture. I did not see any black or hispanic there ? How come, brothers don't deserve nice houses and bmw's ? Where is Al Sharpton ?

  • @bulichi

U can't be serious, do ya?

  • @novembrine1 I'm as serious as a heart attack !

  • @bulichi

Meaning you're so dumb to not understand there're no blacks or hispanics there at all?? No way!

  • Comment removed

  • @novembrine1 No problem, they will send some over in the name of diversity and multiculturalism.

  • @bulichi

haha I should have guessed u'r just a tard.

  • @novembrine1 So you're saying that president Obama is a tard ? Secretary of state Rodham Clinton is a tard ? UN General Secretari Ban Ki Moon is a tard ? Hmmm ? Is this what you're saying ? I believe that you, chinese have a big-ass racial problem.

  • @bulichi

Chinese me? Far from it. Pretty far!

Any links to your "weird" assumption??

  • @novembrine1 No matter what you are, you iz racist, and your sorry azz will be soon overwhelmed by zi brozers.

  • @bulichi

Oh I should have known u made it all up, tard:)

  • @novembrine1 Judging on your nick you live in a barrel of sauerkraut. And you smell, too.

  • @bulichi

Yeah, whatever! I still owe you this:

It's a Yutube video. Replace the code on the browser! Shit, u don't know anything???

Btw, are Chinese the most the most racist people on the planet, or do they scream for diversity and multiculturalism???

U understand the two are the opposite, do you?

Dude are u ok? Something seems off with u!!

  • @novembrine1 Hmmm, diversity and multiculturalism are "the opposite"... so you say. What are you smocking bro' ? Do you do crack down there around the Fori Imperiali ?

  • haha, most americans work 7 days a week and still need to be on welfare.

  • Work seven days a week? Damn, if you're willing to work that much just move to a Western country. With that kind of work ethic, you're bound to earn a decent living- oh, and you'd be free to leave whenever you choose to do so.

  • terrificant !

  • so basically you work like a mule, and you don't own nothing, neither your very salary that can be took out of you with everything else you have, If you want to leave.

That's the fucking sickest place in the world.

They THINK to own something, in reality they own NOTHING.

  • DAMN!! This IS just one SICK PLACE!!?? These people are just like slaves with a twist...Come on Boii, where me cotton?? *whipslash!!*

  • @Habska are they really that different from you?

if u work there, they will give you a good salary, a splendid house and a car.

if you choose to leave you will keep your salary that you earned.

so why is it really that bad?

THEY DONT TOOK AWAY YOUR MONEY, u just got fired.

is it really that different from your country?

where many people die as a results of not being able to see a doctor, and they have free health-care system and the banks will take away your home

  • @MaximilianHorizon

Well, YES this is totally different compared to that where I live. If you stay in this "fairytale" land you can get your basic needs satisfied, thats it! If you leave you may or may not get your money and leave BUT how far the hard earned money will get you?? I suppose not very far...you are locked in this "golden" gage and you just "wont" want to leave it. Thats why this place is sick and twisted.

  • @Habska

lol... if you just "wont" leave a place.... it's cause that place is better than other places..... so it's actually a good thing.

it's not that they cant leave, they dont cause there is no better place for them.

that place is a small paradise inside a hellish country

btw the "branwashing propaganda" are not really different from the one that u get from fox news and your governament

  • @MaximilianHorizon

And btw how would you like listen that brainwashing propaganda song over and over AGAIN!!?? SICK!!

  • @MaximilianHorizon Look what "kanejing" says : "you cant withdraw money from your own bank account directly without signature of leeders." Conclusion is : they take away your money too, if you leave !!!!!

  • one kind of Matrix, one kind of CCP dictatorship. A case for psychiatric.

  • Note that there are more boys than girls in the school. Selective abortion in favor of males has left China with 32 million more boys than girls, creating an imbalance that will endure for decades.

  • A commune in China that is the envy of other villages. Feel free to admire their success in relation to other villages, but remember, their success comes from free trade with the outsiders, and they are but well treated serfs/slaves of their lord/master. Free to leave, though, they may not take anything they have earned with them. They have security today, but if the company/factory fails, where will they be?

  • BMW? Imported Cadillac? Thats a VW and a chinese made Buick.
