  • Thank you MissNisha2006. One of the more articulate posts favoring the safe use and teaching of firearms to our children. I look at it this way; If I had a swimming pool, would I try to keep it locked up? Would I try to hide it and keep it secret from my kids and their friends? No, of course not. I would spend time and money teaching them how to swim. I Would tell them about the dangers of swimming pools and death by drowning. I would be close by the pool, or I'd be swimming with them!

  • I feel that this dad is doing a good job, and all of you parents that have guns in the home should do the same. If you never show a child the damage weapons can do, then they will try to teach themselves. I plan on having guns in my home and I plan on doing things like this to teach my children. Just look at it like this, if you don't teach your children want you want them to know, someone else will teach them what they want them to know.

  • Way to go little man, and good job dad.

  • Starting them out young, also prepares them for military service.

  • hes going to get molested

  • @Luskcreek1

    Explain what you mean.

  • @Luskcreek1 You are a douche bag

  • This is definitely a good idea, though some will ignorantly criticize it. Even if you do not have a gun in your house, your kid's friend's parents might. Teaching them at a young age that guns are not toys, to not play with them, and how to properly use them safely may actually end up saving lives. It depends on how mature the kid is, but many of your grand or great-grandparents probably handled guns at that age, too. My grandfather went hunting at that age & they used to allow guns at school.

  • definitely .38 special

  • holy shit thats not a 357! recoil like that is too little

  • He looks pretty comfortable with it. Nice.

  • vaffanculo , teach him to shoot animal! he keeps finger on trigger after shooting! safety at first!

  • always great to teach your kids to shoot.

  • amun 38 spl, no 357 lol

  • wow he handles it better than some adults nice:)

  • What you are doing is a good thing in my opinion. Guns will ALWAYS be a part of the human society. What he is doing is learning his boy from a young age HOW to handle a firearm, show it the respect it deserves and the safety aspects of it so that he DOESN'T point it in an unsafe direction etc. This chap will grow up not wielding a firearm like its a toy like some teenagers do that think they are macho playing with firearms. This is a great age at which to learn his hungry mind! Five stars

  • why didnt you show him how to stand correclty :P? he coulda fell on his but

  • @15legit15

I did. But he was too small and the gun was too heavy. So he was leaning back funny. Does it look to you like he fell on his butt?

  • @RobertPaulDoran i can see he didnt fall on his butt. but if you read my comment i said "coulda". im sorrry if i made you angry nice vid bro. :D

  • gosh so young. he could probably turn the gun on you as a joke and accidently shoot you.

  • @SolidPRAWN

You obviously don't have children that you've taught how to shoot. Do you?

  • gosh so young. he could probably turn the gun on you as a joke and accidently shoot you.

  • thats a 22 caliber i think. i dunno im just saying. ive shot a 357 and they kick like a mule.

  • 8 yr old?? he looks like 4-5

  • this is what i like about 357 mag revolvers you can shoots .38s through them and they dont kick nearly as much

  • gun nut plays with pistol not a maggium thou

  • @ASSASIN3601088

ROTFL You commies crack me up! I can't even read what half of you are writing because it's almost unintelligible. I hope you are all the future of Communism!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!

HEY EVERYBODY, if you want a good laugh, go check out this guy's page and his favorite video.

  • @RobertPaulDoran go fuck your self you dont have better one it looks like your jacking off in your bed room with the lights going on & off retard

  • @ASSASIN3601088

    Yep. Diagnosis stands.

    Ha ha ha ha ha!

Even better than the first post! Good one.

    Communism Fail.

  • The little man handle's it very well but give him something more pleasant to play with, like a "J" frame 22 !

  • that aint no magnum.

  • @rabbitwithaglock

He's shooting .38 factory loads. It was his first time shooting that day so I was taking it easy on him. The gun is a 1972 Ruger Security Six .357

  • that was cute

  • @tonyhighflyer911 We have a winner, folks!!! This is the best reply so far! Well done. The wife laughed, too.

  • @RobertPaulDoran did you put 38 specials in it ? if you didnt your kid must have one hell of a grip

  • dang, he can handle the recoil.

  • I think Gabriel is ready for a .357 magnum 125gr JHP round. It's just a wee bit more powerful than a .38 round, LOL! Just kidding of course!

  • @enigma800

He turns 12 next week. He wants to go back out again! Maybe then we'll try .357?

  • @RobertPaulDoran damn he handled that like a .22

  • Oh dam the boys lucky. i didnt get to shoot my first gun till i was 12. well it wasnt mines it was my bro'in laws. he had a mp5 that shoots .22's. one day im gonna get my own gun....

  • i give u props bro

  • I believe its an American right to own guns and not only that but to teach younger generations the proper way to handle weapons. Wait until the Russians or Chinese come to take over, then you'll be happy that everyone knows how to properly use a weapon (extreme and maybe not likely).

  • nice example of father you are, retard!

8 years is an age to play outside, not to learn how to do violence. I dont care if this is for fun, but he is only a kid! Someday he will shoot in someone and you will not know why he did that!

  • You assume he does not play outside. This is an ill-informed assumption. Does he look unhappy? When I asked him if he would like to shoot again, did he say 'no' and put down the gun? No. Clearly you don't know me or my family. Based on your grammatical errors it looks like English is your second language. That is a more safe assumption than yours was. But do I personally insult or attack you for bad grammar? No. If you have constructive criticism, fine. If not, check you grammar first.

  • And whats the point to let a child shoot a gun?

You are teaching one more person in the world how to start a "war". I know that im exagerating the most, but think clearly! The world is a shit in some parts because of guns, evil, etc. Look the arabs and their wars. I dont know how is the "culture" in the USA with guns, but here in Brazil, with the movies that we see, we know that most of u likes violence (with the destructions in the movies etc). Sorry for any english error!

  • What year was the first firearm invented? Is that the same year that "War" began? No. Again, you display a rabid, irrational, ill informed bias against guns. Guns don't cause people to be more hateful than they already are. It's just a piece of metal with no conscience or will. It doesn't persuade or influence anyone toward violent acts. Violent people will use whatever means they have within reach to hurt, mame and destroy others. Stupid, selfish, angry, greedy people do what they want to us.

  • December 18th, my mother-in-law was almost killed by a drunk driver who had a warrant out for her arrest. Did her truck cause her to drive into the side of my M-I-L's car? No. Did the steering wheel of the truck decide that morning where it wanted the occupants to go that day? No. Did the alcohol compel her to drive with her own daughter in the passenger seat without a seat belt? No. Should we outlaw all cars to prevent drunk driving offenses? No. That would be stupid.

  • The truth is, that woman who drove into the side of my mother-in-law's car last Friday was a dirt bag piece of trash with multiple prior offenses and a long criminal history in 2 states. SHE decided to drink. SHE decided to drive. SHE decided to speed through a red light while making an illegal left hand turn. It's not the fault of the truck. We have drivers education to teach people how to safely operate a motor vehicle on public roads. And yet car crashes happen every day.

  • The culture in Brazil is highly sexualized. My brother married a woman from Brazil. The world revolves around ones ability to attract a mate and keep them. Men with greater machismo (young, healthy, strong, attractive) are more attractive to the women. Women who are younger and prettier are more attractive to the men. So what happens when you get old and flabby? What does the man do with his wife who used to look hot when she was young? Dump her and go find another who is!

  • So do we blame the institution of marriage for the high divorce rate? NO! It's not the fault of marriage that idiot's can't be faithfully monogamous to their spouse. In Africa millions of children are living in orphanages because both parents died from AIDS. Does AIDS make you want to have more sex? No. Death from AIDS is a consequence for irresponsible, animalistic, selfish behavior that thumbs it's nose at restraint and self control. That is the whole point.

  • @Seu0chico The wars between the arabs have been raging for thousands of years before man invented gun powder

  • In my opinion, everyone should know gun safety and how to use a gun. People who respect guns know how to operate them safely and know what is appropriate and what is not.

  • @toastybunster

Not all people life in america

In the rest of the world less then 1% of a country owns a gun

  • @666ShoopDaWoop666

If only 1% owns a gun, that is their problem.

Remember... when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

  • @666ShoopDaWoop666

I can't figure out what you're trying to say here.

"Not all people life in America..."

Do you mean, "Not all people Live in America?" True. Too bad for the 1%.

"In the rest of the world less then 1% of a country owns a gun..." OK. And what happened in England when the police only had clubs and mace instead of guns? The crime rate skyrocketed because the bad guys still had guns and the police did not.

Remember, when seconds count... the police are only minutes away.

  • @toastybunster very good comment this needs more thumbs up

  • VERY UNSAFE! Even SUPERVISED shooting should wait till teenage (minimum age is 13). What kind of DUMB NOOB would let their 8 year old shoot ANY GUN! What a MORON!

  • That was rude, i see nothing wrong with this video.

  • Comment removed

  • @adrianying

    Are you an ER Dr.?

Do you work in a M.A.S.H. unit near the front lines of a war zone?

Do you live in a 3rd world militaristic regime?

How is it possible that you can claim to see teenagers shoot people every day? That is quite a claim to be making in public. Either you are lying, or grossly exaggerating your claim to try and make a point.

  • Well, if this guy is a "dumb noob" for letting his 8-year old son fire a weapon, then I must be a real mofo for letting my 6- year old fire a S&W 5906 9mm.

  • My father-in-law had one of those. My older son and I shot that one.

Swimming pools also kill children every year. Do we call a father "Dumb noob" for teaching his kids how to swim?

  • Hi everyone. I've noticed a lot of other younger kids click on this video and comment.

SO... if you all would be so kind as to not use profanity in your comments, it would be much appreciated.

ALSO, if you have profanity as part of your screen ID, I will not approve the comment even if it is complementary.

Sorry. My son likes to check on the status of this video every now and then, too.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. Robert ;D

  • Well said. Congratulations to your parents for doing well to raise you. On behalf of "Magnum, he was replying to xXPhazorXx the first time. After I responded to "Magnum", then he turned his sights upon me, which is what you rightly commented on.

By the way, "Magnum" is 15yrs old. You are 12 and conducted yourself with more maturity than he did. Good job! :)

  • thank you

  • Yes indeed sir

    wow

    glad you left 'em up

it's good to be aware of ugliness as well as beauty

    :)

  • Yaaaaaa, ummm, someone who's been commenting on this video needs to take a serious chill pill, and a new perspective on communicating in general...

Wish I shot at that age, Started when I was 12

  • Are you referring to that magnum**87? I tried to tell him that his words will betray him, but he wouldn't listen. So I decided to post all of his comments unedited for your enjoyment. :P

  • IMPOSSIBLE

  • im sorry but are you sure thats a .357 magnum that looks like a 19mm revolver the gun is way too short and the barrel is way to wide to be a .357 magnum. No offense or anything im just asking.

  • It's a 1972 Ruger Security Six .357 Magnum I bought for $175! It is in fantastic condition for it's age. My son, Gabriel is only shooting .38 on this occasion.

  • ya, looked like he couldnt of been shooting magnums

  • He did good.

  • nice shooting, man!

  • The gun is a 1972 Ruger Security-six. It's a .357 revolver. However, on this occasion I loaded .38 since it was his first time shooting.

  • Is it .357 magnum? Didn't sound anything like a .357.

  • I loaded .38 for him. Didn't want to hurt him on his first day out. Some people I've seen take sadistic pleasure in giving 1st timers the biggest gun shooting the hottest load in order to get the best Youtube video moment. Not me. He's my son, I want him to enjoy the time we spend together. If it's homework, tennis, or shooting, he should be able to look forward to it, not be filled with dread. Now he's 10 and would like to try it again with .357 loads. We'll see...

  • i think this is a snub nose .38 not a .357 :p

  • My son Gabriel replied once to the other 10 year old's comment. But thank you. I want my kids to use correct punctuation and grammer whenever they write anything.

  • You guys are 10? Wow, you have better grammar and sentence structure than most adults here on Youtube.

  • Thank you for this comment. I (the boy that shot the gun) am 10 years old, too.

  • My son Gabriel replied. In the video he was 8.

  • Your son is good. Right stance, right posture. I actually, just shot one a gun for my first time, today. It was pretty scary for me.(Since I'm a 10 year old.)The gun was a .38 special.

  • Dude, you're completely wrong. You are supposed lean INTO the gun, not AWAY from it, like this kid. Thats why he fell back when he shot a stinkin .38. If he where shooting an actual .357 round then, he would of fell over. You got to get a sturdy stance on the ground, and you got to lean forward

  • Are you always this rude and arrogant when you leave comments? Give him a break. He was only 8 years old, shooting for the first time ever in his life. Speaking of life, why don't you get one of your own.

  • way to be an asshole. I was trying to help the kid improve his shot. If he fell over from a .38 Sp, he could get knocked in the face or strain his wrist shooting a magnum. Don't reject help you dick

  • Everyone can read what you said and reach the same conclusion. If that's how you offer help... I don't want it from you.

There are plenty of comments from others offering "Helpful criticism". Go ahead and read them. Maybe you will learn something.

  • Fuck you, asshole. nothing rude about what i said (except to that idiot I replyed to). Anything rude was not directed to you or the kid. If you don't want my help (whose been shooting magnums for several years now and has not once been knocked on my ass or in the face because of the help i just gave you), then you can go fuck yourself. Dickwad

  • GOOD JOB bud

  • Cool video! Your kid did a good job handling that gun.

  • i wanna see him with a 6 guage shotgun haha nice vid!

  • Thank's. I began teaching all 3 of my kids with a BB gun first. Then Grammas Ruger Mark 1 .22, then the .38cal. My 14 year old much preferes my Springfield Armory XD45. Someday soon we'll get out to the range and video him in action.

  • you know my dad did the same thing with me

  • This video makes me want to have kids. Amazing! He even knows to keep his finger along the frame and off the trigger until ready to fire. Your 8 year old knows better then some 30 year olds I know.

  • Was he shooting magnum rounds or .38 specials? Awesome either way!!

  • Reply to NteDg2021

Thank's for asking. He's shooting .38 cal factory loads. Of course now my other son(14yrs old) wants a video of HIM put on Youtube too!! So I'll get a movie of him shooting my XD45. He loves shooting that thing.
