thanks for the memories excellent video thanks for share two guitars and maybe the first group o maybe not can tel me anybody some about this comment...
I saw the old Wishbone Ash at My father's place in Roslyn,NY in the early 80's. They were great. I remember people in front of me at one table blowing lines of coke in the open. I was mad as hell because I just became a NYC Cop, but I wanted to see the show. So I let it go for Wishbone.
Front Page News was very good, my second favorite Ash album, but IMO didn't have that hard, ethereal edge of New England. There's the Rub (remember that one) isn't bad either
Maybe it didn`t have any hard edges but really it must be one of the best (and most underated)"west coast" album since the BB albums.
By the way; I saw them a few times in the eighties and even shared a pint with Andy. Next month their playing (Andy & Co.) here in my hometown. So great....
They played "Candlelight" at the AshCon in Scranton, PA in 2005--"they" being Andy Powell as the only one from 1976 still doin' it. It was still great...
Hi..i seem to remember a radio interview at the time New England was released when Andy Powell said that Candlelight was an old song writtem when Ted turner was still in the band. Also, the otiginal album credited Ted if I remember rightly...
at the above concert they played every song from New England except 'When you know love' and 'candlelight'..i dont know of any existing live recordings of either...
Glad to help..its always been a favourite for myself too...I remember singing it on the way home from the Glasgow gig at the UK leg of that tour..still got the ticket!
There's another song on YouTube from the same album, same year, and probably the same tour. It's called "Lorelei". Another great! "New England" has always been my favorite Ash album.
Fantastic band, always been. Take a look on thebestoffmusic dot nl

This is one of the best albums ever recorded. Bought the CD on Amazon and have listened to it from beginning to end at least 50 times. Incredible.

Love that bass playing. I shook hands with Martin Turner last night, MTWA played in Sheffield. He still plays fantastic bass.

Been listening to Ash for almost 40 years, Argus is their best, and one of the best albums ever made. Thanks for posting.

This is one of the best songs ever written.
Love ash from that "1974-1977" period.
My favourite ones are "You Rescue Me", "Persephone" and "Thrown Down The Sword".
Martin Turner is a very under-rated bass player and singer.

What a shame Ash never hit it big in the States... mainly because of record company/management BS. Wish someone would post "When You Know Love" ...
