  • This game crashes for me when I'm using DX10 in Windows 7. That's why I use DX9 although it looks 'a bit worse'.

  • @TheRuneScapist mine crasht too , just set everything on lowest . exit game , restart game , set DX10 on and then u put everything again ultra ( or your normal settings :) )

  • Hey, i really like the vid. Its possible with directx10 everything its much more darker?

  • DX10 mode has better lighting and shadows. I think.

  • akurva elfelejtette tekerni a sofőr a kormányt mekkora szégyen a nagy far cray 2 xD

  • guys im running a 3870x2 RoG Editions and Q6600 oc at 3 gig on windows 7 64bit ultimate. ARound 50 fps avg 3870x2 isnt the best with AA i get pretty good performance on AAx2 with everything else maxed out. However whenever I turn on dx10 it just makes everything slower even without AA on. Without AA i get about 15-20 fps increase but still dx10 chews that up any ideas? company of heros dx10 runs smooth but not far cry 2. Thankyou.

  • Dx10 is smoother and optimises all the behind-the-scenes processes for the graphics. And DX11... Well... GO BUY WINDDOWS 7!!!

  • @andru75k4 You gotta be shittin' me! It's slower and the picture is darker and has loss of saturation. DX10 for retards imho

  • @MrFrogjab It is darker... But not by much. And IMO it's a reasonable price to pay for some smoothness.

  • Direct X 10 was made to make games run better.*that did doesn't happen in some games.-But in far cry 2 Dx 10 made the game amazing <not in the graphics part, witch is the same as dx9 , but in the running part making the game run better !

  • dont see diffrence

  • The only thing that is REALLY noticeable is dx10 is darker and has a brighter sun

  • more clouds in dx 10 cant see more oO

  • I Play in Far Cry 2 on DX10 all max, 8x MSAA, 1152x864 - 40 fps. My computer:

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.8 GHz

    Palit GTS 250 1024 mb(overcloked)

    4 GB Ram

  • I only see that the sky is darker, thats all.

  • whats the difference? i really cant tell

  • there are minimum diffrences at the shadows(shadow antialising) and lightning.

both together let everything look a little bit better(the lighthning on a texture for example)

and i also have the feeling that the weathereffects at dx10 are better.

and the framerate is up to 20% higher with dx10. thats the only really importand point

  • Intel Core Quadro (2.41ghz) 3GB of ram EN8800GTX 768 mb Vista ultimate SP 2

I run the game on 1600 x 900 res (not my full res)

    AA 2x

    Shadows low

Ewrything els is on high and very high

I get min:25 fps max:85 fps Normaly it's betwen 30-70 FPS it dosent drop belove 30 too often but if i turn up my shadows to high i get 20-30 fps :( btw i use DX 9 not 10 cause then i get like 10-20 fps

  • Well, I didn't notice any visual difference. But the thing is, if you run DX9 in XP and DX10 in Vista, you'll usually lose about 10-15% of your frames in DX10 (thanks to Vista). Now, if they're both on the same OS, then DX10 will usually perform slighly better at the same settings because it is slighly better optimized. But I chose to stick with XP and DX9 for the better framerate even though I have a GTX 295. DX10 just doesn't make any visual difference in most games.

  • well at 1920*1080 i notice the difference very well.

i use windows 7 and it actually runs as good as xp.

also you can use the won performance for antialising or higher graphicsettings. for me it's usefull cause i can use the won performance for higher antialising(4*AA).

  • you run it on windows 7? jsut like me but i got some problems.

the health bar is glitchy ans just black.

    what should i do?

  • Hey Skipan, what does 720P and 1080P mean on pc resolutions? cause I've got 1680x1050 but is it below 1080P quality or is this complete bullshit? since PC monitors aren't TV's?

Oh and about far cry 2. The FPS is increased on DX10. I know its weird, when i play on DX9 i get around 40fps and on DX10 i have 60 fps. (everything max except AA)

  • 720p=usually 1280*720

    1080p=usually 1920*1080

your 1680*1050 screen is below normal 1080p but it isn't shit. it's just 15% less than 1080p and thats enough for gaming. on a console you can't get those resolutions as their aren't powerfull enough and they only render at native 720p(in nearly all games. sometimes its even lower)

  • why are you comparing the consoles!!??

  • it's pc only. no consoles

  • 720p not lower though

consoles are stretched to 1080p sometimes if they are played on a 1080p HDTV...but usually games and the overall format are played at a native 720p.....not lower lol :P if it was lower.....it wouldn't be 'HD' at all would it?
