  • Feed em to the poor.

  • greetings from Egypt, if these camels represent a problem to you, we would buy them if you give us a good price.

  • @loghati We do that already. Type in a search "camel catching Australia" and you will see video of people who catch them alive to send to the Middle East. There are over 1 million running wild in Australian deserts. They cause problems for the native environment.

  • @MrOzanachronism how did they get there to begin with ?

  • @ulverup They used to be good swimmers.

  • why you don't export them to the arab countries they raise camel and eat the meat

and drink the milk of camel

  • cull the camels but what about the thousands of cattle roaming the place? australias full of f.....heads .

  • @callyng7 that being said, and i agree with you,but why cant they just deport them,i'm sure arabians would love some cheap camels,I'm sure the cost of transport would be cover by selling them abroad, not that you are resposible or anything, just sayin

  • @Pumpaction06 Introduce Lions! Yeah it'd be really dangerous for you but we'd get some great David Attenborough ducumentaries out of it!

  • Camels are cute invasive species :3

  • well the solution of feral camels in australia is that instead of killing them export them to asian countries like pakistan and india where they can be used as draught and working animals as well as breeding purpose

  • @mryellow123 Our excesses are many, and ongoing.

While you suggest that we are dealing with one of them, the others remain unadressed.

Those Camels are paying the price, as do many species, for human foolishness.

  • @PonyHaven lol, let me retract that and say that I was abrasive and crass. As per our other discussion I have a very different opinion of you. Please forget this aforementioned remark, unfortunately due to my flaws I am quite intolerant with some things. ^_^

  • @nickcarless

    No problemmo dude.

I disnay hold a grudge. They are too heavy, and are easily broken when dropped ;) .

    Take care,

    Ponyhaven.

  • Seeing animals as good or bad, feral or pest is outdated and resulted in destruction of the Thylacine and whaling which the Japanese see as the rats of the seas. There are better ways to do things than are currently being done.

  • they should sell to muslims

  • Why not give the Arabs the three thou or so of camels (heard it on the new this morning) so at least it won't be a complete waste of resources, and we would be strengthening trade ties too! sounds like a plan!..

  • Piss off, you child molester.

  • Whatever, loser.

  • @Oggmttkbmbbs,

    LOL.

    You poor wee fellow.

You have lost this argument. so you attack your opponent.

Hahaha, you have proven yourself to be not only a hypocrite, but also a moron.

Thank you, sincerely, for the laugh you have given me :) .

  • @Oggybottoms,

    False accounts?

I am not sure I understand your statement.

The 'excellence' of your education is certainly on display here.

While NZ's education system leaves a lot to be desired, it would appear that it is better than what your part of the world has to offer.

You poor wee fellow. I pity you.

  • @Oggybottoms,

Yes, the sheep rooters are in favour of murdering these wonderful sea creatures :( .

Most NZers do not agree with this policy, but our 'dear Government' does not concern itself with such minor things as the true feelings of the people.

This is a sad day for NZ.

Give those pet Crocodiles of yours a hug for me eh? ;)

  • Just shows the unthinking attitude of Australians towards their wild animals. We are very good at lecturing other countries on whales and seals but when it comes to our own wildlife we machinegun them from the air.

  • Please supply independant evidence supporting that sophistry.

  • Just as I thought, no evidence just sophistry. If there is no definable problem, leave them alone.

  • I see, we kill camels to save them!!!! Nature is cruel, survival of the fittest is not pretty. Machinegunning them from the air and allowing them to die over the coming weeks is less cruel? I doubt it. Sophistry instead of science ... as usual!!!!

  • @alexcan99 the best comment that I have ever read.....thanks

  • sneeptheelite: didn't the Australian had an Ostrich problem before and exported lots of meat? Same for their previous rabbit problem??

  • never heard of an ostrich problem in fact pretty sure we don't hav ostriches; u mite be thinking of emus. as for the rabbits they are still a problem but they are less of a problem now because we introduced a disease that killed most of them. and seriously consider how it would possibly be financially viable to export rabbit meat; it's exactly the same as camels, too many, too hard to round up and no real market for em.

  • You can get camel burgers up north in Australia but I dont think its that popular.

Plus being wild you would have to check its safe to eat and slaughtering and refrigeration etc etc wouldnt be cost effective

  • Are you that concerned to think that wild Camels need to be checked to see if they are safe? why? No problem with a healthy wild camel. None at all so explain.

  • You would have to check the health of the camel regarding disease, In the UK farmed deer are checked by a government inspector to ensure safety. I have no problem using the camelsrather than just letting them rot but It would cost more to process the meat than what people would pay.

  • How much does it cost to process meat? Cause you just cut it up and barbeque it nothing costly about it I think bro.

  • wow, you transport the animal. you kill the animal, you run a business to process the animal, you package the animal, you advertise the product you sell the meat etc etc etc its not just cut then bbq lol

  • maybe this is a sign of warning that world is changing.

  • they should use the meat, the hide. or better yet export the meat to a needy nation or two... this is such a waste...............

  • Agreed. Why not opening hunting and let the Camel population be regulated that way? They had a rabbit problem before, then an Ostrich problem and exported the meat. Camel have the advantage to have a nice skin too. I never tasted one though (perhaps it is awful?).

  • camel meat is salty and if cooked right it's delicious. have you ever eaten animal fat?

  • napalmpk: yes, and I used to think (especially for BBQ) that the fatter the better ... until I eat Santa's Reindeers (quite surprisingly lean meat and soooooo good that I now know why Santa has a round belly :-) ) ...

  • lol

  • So what did they do to the Camels?

  • Dealz1988 - I saw a report about this on Aust TV. They said that they were going to round up the camels away from the community and shoot them. They also said that they were going to leave the bodies to rot where they were shot. There are loads of camels in outback Aust but in my opinion if they did need to be culled they should have at least used the meat.

  • @showlink

there are shooters who are selling the meat for pet meat, i harvest some for my own consumption, but theres not a large enough demand for the number of camels that will be culled now.
