  • Lol, finally a video that shows how you actually ground yourself.

  • how do i take apart pieces of my computer and watch youtube tutorial to take it apart lol?

  • Laptop?

  • Is it possible to upgrade from this: 1 x 1024 mb ram (ddr3 pc3-10700)

    1 x 2048 mb ram (ddr3 pc3-10700)

    to this 2 x 4 Gb DDR3-1066 PC3-8500 CL7

  • how doyou do this with a notebook?

  • @Terraapples no, all that would do is increase drive space, the memory increases RAM (random access memory) but does not affect drive space

  • What?

  • Umm is there any way I could do this without messing up my pc? Like an external hard drive?

  • Wow. I wish I had known a long time ago how easy upgrading memory is and how big a difference it can make.

  • i had like 100million gb/ram but my bro use on useless stuff -.-

  • Comment removed

  • hey..emm..i knw this is a stupid question but...is 1.99gb is fast?thx

  • @kingrare5 no rely slow.

  • @kingrare5 lol impossible to say, 2GB is a good amount for any duty, even for gaming with medium graphical settings. Is it fast? Can't say on RAM alone, as the CPU and GPU and HDD have a lot to do with your overall system performance.

If you are asking if the individual RAM is fast, then you need to look at the memory speed. Should have a rating such as 800MHz or 1333MHz or 2000MHz. The faster the better, but the RAM has to be compatible with the speed of your motherboard's Front Side Bus.

  • is there a i can add ram the computer im adding ram to only has 2 ram slots

  • @MegaAnt5 Are you asking if there is a way to add more RAM? Not really if you have filled both slots. However, best time to buy RAM is right now as it is super cheap. 4GB of RAM (2x2GB) will be only about $40. Buy online for the best deals.

  • I now went from 8gb - 16 gb happier (I'm a hardcore gamer!) :)

  • i have 1GB RAM when i play medieval 2 total war kingdoms it's so lag to play it

  • @DieHarD9191 same here i figured it out all we need is more ram my hp pavilion sucked so bad i bought a new graphics card and more ram to make it go faster hope i helped

  • @DieHarD9191 might not be due to lag, #1 improvement for a PC is GPU. What are you running? Also buy some new RAM if possible, best time for it! 4GB of RAM is only about $40 AUD/US.

  • how to find what is my RAM DDR or DDR2

  • i got a acer laptop for free the other week as it didn't work n was in bad shape. i stripped it down and got it working got a power supply and installed vista. works like a charm apart from its so so slow because of 1GB of ram. it maxes out the ram and then i get judder and lockup. i just had an additional 1GB of ram turn up today that is identical to the stick inside so i can dual channel. its in and running and is so so fast. i'm writing this on it right now :)

  • 512mb?!!?!? wtf......my com is from 2005.......brand is compaq..........and my ram is only 224mb -.-.....and everytime i play blackshot, loading joining game,it takes a longgggggg.....time.....that ppl always kill me first.......any help on this plz?

  • @irfanfeizal haha spewing! stay away from compaq or hp or other generic brands you can buy at your local big-name electronics retailer. If you want a decent computer from them you will pay way too much and then it will still be under spec.

Look online in your country. Or try a small computer builder. Use wiki & forums like OCAU to learn about parts. Then build a custom machine. Will be heaps faster, and heaps heaps cheaper. The building part is fun or you can pay them to make it, should be $100

  • and in terms of your lag etc, yes i think you need a RAM upgrade + HDD upgrade + GPU upgrade.

Best option is to buy a whole new PC, most likely, but if not possible:

4GB RAM $40 + 1TB WD Caviar Black HDD $80 + GPU $anywhere from $150-300 for an very high spec one.

  • 512mb?!!?!? wtf......my com is from 2005.......brand is compaq..........and my ram is only 224mb -.-.....and everytime i play blackshot, loading joining game,it takes a longgggggg.....time.....that ppl always kill me first

  • my comp is a old compact presario 2005 or 2006 windows XP celeron R CPU2.66GHz 248 MB of RAM :(

i think ill trow this to the garbage and buy a new one!???

    please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Julitroid i have got a dell thats similar to yours and all i did was replace the ram to 1 gb and now am fine but its upto you

  • @b9st

    thx!

i think ill do the same as you

and will ill be able to play starcraft 2???

  • @Julitroid ya.. thats like nothing. but i wouldnt throw it away. send it to me :D

  • @Julitroid 2005

can you tell me the model name of your presario.

i can tell you what you need (oh AND IN 2005 THE MINIMUM of ram that came on computer was 1 gig)

  • @Julitroid 2005

can you tell me the model name of your presario.

i can tell you what you need (oh AND IN 2005 THE MINIMUM of ram that came on computer was 1 gig)

maybe its much older then you think. or that you have more then 248 megs, just that maybe one of your ram chip is defective wich would result in being deactivated.

  • Nice video i got my own site about electronica, pc and computers at humansponsors . com

  • ill be upgrading to 8gb

my computer starts slow and lags when im online

  • @kevinspl2000 thats not because of ram...

thats because your Windows has to much bloatware loading up at startup.

to many program on a computer scan slow it down by a damn lot.

more ram is only good when your cpu isnt running at 100% for the task you are doing.

  • If i ground myself does that mean i cant go outside anymore?

  • @0igo no if you ground yourself you would probably die after receiving a terrible shock of electricity since your grounded...

  • Hello I have a dell dimension c521 it has 1344mb of ram should I use 1gb to upgrade it yet again? and will 2k+ ram will help me not lag in an mmo i play that has only 850mb?

  • just went from 4 to 8gb today, really felt the difference right away! should have done

    it earlier:D

  • my comp is about 5 to 7 years old its a Dell with windows XP and it got 3,50 GB of RAM

  • dur?

  • can i install 1 gb ram sdram pc 133 133mhz???I've got 2 slot.Now i've got 512 mb ram(256 mb x 2)

  • Hello there! I've recently bought a Dell Vostro 430 computer with i7 proccesor and 4gb of RAM, I bought 2 extra RAM today and it listed 6gb RAM under Properties. Though, it says "6GB (2.96 gb is available to use) Does that mean I only have 3gb atm? o.O

  • @davidwarcraft

Well, a 32bit version of Windows can handle only 2,96 gb of ram, so You must have a 64bit version of Windows, because it can handle way more RAM than the 32bit version. It will handle your 6 gigs for sure. :)

  • @seanapaulafans I have 2gb of ram now, i think its one stick, can i get another 2gb stick so i have 4gb? or is it only going to read 2+1gb of it?

  • can i install 2 gb ram???this is my specs

    ram-512 mb PC2300(MHz)

    pentium 4

    Manufacturer - Samsung

    module size - 256 mbytes

    tnx !!!

    pls answer my question....

  • whats grounding myself?

  • 15 mins? for just a ram? hahaha funny. slow. its only a seconds. noob

  • I have an old 2002 HP computer with Windows XP. I only have 512 MB of RAM. Its so slow! I definitely need to add more RAM.

  • Loooooove the XP SP2 when he talks bout VISTA :L!

  • i have 1 gig in my vista.. it sucks i get lag on every mmorpg!

  • @spunkflunk hi five man loool it sucks

  • OMG MY RAM DOESN'T FIT? WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? THE SPACE IS AT THE WRONG PLACE!

  • @Welocy fail

  • omg i i have 50 of those ram thingys no one fits

  • i have 2 gig ram and

    geforce 8600 graphic card

and at most of games i have 10 fps........ halp

  • @traxgod2 try cleaning your computer or use ccleaner and delete some useless programs and clean registry. you can find ccleaner in google if still lag try talking to computer mechanics

  • @traxgod2 what type of processor is in your computer?

  • @krazykrackr42101 no idea.. rofl ? can i find it on pc properties?

  • @traxgod2 yeah you should be able to

  • we had to upgrade our ram so we have 2.49 of ram whats the most u can add because i have an extra thats 512 MB

  • thankks (y)

  • can u buy any ram or does it have to be a certain one for your computer?

  • L0L I only have 1GB of Ram, but im buying 2GB more today :D

  • do you need to keep the original

  • you cant stupid

  • you can touch the connectors....

  • fucking hell, i have an emachines tey suk

  • @TacoBoyManThing lol so do i i have 1 GB of ram lol

  • @PressureCA I have two gigabytes of RAM on Vista HomeBasic lol.

  • about 5 years ago i had an xp computer running sp1 on 256mb ram. then i downgraded to windows 2000 sp4. xp still worked fine!

  • Hi guys i need some help.I need to know how to identify what of the RAM cards i can put can u plz help me btw i have 2gb ram.3.0ghz 600gb hdd and radeon x1600pro 256 mb video card in my pc.

  • hey guys i need some help, on my screensaver, I chose photos it wont let me play themes it says that my video card cant play themes. I have a nvidia 9800m GS so i have a good video card, oh and its on vista. any help would be appreciated

  • ram is cheap these days

if you drive by computer shops

you can pick up about 3 GB's of ram for free

off a computer that they threw out

    graphics cards...ehhh not so much

there always at about 64MB or 128 MB because there not gaming computers

unless your at a gaming shop

  • I upgraded my RAM from 2 to 3 GB and my GPU from 7800GTX with 256 MB to 9400GT with 1024 MB.

Before, my computer scored 4286 at 3D Mark 06, now it scores only 4179. How come?

  • When I put some RAM into my computer, do I need to do something in the windows, like accept that RAM insert or install it, that lets my computer begin to use it? And one more question. Is there any possibility that when I will insert 2GB of RAM my motherboard would not be able to work with it, there would be too many of RAM for my old motherboard and there wouldnt be any result of adding RAM. Thank You.

  • no you dont need to install your new ram. but the 2nd question is yes. you need to see what kind of mother board you have, and what kind of ram ur old ram was. check the channeling, also, check what bit your operating system is, for example, if your operating system is 32 bit, then you can have a maximum of 2 gig of ram.

    think of it this way it 32 bit = 2 x 16. 64 bit = 4 x 16. and this is regular ddr2 channeling.

  • lukas make sure u adding the right ram there is DDR,DDR2, and DDR3 if ur motherboard is old then it is most likely to take DDR rams and no u don need a disk to install just insert the ram and ur good to go :) it will make ur computer faster just make sure u using DDR Ram sticks because other wise ur computer mite brake if u use other kinds of ram ddr is the slowest ram

  • my computer is from like 2002 or 3 and its windows xp 32-bit would it be DDR OR DDR2?

  • check your other ram stick that is already inside ur computer. it either says ddr or ddr2 or ddr3 then u will no wat type of ram stick u need :) its on the side of your ram stick ull see ddr or ddr2 or ddr3

  • i'd say DDR but use PC Wizard 2009 from CPUID

  • no i will automaticly recognize it.

and ram capacity is mostly capped by the operating system. 32bit OSs use 3,25-3,5GB of RAM. 64bit OSs like vista home premmium use up to 16 if i remember right and vista ultimate uses up to 128GB which is not possible at the moment.

  • Haha at the moment. XD

  • D: wish i had more ram D: cant even run GTA: IV

  • me too!

  • GTA IV is mostly not runnng that much memory. it does most impact on CPU and GPU. so if your processor or Graphics card is weak i would upgrade this.

  • wat if i put the wrong memory like if i have ddr memory wat if i put in ddr2 wat would go wrong with that???

  • It will not boot. I think a ddr2 strip of ram doesnt even fit on a ddr1 mobo.

  • no you can't put DDR2 into a DDR1 mobo. it is not backwards compatible.

  • your computer wouldn't boot up. and idk if you could even put the ddr2 ram in there anyways. different sizes i think.

  • i only got 1.60 gb ram :( not even enough to play tf2 nor l4d

  • what tha fuck im not going to pay 500 4 new rame i rather invest in a labtop

  • its called a lap top not a labtop . .

  • dats like 16gb of ddr3 proper high speed stuff

  • dude the only way you would pay that much for it, is if you were making another google. JK no there are way wicked fast super machines out there with like 16 gb of ram.

  • Comment removed

  • i have 1 comp that has 8gb of ram and 1 that has 2gb,

i think 8 is enough i do really good on just 2gb for gaming

  • @GamingBlitzDOTcom What do you play, Pong?

  • @WheresWaldoProd 2gb is enough even for new games like assassinscreed 2, mw2... I would like to know what you play if u need 4-8 gb? O_O

  • @GamingBlitzDOTcom only servers need more then 4-6 gigs.

4 gigs for a gaming rig and 6 gigs for a 3d engeneiring rig with 4 graphic cards and 12 screen...

  • I have 2gb ram (2 stick of 1gb) and i have just bought another 2 sticks of 1gb so i should have 4gb (the new sticks i bought are identicle to my old ones) but when i out them all in by pc doesnt boot and ceepsrestarting its self? if i put 3 stiks in it boots but only says i have have 2gb? i have tried every way of putting them in but it just doesnt work my pc only sees 2gb!!! please help me?

  • no idea thats dogy

  • I'll translate. I have the same problem :P

He says he put 4 gigs in and it didn't boot (reboot cycle of death) so he put 3 gigs in, and only 2 gigs showed up.

    Hoped that helped :P

  • What OS are you using?

  • im not an expert by any means but i think pc's have a limit to how much ram it will recognise or handle. when i bought my pc it said on the website that its 1gb and then said that its upgradable to 2gb. so i can only assume yours is the same and thats why it wont work.

  • I don't know if u got the answer avery ram has there on speed for example

1 GB ram have 667MB Speed

    & in the same time

1 GB ram have 889 MB Speed Rams if ur motherboard supports only one of them so that mean u got the wrong one thats all dude

  • how about on a laptop?

  • at least i know how to do it if i get problems and that pc there is kewl...

  • hers a question I NEED HELP i got memmery tht works in bios switched each card for vista and evry card wors but i install both 1 gig card in it shoes in BIOS i save as defuld and load vista, and vista wont reconise the extra ram how do i do it i need 2 gigs to run my games????

  • click start-run then type "msconfig" then click the "boot" tab then the "Advanced options" and make sure that maximum memory is set to 2gb instead of 1gb

  • Lol I was scared when my friend told me you had to put pressure on it

  • I managed to get 2gb (2x 1gb) of RAM for 17 bucks. :P

  • Where would you get that from?

  • im bored on cam

    this video was good BM

  • i only have 796 kb ram

  • omfg no u dont! u idiot

  • there is no way you open this video with only 796 kb ram <_<

  • aren't you meant to use an anti-static wrist strap before putting your hands into the computer?

  • it's a good idea, but not absolutely necessary as long as you're in a relatively non-static environment (i.e. decent humidity and you're not wearing polyester or nylon) and "ground" yourself (by touching the case metal) before you start.

  • what is gounding yourself? i still dont understand.

  • the human body gives off static electricity and the RAM modules are very delicate to any electrical discharge...you can eliminate this static electricity by (grounding yourself) touching any metal surface

  • thanks anyway..I successfully installed my RAM

  • how can i find out,if i have ddr 2 or ddr1?

  • Download Lavalys' EVEREST, it'll tell your entire computer info

  • anyone help plz...well i just bought brand new ram...2 sticks of 1GB DDR2 ram from Kingston...and when i try to pair it up with the original 2 512mg sticks my computer already has it does 2 long beeps with a long pause between them...is it incomparability?

  • Either 2 stick 1GB or 2 stick 512mb ram.

Different size and memory clocked ram can't work together.

  • can you take like old RAM sticks out and replace with faster ones??????

    reply soon

  • What if i have laptop :)

  • i have 4 gb ram : P

  • Were can I buy ram???

  • Ebay

  • you can buy ram at circuitcity/best buy

  • thanks

  • O hai i upgraded ur RAM

  • pfft i have 515 mb of RAM and it runs ok for games like WoW. but i asked friends how much they have and they said 2gb. now im like wow i've only been runnin of of about 1/4 of the amount of ram u have? so now im off to the computer store to make the guy install the ram for me and buy 2gb of ram.

  • RAMDC: What did they charge you?

  • my computer has 256mb of ram. your lucky :D

  • mine has 1.50gb of ram

  • mm same takes like 5 mins for the computer to start up

  • my 1 got 256mb 2 lol i wish i had 2gb..

  • hey i wanted to upgrade my laptop ram and it is compaq presario c570ea and hp told me it can be upgraded to 2gb ram but u must put maximum 1 chip of a 1gb in each slot but i didnt find a 1gb in the shop i went so i bought a 2gb ship and put it then it worked perfecly so will be bad results in the future or wat ...2nd question is Dimm ram or dim ..w/e means DDR or DDR2 and why is DDR more expensive than DDR2 thanx

  • wheres a safe site to buy a ram...

  • i generally buy ram off of newegg, which as long as you get a highly rated item, it's hard to go wrong. just make sure you have the right kind for your system.

  • My computer has a warranty void at the side of the panel where i could slide off to install the RAM.Will it void my warranty if the seal is broken?

Mine is an ACER ASPIRE M1640.

  • my pc almost went on fire today when i planted another ram stick in it....

it still works on another pc but u can see 2 little burnmarks:P

  • thats kinda incorrect about inserting the ram- with most computers when you use ddr ram you can insert the ram any way- with older cumputers which use sdr ram you have to insert it a certain way

  • "o hai, i showed u how 2 upgrade ur ram"

  • wow i would try this but i dont wanna end up screwing up my computer

  • its fairly simple just try it

  • great video. good for beginners

  • excellent vid!

  • ok wat is RAM i know its some kinda memory source but wat does it store? And wat does Local Disk (C:) store cuz there is this game i want to download but it is 1GB and my RAM is 1014MB and my Local Disk (C:) has 99.9GB left so i dont know if i can download it cuz i dont know where its gonna be stored on the RAM or the Local Disk (C:)?

  • RAM and hard drive space are completely different dude.

Your game will go to your local disk, the ram is what runs the whole process...so depending on the game, you shouldnt need to upgrade your ram...

  • RAM, is what holdes the application your working on at that moment. when you turn the power off nothing is on the RAM. the game you are trying to download will go into the harddrive- (local disc C), when you open the game it get loaded on to the RAM. NOTE: if you run alot of applications at once you will need to get a bigger RAM bank. but dont just go and bye one make sure you get the right kind! hope it help.

  • thanks alot =D

  • ok you guys read this....... i got 2gb of ram and its super fast, now, what if i buy 8 gb or 10(if it exists) my computer will be faster or its just it can hold more programs at similar 2gb speed,i mean, if i got 2gb of ram, at the 50 programs it gets slow(example),at 10 gb of ram will 100 programs run like 2 programs with 2 gb?. Thank you

  • im kinda geting wot ur asking so here it goes:

you computer will run faster if you buy more RAM thats because 2gb is less than 10 gb, the 10 gb will allow your computer to access all the info it needs from your hard drive, which is RAM(random access memory), the more you have, the faster it will be able to attain info from your hard drive and run them, hope this helps =)

  • Thank you thank you now i will buy my 10gb,thank you again!

  • yea no prob but u gotta make sure ur motherboard can take 10 gb of ram. most pcs only have 4-5 spaces for ram so the most you can put in is 4-5 gb of ram. You need a very expensive motherboard to hold 10gb of ram so check and then buy

  • thanks thats the same thing the seller told me:the max ram you can get its 4gb i tell him that if he has a more powerful motherboard and he say no,poor of me:( thanks for you help, you too Willforbes

  • you cant get 10 gb of ram in one computer thats impossible. the maximum amount of spaces for ram in any one computer is 4 on a good mobo. unless you can buy single ram sticks of 2.5gb (which i highly doubt).

  • i know this is a year old, but i still gotta say, this is no longer proper...

actually never was, yes, you could get more than 10 gig of ram on server boards, which arnt THAT much different than desktop, other than they cost a ton more so you can add that much more memory...

but that being said, you can now purchse off the shelf desktop boards that support 12 gigs currently, with plans for me

mmmmmm Intel i7, and 12 gigs of ram, beautiful thing

  • And then you should have a triple sli with the GTX 295 that would be so cool.

  • My vista is 1,00 GB RAM

    and 160 GB Memory(laptop)

  • And???

  • How do I check to see how much RAM my computer can hold, because some computers only let you have so much

  • you can go to START then ALL PROGRAM then ACCESSORIES then SYSTEM TOOL then SYSTEM INFORMATION. You look at physical memory and then you'll know how much RAM you have

  • so easy man like a baby can do it!
