Hey Mel how about posting a short video on different types of kayaks. I'm researching kayaks in the hopes of finding an all around recreational one. Something to handle Big lakes, ponds and a fast flowing rivers. Whats your opinion on construction materials, keel of the kayak. length..etc
Hi Kendrick, Good idea! A longer kayak paddles straighter but weighs more. I like fiberglass over plastic. A rudder is a good idea (easier steering than always correcting direction with the paddle). Think about storage capacity for overnight trips. Single or tandem? A short tandem requires paddling in unison to prevent paddles from hitting. If money was available, I'd buy one made of Kevlar (lighter). I haven't run any fast flowing rivers but plan to run the Green River. Have a nice day, MegaMel
