I don't like it to be honest, i prefer the original one,"Cruise" "Kidman" "A Stanley Kubrick Film", its all that you need to catch the audience, you are trying to expose too much, just kep it simple, i don't wanna know nothing about the movie, its like the Mullholland Drive movie trailer, you just don't know anything about the real and big deal of the movie with the trailer, but you get with the feeling : what its this? and you just have the David Lynch signature on the credits, and that's all.
This trailer reflects the film perfectly. The tone is so very uncomfortable, yet the atmosphere is so very enchanting. Only reminds me of why this is my favorite Kubrick film. Major kudos.
I think this masks (no pun intended) what Kubrick intended this film to be, a dark comedy about Tom Cruise pouting over his wife's near-infidelity, the upper-class, and sheer absurdity. It's a mesmerizing sexual odyssey without any real sexuality. It's a sheer vanity project that only Kubrick could pull off without people noticing. Why do you think Tom and Nicole are in a lavish mirror with the "hottest celeb couple" at that time in the reflection. I'm stoned though, which compliments it well.
That song was originally used in the original trailer for "The Shining" and in the film but was cut. It's by Wendy Carlos and was also used in "2012" teaser trailer.
I know this is weird, but I think this movie is in a way a comedy. Am I nuts?
