I grew up in Akron and moved away as soon as I finished High School.

The cities unemployment was highest in the Nation.

Akron is known for having terrible weather with dreary, rainy, humid Summer and freezing cold Winter. They also have stinky air from all the Tire companies. The Cuyahoga river caught on fire from pollution.

So glad I escaped!

I lived in Akron for 3 years and like every city it has its good and bad qualities. No city is perfect but I think Akron is a great place to raise a family and/or to concentrate on finishing college without a lot of distractions. If youre not in school or raising a family, then Akron would be very boring and it would be easy to slip into using drugs and crime if youre not a strong-minded person.

did you know that akron is in a CMSA area to cleveland along with canton and now youngstown. don't believe me go to the website under cleveland plus. there thinking about cleveland going into regionalism. akron is in northeast ohio and that cleveland CMSA.

I commute from Canton to the University of Akron. I never really got much of a chance to experience downtown unless I was taking a quick drive to the Polsky Building. Akron seems like it could be a nice town when the weather cooperates, which is only about three months out of the year! XD

I have always said that Akron is big enough to be a real city, and small enough to be a hometown. I lived there twice and would move back someday. Great people, cost of living, nature, proximity to much entertainment. What's not to love?

I live in Akron and sometimes I look around this city and wish I could move, but then I see this and it makes me remember that there are some beautiful parts of this city. If I was going to move anywhere though it would be to Cuyahoga Falls and everybody knows that's just Akron with a different name and bad speed limits.

I know! I totally did and so far away. Akron is the best place to spend the 4th of July downtown. Things are so different where I am now and I have changed and have been influenced by Los Angeles. I do love it here. I dont think I can move back. I wont be having kids BUT if I did I would totally move back. Akro is the best place to grow up!!!
