Since when did they start using a rythm guitar besides? I know about Nick Naismith on keyboards, he has been with them ages and I had the good luck to talk to him and James in Bridlington in the 90's..... I liked them better as a 3/4 piece with Nick. No need for more guitars when James is so good.
1. Faster 2. Your Love Alone Is Not Enough 3. La Tristesse Durera (Scream to a Sigh) 4. Motorcycle Emptiness 5. Pennyroyal Tea (Nirvana cover) 6. The Masses Against the Classes 7. Sean is a killer drummer.....but how can u say RIP Richey?? As long as there's no evidence of him u can't say for sure he's dead....Richey wherever u are we'll cherish your lovely poetry forever!!!
I watched and re-corded this gig when it was on tv last year and saw the Manics live, i think it was the previous night when they played at Newport Centre last August, best night of my life, they kicked off the show with FASTER and the crowd went nuts jumping up and down and singing along, absolutely brilliant.
i was at the Newport show, it was awesome. Great to see them in a smaller venue, most of the times I've seen them has been at Cardiff International Arena. It feels more special when it's in a smaller place.
they were great...there were shamefully few ppl there, i almost walked straight to the front...damn shame that, given i saw the first 15 minutes of the killers and was mindblown by how boring they were
yeah that setlist is about right, they played for about an hour, from my recollection on the tv performance they showed about half of the set then cut to a design for life. which is a crying shame because motown junk was phenomenal.
hhmmm, i've heard this before though, wasn't Know Your Enemy supposed to be "like the holy Bible". The reality is that nothing will come close musically or aesthetically to the holy bible. I'm looking foward to the album release, particularly reading the lyrics richey left behind but i can't see it being like the holy bible.
Thanks for the great video,i found myself on the tv during masses against the classes how kool? or mabye not lol Anyway i had some friends who choose to watch the killers instead man they didnt know what they missed as the manics put them to shame and what a great croud it was to with everyone singing along and the late nirvana track to was a memorible moment. Also that setlist looks about right to me,so thanks for the video and i hope they play again next year as they were truely amazing!
I just googled MSP Reading Festival Setlist and got this.. Faster Your Love Alone Is Not Enough La Tristesse Durera Motorcycle Emptiness Pennyroyal Tea Masses Against The Classes Send Away The Tigers Little Baby Nothing If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next You Love Us Of Walking Abortion Autumnsong Baby Love into Motown Junk A Design For Life I don't know myself I only watch it on tv and OMG I was mindblown!!!! Such an awesome band!!! Those guys should be headlining.
I remember being there in the crowd and thinking.. "they'll never play Faster" ...

Sorry but not really ;P
There are much drummers which are better then him, but HE gives the band the flavor which's making the songs better in their performances.
RIP Richey James

To be fair, they'll never do an album that sounds like a previous one. Even if they wanted to, only shit bands do the same album over and over again.
That said, I am looking forward to their new album. Albini production, pretentious titles, a mix of rock and acoustic sounds... Excellent!

yes but that one didnt have richeys lyrics
