@bluegsp I don't know what data sets you are looking at, but the Earth has been warming significantly in the last decade.  1998 (which was 12 years ago) was one of the hottest years on record (due to el nino). What happens when you stretch out the graph to include temperatures from two years ago? You'll see that temperatures work like a cycle with many ups and downs.
