What a horrible plane! My father flies one for a living and the cockpit is waaaaaaaaaay too small!
If your father earns paycheck for flying a P180 Avanti II, then it ain't no "horrible plane".
I can tell you that there are more than a few unemployed jet jocks who sneered at the P180 a few years ago; but right now, they're on the outside, looking in!!

When he took his job, it was to fly a King Air 350. Then, when they needed a new plane, his dumbass boss chose the P180 Avanti II over a Leer 60! My dad ( 5` 8``) flies with a pilot who`s 6`3`` and he has his knees up to his face!
There are plenty of "Leer60" jets sitting unused, and plenty of unemployed LearJet pilots who would gladly trade places with your dad. There are other 6'+ pilots willing to trade their respective places in the unemployment lines for the chance to have their knees in their chin for a steady paycheck.
If your dad's boss was such a "dumbass", then one must ask how he ever came up with the cabbage to buy the P180 in the first place.
The P.180 offers far better fuel economy than the Lear 60 or the Lear 60XR. In all truthfulness though, the planes are not at all in the same class.
the Lear 60XR has a larger cabin, flies faster and farther than the Avanti II.
Sadly, though, Lear has inflated the capabilities of the LearJet 60XR. Not a bad plane by any means, but not the star performer that LJ would have people believe.
I'm just under 6' tall, and my first plane was a PA 22-160 Piper Tri Pacer. Believe me, I know about the "chin in the knees", especially when I had 2 passengers in the back seat.
Some hanger pilots snickered. (What self respecting pilot would be caught dead flying a "milk stool"?) Those were some of the same pilots who whined abut the high cost of rental planes that were often in less than optimal condition.
While they whined and snickered from the ground, I flew!!
@Outlaw1257 haha good catch
