I mean gamecube lacked a dvd player as well, and it sold well and now theres two predisecers after. Mayby one day though sega will make a return in hardware market. First of all the Dreamcast wasn't a terrible console so why are people even having this kind of debate in the first place? Second of all, in the coming years the Wii has had some pretty decent 3rd party games like opoona or the klonoa remake. Third of all, the reason the Dreamcast failed ultimately was because of Sega, not the PS2. Remember the 32x and the Sega CD and lets not forget the Sega Saturn in which all 3 left an abysmal outlook on Sega's brand. Thats why the Dreamcast is underrated.

wow, this is such an unfair comparison. It's not really giving the Wii a chance, don't get me wrong, I love my Dreamcast, and I still play it. But the Wii has done so much more for the industry, and has some amazing games. Simply put, the Wii has a much better catalog of games, especially when you factor in the gamecube games.

Dreamcast and Gamecube are my two favorite systems next to 360. The Wii really is a different system than those though. But that's why I enjoy it. Check out my review on amazon if you want to hear my opinion. Its the first 4 star review of the current bundle, sorry it wont let me post the link
dreamcast is a cheap console (in 2nd hand obviously) with great games that come at a cost of a cd-r disk, you can still play online and you can do lot's more.
It's simply an amazing console, it provides great fun with a really low cost, something the wii is not even close to do.
I still frequently play my Dreamcast even after 12 years, yet the Wii is gathering dust in 67% of homes?. Dreamcast wins hands down it had so many better games than the Wii.
@DevilMaster your also forgetting PSO, 4x4 evo (yeah there was other versions of this game but it was the only console version that could play online and against PC and Mac players), Grandia II, Project Justice, Record of Lodoss War, Illbleed, Tokyo extreme racer 1 and 2, DOA, maximum pool (another game with other versions but was the only console online version that could play with computer versions), Armada just to name a few more as well as the ones you listed. there are a lot more then that.

@masteranimation2008 I took a closer look at the controller in between the picture and the nerd, both fake.Turns out that it's the fishing rod with it's stick missing.Yet this crappy shit is nothing compared to the wii remote plus.The only thing being done with the fishing rod is being swinged like the regular wii remote, but infact this fishing rod can only detect when it's being shaked(metal ball touching contacts perhaps?). Hence the reason why it's only intended use is fishing games.

First of all the Dreamcast wasn't a terrible console so why are people even having this kind of debate in the first place? Second of all, in the coming years the Wii has had some pretty decent 3rd party games like opoona or the klonoa remake. Third of all, the reason the Dreamcast failed ultimately was because of Sega, not the PS2. Remember the 32x and the Sega CD and lets not forget the Sega Saturn in which all 3 left an abysmal outlook on Sega's brand. Thats why the Dreamcast is underrated.

If SEGA didn't pull the plug on the Dreamcast The PS2 and Dreamcast would have been neck and neck.
only reason you see higher sales figures for the PS2 and Gamecube is due to the fact they wasn't discontinued at 1.7 years old.

But the Wii has done so much more for the industry, and has some amazing games. Simply put, the Wii has a much better catalog of games, especially when you factor in the gamecube games.

dreamcast is a cheap console (in 2nd hand obviously) with great games that come at a cost of a cd-r disk, you can still play online and you can do lot's more.
It's simply an amazing console, it provides great fun with a really low cost, something the wii is not even close to do.

NMH1 and 2, Red Steel 2, Punch-out Wii and Lost Story have "stylized" graphics (read: intentionally made bad to hide the limits of the system).
OK, Smash Bros Brawl, DKCR and Goldeneye are good, the others I can't say because I never tried them.

@masteranimation2008 I took a closer look at the controller in between the picture and the nerd, both fake.Turns out that it's the fishing rod with it's stick missing.Yet this crappy shit is nothing compared to the wii remote plus.The only thing being done with the fishing rod is being swinged like the regular wii remote, but infact this fishing rod can only detect when it's being shaked(metal ball touching contacts perhaps?). Hence the reason why it's only intended use is fishing games.
