My ipod is driving me crazy. I dont have the ipod headphones with the volume control, so I have to navigate through the player to change the volume, which is no fun when your music is blasting in your ears and the ipod is lagging. Im thinking of changing to the p3.

Samsung has great techno products really they're super innovating. I bought last year a Samsung camera and it still works wonders I love it. I want all my electronic to be by Samsung LOL.

The P3 sounds better, when you use your mp3 player you pretty much always shove it in your pocket and just enjoy the music. Put any ipod fan (not fanboy) on a P3/S9/J3 running decent headphones (seing as the price difference allows you to drop more on headphones or a fiio amp), then on their ipod touch with apple headphones, 9/10 people I've done it with have said the "crappy" mp3 sounded noticably better, even when I tried it with the provided headphones.

The iPods are all well-designed, work the way they're supposed to, are easy to use. They still are very overpriced, are locked into iTunes, and they tend to lose at least some functionality in the name of ease-of-use. But most people don't care too much about those things. I'm definitely not an iPod fan, but I can understand why they're successful.
The Touch is fugly IMO. It looks boring and unimpressive, almost generic. The P3 is one of the sexiest players on the market. If it were me, I'd switch the two values for that. And considering how much you're going to have to pay for apps, the P3 really does school the Touch in that area. It's a little annoying how biased CNet obviously is towards Apple products.

@jrvslam Depends really on what you look for. If it's customization (able to set menu, make your own EQ, no cost for apps..etc.) + sound quality + battery life + video file support + lightweight, go for P3. If it's Wifi + iTune network + slightly better touch feedback + iPod touch accessories, go for iPod.
Personally, I choose P3, and while you're at it, buy the product replacement plan from Futureshop or bestbuy. When P4 comes out, you can just get that for free =DD

If you're really into sound quality (assuming that you have a really good ear/headphone, or speakers at home) I would definitely choose Cowon mp3 players over any other mp3 players in the market. They are known for really good sound. S9 is a sleek mp3; heard good and bad about it, but because it has a slightly sloppy touch feedback, I was disappointed.

The P3 sounds better, when you use your mp3 player you pretty much always shove it in your pocket and just enjoy the music. Put any ipod fan (not fanboy) on a P3/S9/J3 running decent headphones (seing as the price difference allows you to drop more on headphones or a fiio amp), then on their ipod touch with apple headphones, 9/10 people I've done it with have said the "crappy" mp3 sounded noticably better, even when I tried it with the provided headphones.

common thats just bull, first of all its a mp3 player, what matters when it comes to mp3 players? how good the wifi is? that you can get access to the app store? no! sound quality is the most important thing for a mp3 player, and how fast you can access the song you want to play. And look wise I would say it's equal, the only reason people give iPod the advantage is because they know iPod's design better, pretty much everyone has had one, Samsung is something new.

The iPods are all well-designed, work the way they're supposed to, are easy to use. They still are very overpriced, are locked into iTunes, and they tend to lose at least some functionality in the name of ease-of-use. But most people don't care too much about those things. I'm definitely not an iPod fan, but I can understand why they're successful.

The Touch is fugly IMO. It looks boring and unimpressive, almost generic. The P3 is one of the sexiest players on the market. If it were me, I'd switch the two values for that. And considering how much you're going to have to pay for apps, the P3 really does school the Touch in that area. It's a little annoying how biased CNet obviously is towards Apple products.

Ipod can suck it. I have an ipod and the only way to download music is with the retarded itunes app. which doesnt allow you to share music on other people's computer. I'm so jealous of my bf. Feature wise, I think P3 beat iPod by large, just because iPod has wifi doesn't mean it wins, IMO. Wifi is cool and useful, but I barely used it when I had one, and my friends barely use it

The scores for 3 and 4 is way overrated for iPod.
File supports, iPod gets 4/5? I give it a 3/5. I'm an all about sound quality guy, and for that reason, I use Cowon mp3 player... I tried an iPod, and they have the worst EQ ever... not just that, the sound that the machine produces is like Made in Hoboland. lol... iPod should've gotten a 3/5 on that one as well.

If it's customization (able to set menu, make your own EQ, no cost for apps..etc.) + sound quality + battery life + video file support + lightweight, go for P3. If it's Wifi + iTune network + slightly better touch feedback + iPod touch accessories, go for iPod.
Personally, I choose P3, and while you're at it, buy the product replacement plan from Futureshop or bestbuy. When P4 comes out, you can just get that for free =DD

If you're really into sound quality (assuming that you have a really good ear/headphone, or speakers at home) I would definitely choose Cowon mp3 players over any other mp3 players in the market. They are known for really good sound. S9 is a sleek mp3; heard good and bad about it, but because it has a slightly sloppy touch feedback, I was disappointed.
