Well who's psychic then!!!??? I just discovered that Sarah Brightman IS doing a cover of Arrival on her upcoming "Winter Symphony" album!!! I said 4 months ago (see below) that I wish someone like Sarah Brightman would do a cover of this song. I've already heard her version, and although it doesn't exactly reach the "levels of grandiosity" I was hoping for, it is certainly a LOT better than this version.
(As you can see below, I accidentally used my other identity to make the same comment.)
As far a repetition goes, I think the instrumental version is nothing short of a passionate ride to orgasm, the gradually incandescent thrusting motion of the melodic line should be enough to convince anyone.
I remember Frida and B A Robinson singing this on tv. Bought the single with the B side "I am the seeker" Loved both songs so much and lost them but now I've found them again. Thank you ever so much.
This version sounds a lot better than the instrumental. The lyrics make it sound like a proper song instead of just the same looping bar over and over again.
I disagree. The instrumental is superior in every way -- it has more emotion and reminiscence despite having no lyrics. This vocal version could have been SO much better if more emotion had been poured into it, and more classical instrumentation had been used, instead of an annoying back-beat which just reminds you of the eighties. I would love someone like Sarah Brightman to do a cover of Arrival with a level of grandiosity found on such albums as 'Harem'.
Well, I'm glad you can enjoy the instrumental. It's fun to listen to sometimes, but I really can't stand it because it sounds like a copy-paste of the same bar over and over again with new effects each time to keep people from catching on.
I agree with you on the choice on instruments. How great would this have been with some strings and horns?
I find that very hard to believe that you "can't stand it" - after all, it's a beautiful melody on its own, otherwise you wouldn't like the lyrical version so much. And it's not a copy and paste job because each round is a build-up of the one before it, using different instruments and vocals -- yes, people KNOW it's a repeating tune, but so what! If you don't like music that repeats a particular melody, then I guess you don't like pop music which repeats verses and choruses all the time.

Hm yes, Sarahs song is great, but on this version (Which is very rare, because the single is out of print) sings a member of ABBA, and the lyrics are different to sarahs. BTW... do you know, where I can here this song in full lenght?
Ach ja, ich wollte dich drauf hinweisen, dass du sowas nicht als "Videokomentar" machen solltest, sondern mir eine Nachricht schicken solltest. Das können alle mitlesen!!
