I believe if you set both horses' in the starting gate, with NO jockeys aboard and let them go. RA would run really fast but get mowed down late by Queen Z! Right at the wire. :)

Both have raced 17 times now. Rachel has won 12 placed 2nd 4 times and ran 6th once. Zen has won ALL 17. Using simple math, Zen is the better horse.

What I am getting from this whole thing is that beating Males is more important than being tops in your class. They would put the female athelete against the male. RA has been going against the males. Z has been raced against the males only once, but routed them.

The problem is, when you finally bring them together for the match race they are 2 female horses running against the other and I am not sure that will matter for them. I don't think they will work as hard against another girl.

Someone needs to talk to the Mosses to let Zenyatta wipe the smiles off jacksons and asmussen faces in the Beldame! I love both fillies but that one race in 2008 March at Oaklawn was all I needed to see that Zenyatta was a better dirt horse than synthetic horse.
