What's a 2004 R32? R32's a 2.0 inline 6 with a 7k redline. It's also RWD, not AWD, which means better high end acceleration to make an S2k look stupid, This video doesn't match up with the description tho.

I don't care what anybody says the 02m six speed is not as strong a transmission as the 02j five speed even though the cluch plate is larger at 240mm. @dividad1 true, but heres the thing, honda vs vw. haha also the honda is a 4 cylinder vs a 6 cylinder. if the s2000 was made with a bit bigger sized engine, it would produce alot more and prob would have been a much better car all around.
The R32 is 568 lbs heavier but has 69 lb-ft more torque and is AWD. I don't know the formual for weight to torque/hp ratio but to me it looks like it would be a close race in the quarter mile each time.

i beat a r32 in the freeway by 5 cars it looked like it was big time modify and i only have intake and exhaust system. i think the s2000 wasn't trying or the driver sucks.
@scorps9398 cuz s2000's are high end cars. vw's are known for torque so off the line this is what happens. but on the freeway it might have been different depending on mods.

i'm loling at all the arguing below... stock for stock from a dig the R32 will eat alive an s2k ap1 or ap2. from a roll where awd hinders your top end. the R32's 4th and up are completely useless stock. which is why when i owned my R32 i never did rolls, only digs. altho when i was stock i did beat an s2k and i was also beaten by them. the R32's torque evens out the playing field despite the s2k's weight advantage. which honestly isn't a big deal and isn't a giant game changer in itself.

actually this is typical of how s2ks race against r32s. r32 is heavier but has a better engine, the beefed up 3.2 vr6 motor to handle the heavier weight of the all wheel drive setup and safety features. and considering the're rated about the same hp and the s2k weights like 2/3 of the r32, its actually pretty pathetic that it doesn't kill an r32.

Second who ever is saying the r32 will beat it around the track your wrong as well, Nüburgring lap time S2k-8:39 R32-8:49 that is a full 10sec. On a roll its over same hp(240) with the s2k weighing 574LBS less the r32 wont win. The 74 more torque in r32 wont help it.

Have you ever been in an s2000? the first thing that jumps to mind is salvaged garbage except that honda sells this garbage as their luxury products. S2000 saves weight by having a plastic interior, yet it still loses to the r32 which again has the same power, but weighs 1000lbs more.
Weighting more and also way more engine displacement and AWD.. yet still side by side? Plastic interior? First off, don't your R32 uses plastic for interior? Fit and finish is horrible as usual with cheap Mexico/Brasil built quality. The S2000 interior fit and finish is top quality material. And main focus is pure driving fun. It's purpose was to give you a production engine that revs to 9000rpm and 6spd tranny is precise and crisp, none of those useless ESP, heated seats.
First of all, Honda doesn't sell this "garbage" as their luxury product. The S2K is a minimalist driving machine. It's for driving purists, hence no electronic aids and no fancy latte holders or seat heaters. Secondly, the S2000 loses to an R32 in performance? On what planet do you live on? S2K's when driven right can run 13.8 - 14.2 standard, R32's typically run mid-high 14's...and I haven't even touched on the handling aspect yet! You're an R32 fanboy who fails at being objective.

i'm loling at all the arguing below... stock for stock from a dig the R32 will eat alive an s2k ap1 or ap2. from a roll where awd hinders your top end. the R32's 4th and up are completely useless stock. which is why when i owned my R32 i never did rolls, only digs. altho when i was stock i did beat an s2k and i was also beaten by them. the R32's torque evens out the playing field despite the s2k's weight advantage. which honestly isn't a big deal and isn't a giant game changer in itself.

also i know that i sound biased towards the R32, which i am slightly, honestly i could i not be. i used to own one. regardless i have 2 friends with s2ks they are very VERY impressive cars. noone can take that away from them but, to think that either an s2k OR the R32 has the "king" motor is like diging yourself a giant pit. for 8k you can get a B5 s4 +600 for a chip which will take you farther than the R32 and s2k's gains combined and will RAPE both cars. just saying no car is the best ever.

no no, didnt literally say: F1 first reach the finish. No.. I have compared "anything" which in fact is Veyron (stuff more in terms of helicopter or so;) to a real masterpiece. 4 turbos, 2 wheels powered, huge engine, 20 liters of coolant and i took 27 seconds to take McaLaren off. The same thing is above: On one hand much bigger and stronger engine on another: brilliant, smart japanese technique of building the vehicle. Point is.. R32 could be probably beaten by DC2 Integra

The s2000 either missed 2nd, or he let off.
I rape r32's all day in my ap1. The car in the video is an ap2 which isn't as good as an ap1 at the track, but in a straight line it's a little better.

Mere VW - see people how Mclaren F1 NA enine did slay a miserable Veyron in TG. It took 27 seconds to get the F1. This is all about VW miserable technique

actually this is typical of how s2ks race against r32s. r32 is heavier but has a better engine, the beefed up 3.2 vr6 motor to handle the heavier weight of the all wheel drive setup and safety features. and considering the're rated about the same hp and the s2k weights like 2/3 of the r32, its actually pretty pathetic that it doesn't kill an r32.

@bobbysue30 not really. The S2000 would destroy a R32 on track. 2nd when only racing to 70 against an AWD car it's always a game of catch up. I am 100% sure that on a highway roll when the R32 doesn't have the dig advantage the S2k would win. And I still think he S2k driver can't drive. I've never seen or even heard of an R32 doing 0-60 in under 5.8 seconds.

I wouldnt even say it has much of an adv off the line, if you drop at 6k in the S2k you got a good shot of taking him off the line, sure your gonna spin a little but it puts you in proper power, S2k = AMAZING!

And other then that, an s2k with the 50/50 weight, mid engine, RWD is very hard to beat on the track. Even stock.

Everyone on here is a dumbass. First of all, everyone who is saying its a 2.0L your wrong its 2.2L. Second who ever is saying the r32 will beat it around the track your wrong as well, Nüburgring lap time S2k-8:39 R32-8:49 that is a full 10sec. I would hope so a r32 would take it off the line being AWD, it wont be that bad if person knows how to launch the s2k. On a roll its over same hp(240) with the s2k weighing 574LBS less the r32 wont win. The 74 more torque in r32 wont help it.

what r u saying? those cars have about the same bhp... vw with 250 and honda with around 240bhp. but the honda only uses a small 2.0litre 4 cylinder engine, with the vw needing a 3.2litre v6! also the honda is much lighter and stiffer, run them round a track!

Japan has their motors, trust me I know, The RBs the SR20s the VQs, the 2JZs etc. But unless it's winning the races then who gives a damn. VW has their motors, the classic 2.0 16V, the VR6, the 1.8T, the W12, but it's not all about who has the quantity, it's the quality and which motors wins the races. S2000 is faster, it was driven by an adult who probably doesnt shift that well, and he had a passenger with the top DOWN. Also, im pretty sure it was completely stock. S2000's are faster.

germany make sum of the best cars in the wolrd which i hate to admit it at time's.
the hond s2000 is a nice car, even though it weighs in a lot less, the r32 is a winner al round, its practical for everyday use eg , shopping, picking the kids up, thrashing little honda supercars.
my point is plain and simple the r32 is a all round great car extremely good hanlding thanks to the haldex awd system and it has low ,mid and top end grunt unlike honda.

Bottom line is, the r32 and the s2000 have the same horsepower, s2000 weighs less by 1000 lbs and the r32 out performs the s2000. you want to talk cylinders, i know plenty of one and two cylinder motorcycles that put out just as much horsepower if not less and would beat both cars. Only and idiot would say, wow, the 2 cylinder puts out the same as the 4 cylinder. Yeah, if you understood anything about engines, you wouldn't make such a dumb statement.

well, i never said honda sucks because they don't, but to say that a car with a better interior, awd, better exhaust note, and the same performance even though weighing 1000lbs more sucks is just plain dumb. Have you ever been in an s2000? the first thing that jumps to mind is salvaged garbage except that honda sells this garbage as their luxury products. S2000 saves weight by having a plastic interior, yet it still loses to the r32 which again has the same power, but weighs 1000lbs more.

Fit and finish is horrible as usual with cheap Mexico/Brasil built quality. The S2000 interior fit and finish is top quality material. And main focus is pure driving fun. It's purpose was to give you a production engine that revs to 9000rpm and 6spd tranny is precise and crisp, none of those useless ESP, heated seats.

First of all, Honda doesn't sell this "garbage" as their luxury product. The S2K is a minimalist driving machine. It's for driving purists, hence no electronic aids and no fancy latte holders or seat heaters. Secondly, the S2000 loses to an R32 in performance? On what planet do you live on? S2K's when driven right can run 13.8 - 14.2 standard, R32's typically run mid-high 14's...and I haven't even touched on the handling aspect yet! You're an R32 fanboy who fails at being objective.
