The hadith of Sahi Bhukari has prophet reported as saying that Prophet forbade wife beating, this is clearly a translational error, and if some scholars say its a tap then why not translate it as tap then physical word Beat.

This Ayat came, because the women were the right to hit beat their men in the same way in the public they were beaten by their men. So some women became impudent and then this Ayat came.
