@ConfusedSponge U R absolutely right! It's a wonder, that she wasn'T black listed for her outspoken and scandalous private life !!! The career of ANY other actress would have had an end !!!
I've read that Tallulah did not like to rehearse... She apparently was a gifted "natural". And her "work ethic" (or lack of it) apparently held her in good stead, both on the stage, in the movies (check out "Lifeboat"), and even on TV ("The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour")... What a unique character!... I would have eagerly invited her to any party I might have thrown....WHAT a woman!!
@odayobalthazar TNX10E6 for your translation ... I don't know how well known she is in france. In germany she is little known (what a pity), but the germans who know her, are as devouted to her than her fans in the english speaking world. long live Tallulah !
@odayobalthazar Merci! the french and german people have often to less english to understand her (i understand almost every word of her) and she was a stage-actress and no typical moviestar. tO KEEP THE MEMORY OF A StAge-actor is more difficult than these of a movie-actot. Hollywood had stars, but the Broadway had a super-nova called Tallulah !
The first time I saw her was on an episode of Batman. She played the sinister Black Widow. She wore red and black and her voice was as wicked as the character she portrayed. Seeing her in this role had an equally gripping effect. This is a great clip, defintitely one of my favorites.
I WISH THERE WERE MORE PERFORMANCES OF HER ON FILM...MOVIES, PLAYS AND TELEVISION. SHE WOULD BE THE PERFECT SUBJECT MATTER FOR A MOVIE ON HER LIFE...VERRRRRRYY INTERESTING, DAHLINGGGG....LOL
@bduhe219 One movie would not be enough ! And: who should play her? The only actress capable to do this was Tallulah Bankhead herself! [ She's unimitable - ; sure, she could be parodized, but this would be another cup of tea ...
Absolutely THEEEE most telling 3 words in this scene......most glad to connect with you on topic.
