I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THE STEELDRIVERS!!!!....with Stapleton that is....haven't found a track or video with Gary Nichols on it that I like yet....tryin to give him a chance though because the body of music this band has created is FANTASTIC.....Stapleton? Do you watch these ever? COME BACK! Keep Jompon Bros. as a side project.... I for one would easily pay $100 to see Steeldrivers w/Stapleton just for a full set. Money motivates, right?
if anyone has seen them live and bought the live album (apparently it was only available at shows) send me a message on here, i would like to offer a trade or something if youd be willing to mail it to me!
Actually, springfield muskets were used in the civil war. Cartridges were just invented and they didn't see widespread use until the middle of the war.
I saw them recently and enjoyed the show but was really disappointed in the behavior of the lead singer. Maybe it was a bad day for him or something urgent came up but he wanted nothing to do with the fans and left right after the show, refusing to sign CD's or visit with the audience at all.
He and his wife just had a baby a few months ago, so maybe that had something to do with it. I have spoken with him a couple of times in the airport and he is really friendly and approachable.
We saw these guys last weekend at Bluegrass Underground!!! Amazing to say the least. They sounded better than their CD!!! If you ever get a chance to see them live do it! What great talent each member possesses. WOW!!!
Outstanding! They take bluegrass above and beyond! Seen them Live @ Earhart Music Fest 2008 last weekend. Such a great live band. Tammy Rogers took a pic with me! She sure can shred on that fiddle. She plays with soooo much heart and soul!
Killer. Can't wait for Steeldrivers #2. Virtuoso musicianship. Skintight harmonies. Really smart songwriting. And Chris Stapleton is the greatest bluegrass soul singer in the world. That's all. I know these people have a lot else going for them (hit country-radio songwriters, studio musicians, etc.), but the very best thing they can give the world is more Steeldrivers.
went to hobgoblin this morning, got PROPERGANDA free mag, read mavericks reveiw of steeldrivers new record, put it into tube ? wow nockout, thanks for posting
Five Stars! I just heard of them on Sirius and bought the album. Not a bad song on it! Every song is toe tapping good! Like Travis Tritt,Alison Krauss and Stevie Ray Vaughn all got together. Great Video!
definately one of my favorite bands, songs, and voices of all time.

Another is:
Can you run, through the freedom lines of the Lincoln soldiers
Where contraband can be a man with a muzzle on his shoulder
(Sounds a little like 'musket' instead of 'muzzle', but that's the wrong war)

Richard Bailey and "big" Mike Henderson really shine on my
favorite STEELDRIVERS tune to date- be honest...they are all
tremendously talented and together are the best new band in 2008 in ANY category to my two ears...
