  • Absolutely Perfect....

  • Debes cambiar guitarrista, no te acompañan bien y consigue un bajista bueno

  • FANTASTIC job, Julie!!! I'm a Tull fan since 1979. Focus on our comments and not the ones by the keyboard warriors.

  • Very Good. Great timing and powerful. Are you still playing the flute ?

  • @berrycccc

Yes, I'm still playing the flute. In fact, there might be an upcoming video of me, but i'm not sure about that yet ;)

  • I am a huge JT fan, you might be able to tell by my screen name, and think that was great. to take it one step further, you need to play on one leg lol jk

  • That was pretty awesome. Ty, I liked your interpretation very much.

  • It is very great!!!!

  • i said it once, and will say it again... this stuff is briliant!

  • This is a hard piece to memorize; good work! :)

  • Nice job - that voice-tonguing that he does is tricky but you caught the groove so the affect was still there.

  • Very Nice Girl! - So glad to see someone so talented, noticing this incredible song, which was the song that got everything going for Jethro Tull, as it was a #1 hit in France when it was released... Nice to see you included the Christmass Carol part that he had added in more recent years, and always plays at his live shows near the season. - The whole band sounds Great! - Thanks for posting!

  • Very good and I like the fact that you do it your own style. If someone wants it to sound like the original, listen to the original which was done so well no one should try to copy it except as a learning tool. I do agree with one other poster however. You need a bass player as it sounds thin without one. Yes, I'm a bass player.

  • Well done julie, don't care about fuzzy criticism, you are talented and good looking

  • Great stuff, Julie. I don't know why people have to criticize; at least you're up there and having fun. And you sounded great.

  • muito bom :D

  • You know this is OK, But I feel its some what sterile, I mean your the only one who looks into it x wheres the passion

  • I'm a big Tull fan and I think you did a great job. I gotta say, a girl who likes Jethro Tull is super cool. Keep at it, I'm dying for another band with a flute. And you're much hotter than Ian Anderson.

  • Pretty cool, but it just isn't the same without a bass.

  • the only thing you need to make it actually cool is to tune either the guitar or the flute :)

  • Yep, too fast.

Prefer the more smooth performances of the flautists Norda Mullen and Ray Adams.

  • Too fast..

  • THEY ARE GGGGGGOOOOODDDDD

  • the flute was great but the guitar was nt that good

  • Competent and enjoyable performance. Well done Julie!

  • Lay off Coolprick.. note for note imitation is not art. Its a great version, & I reckon both I Anderson & J. S. Bach would like it.

  • Julie....you are destined for great things to come. You did Bouree' superbly!!!

  • Nice and easy!

  • 5 stars, but only for the flute.

  • its not jethro tull who have make this song its a german artis last name is bach can remmeber hes first name sorry

  • Yes I know, and Johann Sebastian Bach is like the most known composer in the whole world I guess :D great composer! Tull used this theme from the Lute suite in E minor.

  • @rasm6018 Is totally different, was only inspired to bach the first part of the song

  • WOW. Better flute work than Ian himself.

    Do more Tull !!!!!!

  • Waaw, thankyou :D

  • What a stupid & dishonest comment!

  • Get lost... idiot.

    This girl can PLAY.

  • Great job, a sweet and beautiful version. I can tell you are classically trained (lifting the first fingerr of your left hand for the D). I don't do it and neither does Ian Anderson; but both of you are better than me. Do more Tull.

  • Ian only fingered D improperly until 1975 when his flutist daughter, Gael, pointed it out to him.....you should finger it correctly for clarity and so the D note in that octave is in tune, for God's sake!

  • Yes I know the story about Ian's daughter showing him the correct fingering for D and E, but Ian still plays his D with his finger down. Watch him.

But if you can find an example of him lifting his first finger on the D, please send it to me, because I've never seem him do it yet.

  • Ian don't care about the proper fingering with the hard rock material onstage but in his recording studio he always does it correctly....especially with the soft core stuff. Btw, it only involves D in that one octave!

  • Great Flutist but horrible tuned Guitar...

  • I like this, nice interpretation.

  • Very nice, all around, a quick tempo that makes it move. Great job everyone!

  • indrukwekkend, die fluitpartij

  • Bedankt :D

  • very good ! a beautiful tribute to jethro tull ! well !

  • that was lovely!

is it possible to send me the sheets? would be great. =) thanks a lot!

  • yeah.. that was just great!

  • Voilà, via Facebook hier geraakt. Leuk om je te horen spelen! Proficiat!

  • Bedankt! =) Ja, die jaren bij Karla hebben toch z'n vruchten afgeworpen ;)

  • Sounds a bit rushed. Otherwise, great work and ignore Stratflute's BS distinction between improvisation and adaptation.

  • Nice sound of flute, you need a bit more technic, but awesome video nevertheless, 5 stars!

  • ma zeg jouw haar was lang :o

    viking hair style :p

  • i thought they did a good job.

  • Little add: I dont wanna denigrate you or something like this. its a (in my oppinion)constructive crit. i hope that you give us another version with more influences from ian anderson. play more legatos and play it slower! in the first part (the original from bach) you can make more brightwork like trills or st. like this.

  • All things that makes this song rare are not there. you play a very classical flute style and the headvoice which ian anderson uses is one of the most interesting things at this song. besides "your" improvisation is only an adaption from ian anderson, please dont call it your improvisation! well, the guitar plays not the right chords in the free part of the song. its not always dm, a, a7, dm/ f!

  • I'd like to make some things clear. I didn't call it 'my' improvisation: read 'interpretation'. I don't want to copy Ian Anderson just like that. I think you should always try to put your own personality in music, and not just copy someone else's. What Ian does, is fantastic, and I know I can't do the same (technical) things as he (I have had a classical schooling - with classical accents), so I tried to play this song different. In this way, it's not just a ordinary cover!

  • do what you like, i feel it is cool that younger people appreciate jethro tull's early stuff. i'm 38 and i love their first 3-4 albums. too many people with too many opinions, right? KEEP ON TRUCKIN'!

  • Johann Sebastian Bach wrote Bouree from Suite No.3 ... Ian covered it ... much later ...

  • Please don't butcher Ian Anderson's arrangements....you should strive to do it perfectly note for note for RECOGNIZABILITY!!! Then do it your way.

  • Why would you listen to my performance if I would play it exactly the same? That would be a waste of time. I enjoyed playing together with my friends, we had a lot of fun. Playing music with soul, pleasure and passion is all that matters. But if you don't like my version, I challenge you, maybe you can do it even better (or no, that's impossible, because it needs to be exactly the same!)?

  • You omitted the last very important part of his improv solo in Bouree coz it became extremely ryhthmic and tricky, and you haven't bothered to perfect the half tone half voice technique which is imperative when doing Tull flute work!

  • I already know what I didn't do,

    thanks for your usefull comment.

But I don't agree with your statement "coz it became extremely ryhthmic and tricky": I don't know if you noticed, but the whole song is "extremely rythmic and tricky".

I already answered to someone else's comment that I am not a good singer, I play the flute for 10 years, and I've had a classical schooling. I know how to play 'Flatterzunge' but that wasn't my style, so I decided to play it the way I liked it. Enjoy!

  • Great job on a very hard song. You're much better to look at than Ian.

  • @MrCoolprick Life would be boring if everyone played music all the same; it's all about personal interpretations, that's what makes making music fun.

  • the girl on the flute is amazing yeah! too bad guitar is out of tune

  • very nice playing and you too!!!;D

  • disappointing not to see you on one leg... very nice though

  • you have the cutest fingers when you play. it sounded very nice. opps comment below was on wrong vid =D whatever
