Hey man, I am just interested to know how you find using the RAW with a mixer and an X1, I currently have an X1, external mixer and Audio 8 soundcard. I recently sold my two CDJs which I was using via timecode, but was thinking of replacing those two decks with one of these (Seeing as it can control 2 decks), are you enjoying mixing on that setup?
Nice solid mix, but what the hell is he doing with his hands? lol So many people try and make it look more complicated than it is by constantly riding the faders, it makes me scratch my head and laugh at the same time :)
I hear that the jog wheel is heavy, and has some latency issues when trying to scratch. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Also, what did you pay for this when all was said and done?
i can't really compare it to the NI Kontrol S4 as I haven't tried t yet.
but comparing the spec sheet there are pro on each device.
Kontrol S4 controls up to all 4 decks where Otus Raw is only capable of 2 decks.
7.5" scratch wheel is preferable over the smaller wheels on the S4.
if you want to use it also as a portable unit i would go with the otus raw and combine it maybe with a Kontrol X1 which I do. so you could use Konrol X1 for decks C & D and Otus for deck A & B.
i also recommend getting the UDG Bag for your Otus. it easily fits a laptop plus offers enough space for your accessories so you don't end up carrying 2 or more bags with you.
