  • I love Greyhounds with cow-patch coats

  • beautiful video..adopting greyhounds is the most amazing thing to do..they truly are like no other breed of dogs i have ever owned..they have a regal quality about them.. they can have such naughty natures, but the most endearing charm about them at the same time..i only wish more people would adopt these gorgeous dogs and let the love unfold before their very eyes..once you gain their trust you have it for a lifetime along with many greyt memories to come..

  • We don't have a gray hound but we do have 3 min pins and a pound puppy. Her name is katrina after the hurrican( sorry about any bad spelling). She races around driving the other dogs crazy. Welove them all. very much.

  • we adopted a gorgeous little greyhound girl last year, best thing we ever did! hopefully greyhound number 2 will be with us soon :-)

  • Greyhounds are the best!

  • get a staff ther fukin lazy shits lol

  • Iv'e got a greyhound

  • awww so cute! i love them so much !!THEY ROCK!!

  • My brother had two. They were so sweet Absolutely the most loving breed I've ever been around.

  • Greyhounds make the best pets. We have our Luna three years now, she was rescued from a puppy farm, as she wasn't quick enough to race. She suffered horribly there before being taken in by the wonderful Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Despite her tough start she is the most loving, gentle, loyal & gorgeous girl. She puts up with her nutcase Boxer X sister & is amazing with he a new human baby sister too. So if anyone is thinking of rescuing a Greyhound, DO IT :-))

  • i swear the grey at 0:18 is my greyhound Bubby

  • Absolutely cannot beat a greyhound for a pet. Our retired girl is 9 and I have never seen such a family oriented dog because once everyone in the house (6) is in the same room she'll sprall out in total peace.

  • I've adopted a 3-legged female Greyhound, and she's the most beautiful creature....

So loving, sweet. expressive... And so brave with her amputation problems + pains ...

    She's my heroe ...

  • I ve adopted 3 dogs, one female greyhound ,one male spanish galgo, one male lurcher, the best thing i ever did!!!!!

    living the easy live!!

  • I wish we could stop Greyhound racing.

  • Wonderful photos and set to one of my all-time fave songs! They are such beautiful, happy animals. Thank you.

  • We did adopt and we experience, everyday, unconditional love.

    Great vid.

  • QUANTO AMORE IN QUESTI OCCHI... =)

  • I know someone who adopted a black male greyhound a few months ago, he's called King and he's huge! I knew greyhounds could get big but i didn't think they got that big! He is taller than the kitchen counter so he steals any food left on the side. But he is absolutely gorgeous and so sweet and mellow, i want one! (:

  • We adopted 2 Greyhound dogs a few years ago through NGA in Philly..Boy and a Girl..Boy was Racy and the girl was Dancer(we kept there racing names when we got them..Sadly both my doggies have died from cancer 6 months apart from one another..Miss them much..we do have them both cremated and they are now on our mantel..when the day comes when my boyfriend passes away he wants there ashes in his coffin with him

  • I wanted to adopt a greyhound but thought it would not be fair to one because of my small apartment and limited space to run outside. So I settled for an Italian greyhound! Oh Lordy, little did I know. Including at about six months old the little devil took a flying leap off a porch. Broke both front legs. 12 weeks and $5000 later...well,you get the picture

  • it is unbelievable how illtreated these beautiful, intelligent creatures are, one of the purest and oldest dog breeds in the world, with so much more to offer than to be used as a disposable toy and commodity by the racing industry. give one (or two!) a loving home if you can, xx

  • My mom adopted one over ten years ago unfortunatley, they had to put him to sleep due to health reasons but, you could see the love in his eyes when he looked at my mom. He had a wonderful life with her.

  • My rescued Greyhound is called Angel! She is the best. All Greys deserve a good home! :o)

  • I have a Greyhound name Jupiter. He came off the track at 5 years I have owned him6 he is the best!!!!!!!!

  • My family adopted a gorgeous black and white greyhound last year and named her Luna. We never looked back ^_^

  • Greyhounds are simly the best ! we have one, shes soooooo loving

  • I HAVE A GREYHOUND!!

  • we have just rescued our second !! we have had jill for 8wks and we fell in love with the breed and today we got our second girl Rosie who i hope will be has happy to live with us as we are to have her xx

  • 0.17 the look of love. We hope to welcome an ex-racer into our home soon. To everyone who adopts, donates, rescues and loves these darling creatures - God bless you XXXXXX

  • we have 2

  • haha i no that 2 but i have a italina greyhound

  • @ 0:43 is just about the most precious thing on earth. My grey will be 5 in September. I can't imagine losing him this early on.

And @HersheyBomar, I'd love to see the whippet that managed to get that big.

  • I want a greyhound! I need a new jogging buddy.

  • I know some people who adopted a retired greyhound.

  • Wow only 5. I'm so sorry. That's heartbreaking. I had two, Missy who went to the Bridge last year at 10 and Duke is still with us and will be 11 in Oct. I cannot imagine my life without at least one greyhound in it. I love all animals but there's something so special about greyhounds. I think you have to be owned by one to understand that. They're amazing creatures.

  • Having had my retired grey four years now, I've come to the conclusion that the racing people only get away with their awful treatment of these wonderful ,loving, forgiving creatures because they are the way they are.I doubt they would get away with it with other more aggressive breeds.I only wish I had known what marvelous dogs greys are 40 years ago.

  • *siiigh* I can't wait to finish university and get my own place because I am so adopting one. They have a great agency around here in Canada and I've met some a few times out in public and I fell in love with their sweet dogs. I would rather have one of these sweeties than a puppy of any other kind of dog, honestly.

  • a very beautiful dog..

  • Wish I could own one but I have to settle for Italian greyhounds. Small yard and all that.

  • adopted one on saturday, beautiful bitch from sunderland, glad i have given her a chance to enjoy life again

  • I don't own a greyhound but i do have a lurcher which is a cross between one and shes sooooo loveable! and lazy lol

My neighbour has a greyhound called Shanon and she is very loveable and playful.

If i ever had the chance to adopt a greyhound i would because all the want is to be loved. They won't find it on the race track. A shame what there owners do to those poor doggies.

  • Awh =] i've got 2 rescued ex racing hounds, (brother and sister) they're adorable and love them to bits.

  • I own 1 German shepherd, 1 Great Dane, and 2 Greyhounds! such good dogs! I want a third but I don't have enough money to take care of it :( so I am going to wait to get a new car so I can have another!

  • You own four dogs, but want a third? And having a car will give you enough money for another dog?

  • @SaviourSole I have 4 dogs yes which 2 of them are Greyhounds. I want a third greyhound. and I am going to keep my old crap car for a while longer so I can afford my third greyhound. I am not rich.

  • i have adopted a greyhound abuot 4 years ago they only need an hour, half an hour in the morning half in the after noon and a big sofa for them! Adopt one.

  • owning any size greyhound is a good decision

  • I think so to. My grey hound although she isn't an itailien greyhound she is small for norm sized greyhound. Funny thing is people think she is a big whippet and i'm just like no she's a greyhound lol.

  • The greyhound at 0:17 looks exactly like my greyhound lily.

  • i used to want a small dog but now im definitly getting a greyhound because there cute they are playfull and most greyhounds dont get adopted oh yea i also subsribes and rated 5stars

  • Do it adopt a greyhound. They rock.

  • @ erehgregrhegrhegr Exactly. Our 3 yr old male is the best dog I have ever had. Greyhounds do rock! I have had many breeds and mutts. None of them can hold a candle to our Tyler. We love him.

  • Tyler.. cute name lol

  • i have a fawn one and he is adorable and he love to sleep on somones lap but he is big close to 100 but he is spoild and only 3 bt that was in june when he got weighed so he loss weight but this video is cute!

    8D

  • I have one,she is brindle. Her name is Skyy

  • my greyhound is huge hes 86 lbs and his name is ww royal doc

  • My daughter has adopted one, he is nine years old and absolutely adorable. I have always been more of a cat lover until now, but these dogs are absolutely amazing - with such a peaceful spirit. I want one too.

  • Aww i think its great that your daughter adopted one that is getting a bit.

  • Wonderful!!!

  • I adopted mine from a shelter. Iff you've ever heard the phrase 'you don't adopt them, they adopt you'..it was VERY true in his case.

  • Thank you all so much for your wonderful, beautiful and loving comments. A little history behind this video is that I was attending a leadership conference for work and had to do a "persuasive" speech at the end of the 2 weeks. I decided to do it on persuading people to adopt Greyhounds and created this video from pics of my girls and my daughter. The fawn in the video, Flecka, is now gone at the tender age of 5 - but we have rescued another in her memory. What beautiful and loving friends.

  • only wish i could adopt one

  • Beautiful, happy, loving faces... I saw this video many times, I am surprised to see that I had not commented on it yet. Thank you SAVEGREYHOUNDS for sharing this great video! It reminds me that when I first saw it, I had not yet rescued my own beautiful long-legged angel... Impossible to imagine my life without her now! I have met many greyhounds now and their families: every dog is loving, gentle and every proud "parent" cannot say enough nice things about their wonderful dog!

  • More racers have come in, and I've decided to adopt. I cannot emphasis how beautiful, loyal, gentle and caring these dogs are. All dogs are great, but really, you CANNOT compare a grey to any other breed. When you look into those big soulful eyes, you see exactly what a greyhound is all about: Peace, Love, Trust and Loyalty.

  • Brilliant video ....great pics of the most beautiful dogs in the world ....tony(savegreyhounds)

  • Great song!

I might be getting a little greyhound pup. Wanted an ex racer, butthey all got adopted! In the end, It's better this way.

  • Oh Hell yes. :) My ex-racer died several years ago and now its just me and the old iggy. Thinking about another. GREYHOUDS ARE THE BEST. :)

  • So cute! I adopted my Greyhound Lila from Greyhound Friends of NJ. They are amazing dogs! She LOVES kids and is so lazy. She's the best.

  • I adopted my grey 3 years ago, I cannot fathom living the rest of my life without at least one of these noble animals allowing me to take care of her/him.

  • My friend owns 10 greyhounds.

  • So sweet! What are their names? I have a black one with a white tuxedo named Scotty. We love him so much!

  • i adopted 2 greyhounds, i cant imagine why people from spain do such a things

  • Excuse me, I'm spanish, and I've adopted a greyhound.

Specify, why do HUNTERS, and RACERS do such things?

Most of us wouldn't hurt an animal. A good 80% is against bullfights.

The people from Spain do nothing. Bad people ALL over the world do bad things.

  • I see pictures from spain ..

Sorry that is say that, not all spain people do such a things

  • No problem.

It's hard having a grey, because you have to keep an eye on him all the time. There are many bad people, thieves, that steal the dogs for illegal races.

Fortunately we have many organizations for the wellfare of animals, like El REfugio, or SOSGalgos, that are working hard to make the government change the laws, and prohibit dog hunting.

But how to fight against something that's already illegal? (galgo races are illegal in Spain).

  • great vid..i wish i had the space to adopt one of these gentle giants....love em!

  • I adopted my greyhound Penny from the Dogs Trust in January. She's now my best friend.

  • im getting a grayhound in a few months from a friend imgoing to name it serina

  • I have carpet all over my house just for my greyhound's safety....good vid..thanks for sharing

  • Lov the vid . id lov a grey hound , if i could get one i would get a pup then if all is well id adopt loads and loads ( If i could ) . how many walks do they need and for how long . please say .

  • Most of them don't need more than two twenty minute walks a day, they're really low maintenance in that respect. My greyhound Penny wouldn't even have those if she had her way, she'd just lounge about the house. It's good if you've got a garden they can run in a bit though, because it does do them good to stretch their legs. You can't let them loose in public normally because they have little or no recall and if they saw a squirrel or something you'd never see them again. Hope this helps.

  • Excellent video showing what fantastic family pets greyhounds make - they are loving, loyal, undemanding : )

  • GREYHOUNDS ROCK!!

  • i love grayhounds. but its their long noses..i dont like em because unless i clip the gate with something they can use their long noses and open the gate but other wise i love the noses :)

  • My grey hound died about a month ago. He was 11 and a half. He was at the top of our stairs and and slipped at the top and fell down.

  • Comment removed

  • Dude are you phukn kidding me? Videos hold shit that would make "you" cringe if you didn't feel those words were appropriate. It's the interweb not neopets....and even there it'd be okay to "discuss" such events.

  • OMFG... Dude... that is freaky, I adopted a Greyhound and he was the EXSACT same age as me with the same personality, then when we got homw one night, he slipped down the stairs and had to be put to sleep 2 days later, but both of our Greyhounds died the same way. Creepy. I feel your pain. Im sorry.

  • my greyhound is barely 2,we adopted her about 6 months ago,she never raced, got a few scars on her,not sure what happened with her, shes the most affectionate dog ever,we had another one before her but she died from a massive organ failure at 5,we'd loe another one but we got a jack russel as well, its a full house!

  • At what age are greyhounds usually adopted?

  • It really depends on how long they race. My oldest raced until 4, my baby didn't cut it and we adopted her at 2. So it really depends ... :)

  • I adopted my first greyhound last year..It was probably the smartest thing I ever did in my life, I'm even thinking about getting another one!

  • Wonderful video- gorgeous kids (human and furry)

We have just adopted our first greyhound (I say first -because they are like potato chips- I know we won't be able to stop at just one!)

  • greyhounds are the most loving dogs in the world. I would love a greyhound :)

  • . even more surprising! later i found the skinniest little lurcher too! he was not so well behaved, i think he was a bit scared and would walk along beside me like the greyhound but he was still a gentle thing. clearly they had been hanging about together and were very pleased to be reunited, but i had to call the rspca and have them taken to be looked after by them, i've tried so hard to get a dog... i'm just not allowed untill i move out :(

  • i found a stray greyhound. i would have given anything to keep him, he was the sweetest thing!! pooor boy had mange all on his legs and sore paws, i only noticed him because he nearly got hit by the bus i was on! i got off and found him trying to get into a hotel and everyone was frightened of him because he was so big and clearly a stray, but i just walked right up to him and he sat down put his head against my legs and let me tie my scarf around his collar

  • LOL @ :49 - exact reason why i call my dog big nose :P He always gets excited when i call him that though ^_^

  • I met a greyhound while competing with my horse few weeks back, and It was the sweetest dog I've ever met! Including my own! Now the only dog I'd even think of getting is a greyhound!

  • We just adopted one about a month ago--I already can't imagine life without her!

  • I have adopted a greyhound this year. He is my world! I am going to adopt one more maybe in the future. You get so attached to them, and all they have in return are kisses and love/.

  • Great video! We have adopted two greyhounds and love them so much... I hope your video convinces more people to save these wonderful dogs.

  • Had a big brindle named "Apollo". He loved our kids and they loved him. They would ride on him, use him for a pillow or just snuggle up and watch cartoons all day.....he was happier than a pig in poop. All he ever asked for was a bit of love. One of the coolest animals I have ever owned....and I've had a few in my 46 years. RIP big fella!!

  • I love it! My Grey is so good with kids and I think people need to know that. Its not often you see photos of them with small children. They are wonderful family pets. GO GREY !

  • Gosh, I wish I could adopt one. I can remember a friend of mine in college having 3 and they were the sweetest dogs!

  • I have a greyhound. I've never regretted it at all. They are the most loving dogs in the world.

  • Absolutely superb dogs! I want one!

  • great, thinking about one for myself. seems like they like to sleep alot do they require aot of exercise?

  • We have 2 rescue greyhounds and as long as they have a quick walk in the morning and evening they are happy - really they like to lie down on a soft bed and be fussed :)

  • just love this video, and the song that goes so well with it. Your greyhounds are beautiful! Keep up the good work, I try to spread the word about greyhound racing and its abuse. I pray people will wake up and ban racing of these wonderful greyhounds.

  • We now own our 2nd greyhound, we had our first for almost 10 wonderful years! How can anyone not want to welcome one of these beautiful dogs into their home? I advocate for greyhound adoption all the time...wouldn't it be wonderful if someday there were no greyhounds "discarded" by the racetracks?

  • As a proud owner of two BEAUTIFUL greyhounds and foster mom to many more I wanted to let you know how great your video is. These are the most loving dogs I have ever had and this will be the ONLY breed I will have from now on. I hope all that see you video will at least consider opening their hearts and hopefully their homes to at least one greyt grey.

  • We rescued our first greyhound 5 years ago and couldn't be more in love! What wonderful dogs they are! We volunteer within our group to express to people how greyt they are and to PLEASE resuce a greyhound. We also rescued a black lab and yellow lab. Unfortunately, our yellow lab hasn't much longer to live. When he passes, we will rescue another greyhound. They deserve a loving, caring life after all the abuse they have had...a forever home!!!

  • Wondeful!! Few people realise what wonderful companions Greyhounds make. It's a terrible sport, racing and should be banned immediately. I have 1 adopter rescue Grey, and 1 other dog, i wish I had more space to take more of these wonderful animals!

  • What beautiful babies! Including the human baby... wonderful thing you've done by adopting these pupsters.

  • Most of these dogs are Whippets just look the markings.

  • Excuse me, but they're not whippets. They are MY dogs and they are Greyhounds.

  • Apparently you do not know your dogs. They are positively greyhounds. And beautiful ones at that.

  • YOU obviously don't know what you're talking about...and never will!!!

  • If those dogs are Whippets, those children must be teeny tiny (Cabbage Patch Doll) size!

  • Having have grown up with whippets and regularly dog sat for a whippet breeder I can say these are not whippets. You can tell by the shape of the head. greyhounds have narrower heads and are more 'gangly' looking in the body.

  • @HersheyBomar that's such a stupid comment. you think she doesn't know what breed her own dogs are?

  • its a really nice video

  • this video is brilliant, what's the music track?

  • GO GREYHOUNDS

  • What a fantastic video!

  • I love greyhounds:)

  • Great vid.Beautiful dogs.

  • What a beautiful video!!! you are very lucky to own these wonderfuls and sweet greyhounds!!!! I really do admire people who care for them and of course for others dogs. Your little girl is adorable too! Congratulations, your family is really SPECIAL and FULL OF LOVE! Wishing you all the best.

  • They really are loving, affectionate and wonderful dogs

  • I agree, they are very special dogs.
