  • Dr. Anton Arcane,or to others Count Dracula, himself.

  • awesome voice disguise. he sounded like fred macmurray with hints of french and british lol

  • hes so hot

  • This wonderful actor even now in his senior years sweats class, sophistication, and cool sexy. One of my all time favorites. Thank you for posting this program. Loved it!

  • lol he is so funny

  • I love his "Waltz at Maxim's" in GIGI ("She's so gay tonight," etc. when "gay" meant something else).

  • Damn...He was HOT!

  • Handsome, suave and debonair for ninety years. Born 1921.

  • Terrific actor and very handsome. I saw him in Gigi on stage in Toronto 20 years ago and he was fabulous.

  • "a few little things give you away". it's so interesting that we instinctively know when there is a foreigner in our midsts, however well they disguise their accent, even to the extent of locating geographically their origin. I love the human mind!

  • HE IS SO CUTE.

  • I've watched everything you put up and Louis Jourdan is one of my favorite clips. His 'American' accent is priceless! jrs

  • I'm a man,and I think Louis Jourdan is terrific. If I were a woman,I'd want to have his babies.

  • OMG, Louis is one of the most underrated and one of the sexiest actors ever! I'm so happy he's still alive!

  • Every time I see him ask for Gig's hand in marriage I cry -- he was a dream!

  • Loved Mr.Louis since he played Dracula. God Bless you Sir

  • Louis Jourdan Rocks xox .

  • I think he was my first actor crush. Love "Gigi"...

  • he is so darn cute putting on the accent lolol XD

  • gosh, he was really hot...

  • Who did Lewis think he was? A French actor popular with the bobbysoxers who was married to an American actress? I'm blanking.

  • This is the era when Arlene and especially Dorothy wore masks that looked like they were made from leftover brassieres.

  • Louis Jourdan was a crack croquet player. I am looking for video of him playing, but thanks for this!

  • He did a spectacular job disguising that accent! Louis, Je t'aime!

  • Arlene was surprisinlgy close on her free guess there with the santa teacher ;p

  • He sounds like Burt Lancaster a bit in spots lol

  • I was wondering if anyone has posted a video of Louis Jourdan on WML in 1964. I don't think it's as a guest panelist but as a mystery guest for a 2nd time

  • Somewhere on YT there is a clip of Louis Jourdan on the WML panel. Wish I could remember which one it was.

  • Well I tried to post a link to one of Louis' guest panelist appearances, but it doesn't seem to have taken. Do a YouTube search on: what's my line McClellan. Senator McClellan was the mystery guest on one of Jourdan's panelist appearances - the one in 1955.

  • I know him from Octopussy- he's fantastic as Kamal Khan.

  • I wish I could find the clip where Louis Jourdan was one of the panelists.

  • Wow, up until I've checked the Wikipedia to see if he's really French, I would never thought that! Great job on that accent.

  • Actually, Louis Jourdan was born in 1921 - despite what Wikipedia says. That would make him 88 (until June 19, 2010).

    I have irrefutable proof.

  • No most websites including imdb says 1919

  • Well, feel free to believe everything you read on the internet. 'Most' websites are repeating the same bad information.

A simple perusal of his past interviews via google news would confirm 1921. Google "People Magazine Louis Jourdan" An article, from January 14, 1985, says he was, at the time, 63. A man born in June, 1921 would have been 63 in January, 1985. This repeats itself in all his interviews.

BTW, when I said 'irrefutable' proof, I meant documents by the man's own hand.

  • Louis Jourdan is still alive at the age of 90 years old

  • hey, do u have the clips of the 2 contestants that show up prior to louis jourdan? if u do, could u post it up?

  • Sorry, I think I only saved Louis' clip.

  • He disguised his French accent very well indeed! Great job!

  • I would really love to see the play - The Immoralist - because the book is one of my favorites!

  • Lol! At first, he sounds like Gary Cooper. :D

  • John slipped up here. At 3.06, Rbt Q. Lewis asked: "Are you American?", to which the answer was (indirectly stated to be) no, but Daly let Robert continue on.

  • Ohhhh, I love Louis Jourdan!

  • Charles Howard ran one of the more famous Santa Claus schools of his time. See Wikipedia.

  • Someone that the who would be very excited about?

Could someone help me with the question at 3:50 please?

  • @AAMLfan "is this someone that the 'bobbysoxers' might be very excited about?"

"Bobbysoxers" was a 1950's term for teenage girls.

Basically, Robert was asking if Mr. Jourdan's fan base was old or young.

  • @torchkit

...and whether or not he was a hottie, I'm assuming. ;)

Thanks for explaining this 50s jargon to me, torchkit! Much appreciated! :)

  • Louis Jourdan, a great person and actor

  • @schwarzeprinzessin Not to mention incredibly handsome and classy. *swoon*

  • I agree!

  • this is one of the top 3 fake accents on this show of the few hundred that i've seen. nicely done.

  • Alas, I wanted to see the segment with the man who runs the Santa Claus school.

  • Sorry, I didn't save the quiz portion--I must have been more knocked out by Dorothy's near-guess than with the Q&A at the time.

  • Excellent. To see why they were astounded at his "American voice," an astonishment I shared, see watch?v=PIJobPF6YqY . There also used to be a clip on Youtube of Gene Kelly as the mystery guest and on that occasion as well Louis Jordan was a panelist.

  • "Are you American?" - John rarely misses a chance to give a "no".

  • Yet another example of D.K.'s astonishing intuition - in regards to Mr. Howard.

  • Let's see more of that test driver!

  • I didn't save her whole segment...sometimes a lady's walk-on is more interesting than the quiz itself and that probably was the case here.

  • Wow, I (like everyone else) never would have thought that a Frenchman could sound so American - and a rather hick American at that.

  • Why don't you hear to Juliette Binoche's?

She's one of the best examples of French actresses who speak English with American accent.
