well nothing at that point, i mean once the bottom guy initiates the sweep its often too late, but the reason he has that arm there is to prevent the bottom guy from taking his back. Lets say he does pull that arm out to base out and prevent the sweep, then u just pop ur head out and take his back.

@EricMCKiller Also - the angle Galvao is using will allow him to complete the sweep anyway. The hand would plant toward the head, and Galvao would drop the opponent's hips and sweep downward (diagonal) - hard to describe, but works great.
That first sweep looked alot like whip up to plan b sweep from eddie but the thing is hes not using the lockdown or the whip up instead he brings his knee up to his elbow. I never knew that the final sweep he shows ties into that half guard series, real cool. Also that last sweep is legit, theres a youtube video of xande ribeiro using it against jacare and if its used against jacare u know it works lol.

If he lets go of the wizard from this position, he'll kick out his leg to go out the back door, and take back.

Nothing is stopping him physically, but it's a situation where either option hurts.
If the let's go of the whizzer, then you take the back.
If he holds it, then you get the sweep.
