  • Hey dude i need a favor, please can You send men This song ,i can t find it

  • @froidark no

  • lol hardy

  • @ANDREWFLASCH yea, what do you expect 3 years ago...

  • can you explain me how to install the driver on ubuntu 8.10 hardy?

    now i'm downloading it

    splease show me the way

i have the same video card ati x1950 pro (pci-e version, not agp)

  • knighttemplar6, forget it. There is no proprietary drivers for x.org version which ubuntu 10.04 is using. So, u can only use radeonhd open source driver (not rly good performance at applications that uses opengl, for example, games). You can install ubuntu 8.10, and enjoy proprietary drivers.

  • i have the ubuntu 10.4lts and i have problem with my 1950 pro if someone can assist me

  • you video does not on any time suck! this is really showing how cool compiz is!

  • Pretty damn good for your first video.... I just got Kubuntu 2 days ago and still trying to "Unlearn" Windows.

What kind of web cam are you using I am having a hard time getting mine to work in linux! :(

  • hi, can you say to me what is it the song? please

  • i did.... it's in the video description -_-

    check again...

  • Ite just päivitin myös 9.10:n.

  • Better than Windows...XD

  • Suomalaista musiikkia.

    Finnish Music.

    LoL

  • Suomalainen käyttöjärjestelmä... :)

  • Have you solve the "flickering" problem with video???

  • I stopped using the drivers cause they became worse and worse after each update, and I couldn't even run stuff under Wine without graphics corruption. So now I'm just using the Radeon driver. Horribly slow on my setup, no video acceleration either.

  • Ati support in linux is normally not that bad. I do know of people that have problems but most the time they are easy fixed. Now if you had a intel gpu id say your fucked.

  • I started using Compiz again.

Now I watch flicker free video with VLC. I had to change the output module to "X11 video output" inside the (Advanced) Preferences to get it to work,

  • One way to get flicker free video on VLC and Kaffeine is to change somewhere in the options jungle the video output to X11.

  • love it (^-^)

  • How kan i switch my Linux Designe : ( Only can do this

    /watch?v=H0rtJxk4U8A

  • I feel bound to windows because I need it for so many other things, but this looks like what all operating systems should act =(

  • @paperthinedge492

What exactly keeps you on windows?

  • great video. quick question though: how did you get the firepaint? i'm installing kubuntu at the moment using wubi. will the firepaint come already preinstalled or is it an plug-in application that i have to find?

  • It should be in the Compiz manager... needs to be activated manually.

  • I *HATE* the ATI fglrx drivers. Those boys are slow, lethargic, they just suck. I will never ever buy another ATI video card or ATI video card based laptop ever again so long as I shall live.

  • Or just use Windows XP and then you can use the graphics card to its full potential but lose on all the cool stuff Linux has to offer... :(

  • Ubuntu seems to handle ATI much better than Red Hat. Crisis averted...

  • I really appreciate the Linux distributions...Kubuntu is the most beautyful of them in my oppinion..But I'm just a starter xD

One day I'll really stop using Windows, I hate it so much @__@

  • dont forget Ultimate Edition my friend, thats the most beautiful distro yet (derived from Ubuntu, but with nice KDE and moddified vectors), imo kubuntu is at 4th place in beautiful distro's

  • What the f...

How the hell have you done to make the X1950 working on ubuntu 8.04..???

I tried everything but this fucking card won't work.. Black screen or other problems..

    Could you help me please..???

Or post the guide you follow to make it work..

    Thank you..

  • Yea, it's a b**ch to get to work!

What finally resolved black screen for me... I had 128 MB as AGP aperture size in my BIOS setup. I changed it to 512 MB (to match my video card) and Voilá, it started working!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

    You save my linux..

Have you also solved the problem with the fan speed of the card..??

    Thanks again..

  • I play my music so loud, so I don't hear any fans... :D

Is it too loud or not working well?

  • It work perfectly thanks to you..:D

But the fan speed is too high..:( This is a common problem for ati card..

    Well it isn't too loud..

But I don't konw if this could damage my card..

  • I have to ask. Which driver are you using? Did you need to make any config file changes to get the x1950pro working?

  • I edited the video info to contain the url to my Xorg.conf.
