nice shots...im a college wrestler who wants to convert into mma when schools over..taken a little bjj...but i wanna learn this speedbag thing first ...whats the best one to buy?
@Sh00t1stAskLater cagesidemma(dot)com has got a couple of nice setups, and they wont break the bank too hard. id just get the adjustable 120.00 one if it is for your home, and put some bags of playground sand (available at lowe's or home depot) on top to help it vibrate less...don't skimp on the swivel, go with the 30.00 title pro one (the one im using in this video), and that everlast elite bag is pretty good, about medium speed. lemme know how it works or if you need pointers! -soul horse
@CagesideM Hey bro I have a two station Everlast heavy bag stand with the speed bag platform. When I hit the speed bag hard and fast it makes the stand kinda start shaking. Do u have any tips.
@fightnight909 absolutely, brother. two words. sand bag. :) go to lowe's or home depot, and get a 40 lb. bag or so of playground sand (relatively cheap, less than 20.00, i bet), and just lay it on top of the speedbag platform to "eat" the vibrations. youll see how much more true the rebounds will be and how much faster it'll rebound as well. lemme know how it works out! -soul horse
@CagesideM Thank you. I will let u know. The speed bag I have right now it's for beginners its way bigger then the one on ur video. I need a smaller one kinda like urs but I don't know the difference in sizes. What size would u recommend next because the one I have I already mastered it lol.
@fightnight909 my favorite bag to bang on is a medium/small size bag (like a 6 x 9) bag. check out our site, cagesidemmadotcom, and see our own speedbag that is REAL inexpensive compared to other brands, and even higher quality. i review it on the site. tell them soul horse sent ya. :) -soul horse
@MrImontop12 practice will get you everywhere. lemme know how you progress, get some video of it, if you can, and lemme know if you have any questions. -soul horse
@msfattytrollbitch the speedbag, and all of the variations of drills on said bag, develops hand eye coordination, rhythm, timing, endurance, speed, etc. a lot of fighters just wanna wail on the heavy bag..and don't develop their precision, quick punching and control, and then wonder why they are getting "out-boxed". watch mayweather, mosely, pacquiao..all the greats use the speed bag to develop their game. hope that helps! -soul horse
@msfattytrollbitch ah, sorry, didn't understand. just another variation of control. i have a black belt in shotokan karate, and i remember one of the drills we used to do was stopping our punches/kicks one inch from the instructors nose (all hell was to pay if you hit sensei, lol). it develeped great control and precision...so i simply applied it to the speed bag for a variation. :)
