I wish YouTube was here back then all those years ago when I bought the game. I tried, so many times, but I never, NEVER got past the first jump - always crashed down and never made it to the other side. Paid a lot of money and couldn't even play the fucking thing. Am still not sure this walkthrough would help now as it seems to be all over the place.

Just installed it via DOSbox. Unfortunately there is a slight lag which I hate and a reason why I won't play it until I can get it running right without a lag. Hopefully the new release is just as good but think it will be disappointing compared to the original (just like Star Wars on Blue Ray).

Such a brilliant game! Had so much fun playing this game when it came out... unfortunately live in the UK so had to suffer the green blood 'zombie' version to start with hehe :) Apparently (according to wikipedia) there will be a new Carmageddon next year... 'Carmageddon Reincarnation' - Don't think they'll ever quite recapture the thrill of the first game as it was so groundbreaking, but look out folks!!!

You're right fuzzface100, the sequel wasn't as good. Not in its original default form. But the good news is, there are many modifications, and hundreds of add-on cars & tracks available for it. It's fairly easy to edit TWT files in Carma2 with the unpacker tool provided at many sites. It takes a while, to set it all up properly, but it's worth it, and C2 becomes a reasonable game, with all the annoying shit removed, and silly cars replaced.

But the original doesn't really need any mods at all.

@The Splat pack also rules, and unlike C2, it still captures all of the same mood and sounds of the first game, and feels exactly the same, only with different cars and tracks, and a shitload more peds. It also doesn't need any mods.

As for C2, I feel that one critical failure is it's sound effects, being a bit too tinny and glass-smashy, instead of the bass-pounding, thunderous impacts of the first game, that can be felt in one's spine, as well as heard by one's ears.

Play CARMAGEDDON loud.

@ TDR2000 has character all of it's own, and seems to be a little more faithful, to the feel of the original. More so than C2, anyway. Additional things like land mines, the BOMB, and those little helicopters make it cool. I had a lot fun re-writing scripts (fairly easy to do) and playing with the BOMB, and doing other fun things that, sometimes emerged from mistakes. (by me)

I love Police state, and that fucked-up bridge you have to cross to get there.
