It looks like Ace, but it could have been anyone in the makeup. It is the "Space Ace" character for sure. This is from "Creatures of the Night", which is the last album Ace was credited with before his official departure.

Vinnie Vincent and other studio players played on the album. They waited for another album before they announced that Ace wasn no longer with the band. It would make them look bad if they lost 2 memebers in 2 albums.

@vinnitus actually the reason they maintained the illusion that Ace was in the band so that they wouldn't rock the boat with PolyGram Records..The label they signed a multi-million dollar contract with. The contract stipulated that if Gene, Paul, or, Ace left the band. (Peter's departure was already written in so it had no effect) The contract was null and void. The jig was up when Vinnie was playing shows so the label held G&P in breach of contract and made them sign a much smaller deal.
