My son was diagnosed around the same time as your daughter..watching your video was so much like watching my son on his 1st bday with his cake..it is so interesting to me how diffrently autism effects each child but at the same time it is so much the same..thank you for sharing
This video has no sound, could not get it to work on here for some reason. Yes we are singing to her and interacting with her.
@Sueezee - I did not think she was autistic at the time, I knew there was something not right.
For the rest of the comments - I had posted this after her diagnoses so I was not diagnosing her myself. If there was sound you would hear the low grade hum she made and you would be able to see that there was no interaction, it had nothing to do with the cake
This could have been MY daughters first b day vid...shes now 25 and was NEVER autistic. This is the 5th vid i have watched of "autistic" kids and I see nothing in any of them that is different from a non autsitc child! Whats going on here????
@Sueezee1 I'm thinking the same thing, What is going on, why are all these parents thinking something is wrong with their children? Its freaking me out.
@Sueezee1 YOu are right, maybe parents are not adept and making videos that display every autistic nuance seen as THE BEGINNINGs of autism. Even a trained eye cannot tell autism from these vids alone. But please do not rush to judgement because the parents are not capturing developmental delays in 46 second vids.
She is 1!! Has she ever had a massive multi-coloured cake plopped down in front of her before? She probably doesn't know what on earth to think!!! She's hardly going to shed a joyful tear and make an acceptance speech at this age!
My son is just the same, but he's absolutely wonderful. I wouldn't change him for the world. Autistic children are a blessing, and my son has brought so much joy to my life. Good luck little Sierra xxxx

I had to check to see if my sound was off. Why isn't anyone interacting with her? Singing to her? Talking to her? Was I just not hearing it?

she is retarded and ugly

@multisnootylives1 Wow. Autism is NOT retardation. Also, this is just a baby. How could you say such mean things about a baby?

Me too, and I dont get ANY responses from the vid posters. I know I will now totally ignore them all. We can always find info elsewhere.

@noonan099 it's easy to judge when looking in from the outside.

my daughter acted that way on her first birthday, today she is 37, has 6 children, and two jobs, happily married and is not autistic.
