I hate fucking racist southern hicks. If I had been on that team when they fought with Texas, none of those racist fucks would have any fucking teeth left.
Movie moment advice observe him ago and I can ascertain that it is topping. Racist behavior of american shows and brave boy, who combats for equal entitlement for blacks of citizens of america game. My estimate 5/5 ;)
Oglądałem ten film bez napisów i wszystko dobrze rozumiałem mimo przeciętnej znajomości języka angielskiego. Moja ocena 10/10 ;)
LonghornsFootball08: You keep on complaining that Texas is being depicted poorly in this movie, but I ask you this question: How in the world can you say that the state is being depicted poorly when, in reality, Texas was truly like this back then? Even now, bigotry is still very much accepted there. If anything, the state has been poorly depicting itself long before this movie was made.
im sorry, but this movie is alot more about segregation. people are way too quick to point this out, in just any situation. The young man was the 1st african american to win the heisman, then passed away from cancer 2 years later. The movie is about Ernie Davis, not solely the segregation and racial struggles. Of course, that'll touch base, but thats not the whole aspect of Ernie Davis. Educate yourself before you go around bashing....
listen ponchoko, i am from the hometown of ernie davis and he is an absolute standing figure of honor and integrity..he has inspired so many not just in my town but all over our nation so yes hollywood is making another movie..and yes thats how great stories turn out sometimes..on the big screen..but you need to look past hollywood and understand what this movie means to so so many people
This movie is going to be incredible and I'm not asking you to like it..but please respect it
im sure the tale of ernie davis is incredible and inspiring, so all the more reason to be pissed that theyre gonna make it into this cliched gridiron tale to make lots of money off a man who'll never see it. racism still exists despite this movie
and im not from the hometown of ernie davis but that means nothing. i have every right to make comments on something from my perspective so long as im not an asshole. and i dont think ive been one.
I also think this movie will suffer from being the typical watered down, feel-good type movie that Hollywood constantly makes. I can't think of any big-budget movie made within the Hollywood system that openly, honestly and adequately addressed racism. Definitely, no Hollywood sports movie has done that. As much as I like the movie Friday Night Lights, it pulled punches when it came to addressing the blatant racism in Odessa, which the book doesn't flinch from.
awesome. another movie about segregation using sports as the bridging gap to illustate how far we've come as people. the white people and the black ppl integrate at the movies to see it and at the end the whole family is happy. im so glad hollywood hs found a formula.
"jim, make one of those black people sports racist movies so i can line my pockets with gold and be humane at the same time."
this looks like a good flick - always love gridiron movies. one of the stars, omar benson miller, has a great video here; "What Inspires Omar?" It's about the teacher who inspired him to become an actor, and it's worth a look. It's part of an education campaign I'm working on with Intel, called Inspired by Education. It's a nice collection of some pretty neat stories on the power and importance of inspiration in education.

We need to stay focused! The times haven't changed completely. White america still feels this way. They just say it in the privacy of their groups.

Well, be prepared for Texas to be poorly depicted in the movie.

Does anyone know what the song is at the end starting at 1:54?
I've heard it on several different trailers and TV spots. And it's driving me nuts.
