The thing with the iPad is you can't do anything of any worth with it. It's essentially a passive device. You know, browse the internet, play a game, read a book, read email, listen to music, watch a video etc etc.

It's a no go area as soon as you even consider doing anything remotely productive.

I am complete anti-microsoft/pro-apple but, i have to admit that i'm impressed, i definitely like the idea of the dual screens, i love the journal function that they have incorporated. I'm a microsoft fanboy but I gotta say that apple has the upper hand of the consumer market. BUT, Apple only focuses on their os's and laptops and desktops where as Microsoft has Xbox Live, Windows Live, and they even made the 360. So, Apple doesnt really branch out with their stuff. Apple made a video game console a long time ago and it was rated one of the worlds worst gaming consoles ever made. So you cant really say that microsoft sucks because they are just different.

maybe it's just good that apple has the iphone and microsoft has it's tablet, although I think after the Zune HD it isn't so far away from a Zune Phone, but Taplet PC would be also great, because then people will buy from both microsoft (for tablet pc) and from apple (for the iphone)
