Blacksmithing is a hobby for me. I don't generally sell my work. Most of it is donated at guild meetings and conferences to support the guilds I belong to and help pay the blacksmiths that demonstrate at conferences.

I used a one inch solid bar because that supports the size I want my fireplace set to be. I have made these twists with 3/4 inch bar for fire tools also. If you are going to use the tools a lot... 3/4 inch is a more friendly size (forging and using).
