Only the compressor is a good add, but please keep it under the hood and don't cut a hole in it ...there a many aftermarket adapted hoods for the vettes

I believe that installing a blower supercharger is the best solution if you cannot fit your supercharger in the bonnet :p and its a lot cooler.
