I remeber they got that guy on the keyboards in, and his wife, I think, for the Peace in Our time album. Does anyone know how that came about? It always puzzled me a bit why they would want to mess with a perfect musical formula!
Stuart said that it was a "natural progression" but in hindsight, never would have done it. SHame BC never made it big here in the US. The people you're thinking of are Peter Wolf and his wife Ina. BC still are my favorite( or favourite-for your European folk!)group
Was this filmed in Germany, I wonder? Tony Butler (best bassist in the business?) is notably missing from the camera work. I was at 2 of the recent gigs - Aberdeen and Glasgow. Glasgow's gig is now my favourite gig of all time. They are amazing as a 3 piece now too. Thanks for posting this.
my god i have been talking about this move and sound track for over 20 yrs. not one soul knew what the hell i was talking about. i saw it on HBO 20 yrs ago just one time. thought i might be the only one in the world that saw it. i got to have it were can i find it in the us. deve,va usa
Huv you bin sellin any more o that nasty sugar tae me wee angus, followed by an almighty wallop that must huv stung for an age. After all these years i still cant determine whether the music makes the film or the film makes the music, all i do know is that whoever made the decision to re release the film deserves to have a statue erected in his/ her honour.
hail hail, and u huns had duran duran, shame on u pussy nuns!! listen to the history u tried to destroy, wat did u achieve? i'll tell u, the biggest army ever , with a heart like granite, rip stu
You're bigger than the Loch Ness Monster - I cannae let you go - we may never know who thet were ... now nothing can tame them - do you beleive in ghosts ? RIP Mr A
Yeah, reminds me of my youth and happy times, both film and soundtrack are fantastic. Got the DVD release last year and its still good. A true classic.
I always said this film would become a cult classic, maybe it is, I'm not sure but watch the film and listen to the music on their own merits, put them together and it works. I loved and still love Big Country because of this film though maybe others dont need the film to see their talent as I did.
good bless Stuart,he turned the Guitar into a set o bagpipes, this is OK but I recommend the album version. The restless natives soundtrack was genius the film low budget qwirky. Same sound engineer as a kid worked with George Martin on the Early Beatle albums at Abbey road.. Stuart R.I.P. Mate u truly were a shooting star.
i've got this on dvd. that was an amazing concert. the start of steeltown during this concert is amazing stuart starts playing on the guitar before the song cranks up.
Never seen this before. Nice to see some of the less well known songs. There was something special about those first two albums though. The later songs just couldn't surpass them. Steeltown was their best in my opinion.
I love it! Long live Big Country & British rock.

I love that little grin at 1:02, but it also makes me sad.

@HumGuitar --I understand that comment about the grin. He's so innocent but headed for less pleasurable times.
I also love later when he voice cracks a bit and he seems to look over at Tony to share the fun of it.
