  • Man those Japanese tanks are really ugly

  • Japanese sucked in coastal defense cause they had to many islands where you can attack from every side and the beaches wern´t that long as the germans had in France with their huge bunkers

  • Thumbs up if you are here because of CoD WaW!

  • Marines are the Honey Badgers of the US Armed Forces

  • I like war movies....

  • if the army is dropin them in front of the beach and shootin into the brush arnt they also killin their own soilders

  • Why the hell do they put stupid aussies in American war movies? (The "gunny" is Gary Sweet) I'd love to hear what they would say if someone made a movie about Gallipoli with an American cast.

  • flydfan - I will make it short and relevant : brave brave men who did extraordinary things for you and I : so we could sit comfortably at our PCs and iMacs and live under the very banner of freedom that they gave their lives so that we could make comments like this. God bless them all and shame on us if we ever forget what they did for us.

Here in the UK we remember the fallen of Wars that gave us freedom every November.

    Lest we forget.

  • @philipdundee You know it's weird that the Americans were fighting for freedom but in the USA there was the racism problem.

  • 6.08 the marines hand is still on the machine gun

  • 3:32 Think I'd rather be low crawling in that situation.

Or doing an awkward impression of an earthworm

  • Has anyone here ever masterbated to anal?

  • @TheDigMeUp

Totally relevant to the vid man

  • It is called island hopping. USA used this to get closer to Japan. USA is a smart country. USA forever.

  • 10 pepole are japanese

  • 10 people don't appreciate our veterans

  • This video is only a depiction of what happened. What really went down must have been almost beyond human comprehension. The Marines were up againest an enemy that had no plans on leaving that island upright. To bad the nukes were not developed earlier in the war. One nuke for each island would have been a good outcome.

  • @svenmega10022 Then they wouldn't be able to use the islands to take Japan itself, you realize that they captured those islands for a reason and that is to get closer and closer to Japan and evetually invade it using Okinawa as a launching base. People need to realize that battles are fought over gound not to just wipe out the enemy.

  • @AUG351 although Peliliu ended up being a giant waste because we didn't use it, tragic

  • @AlexSaysHi2013 Yes, but MacArthur plans were to recapture the Philippines, then capture Okinawa, then an attack on the Japanese mainland and needed Peleliu and Angaur to be neutralized and an airfield built to protect MacArthur's right flank. Peleliu was estimated to take only four days but lasted for two months and was thought to be lightly defended. If they new this it would have never been invaded.

  • @AUG351 and besides I don't think Marines would have pulled out if high command told them too anyway, oh the irony

  • Only people could take something as beautiful as the Pacific islands and turn it into a festering shit hole of terror. Unbelievable.

  • man this guy is lucky one!

  • this doest compare to saving private ryan

  • @yz125motorider nothing does saving private ryan is the best war movie ever

  • Comment removed

  • @yz125motorider the landing itself doesn't compare with the movie but have you seen the whole episode? I think the series are way more realistic than the movie was

  • @TheSaxophobia the landing doesnt compare, but its head to head because its still a very good movie to me

  • Ironic, that we opened (well, forced) the trade agreement to the Japanese to modernize their military arms... only to have them developed and used against us.

  • @AllTweakendLong That's American view. We were forced to deal with Western threat (unequal treaties). We had to modernize our country to defend ourselves after the US Navy appeared in Tokyo Bay in the late 19th century.

  • @fugazivicarious1 The Japanese government isolated the country to maintain control of the people. Even shipwrecked sailors risked death because they might threaten this control. The "threat" was as much chauvinistic paranoia as it was true fear of conquest. Later Japan decided to create an Asian only club; "The Greater Co-Prosperity Sphere". Japan would be in charge and membership was mandatory. Japan reaped what it sowed.

  • @twobluehorses Which Japanese government are you talking about?

  • @fugazivicarious1 The Shogunate was in power at the time Admiral Perry arrived in Japan in 1852. Emperor Meiji took control in 1867 but for all intents and purposes there was still an ultra powerful few running the country, a situation that is still in effect today. Fortunately they've learned that with a strong economy and good trade relations they can have power & money without going to war with their neighbors. And that, in a way, was what Perry's visit was about.

  • On the beach i herd a Marine yell Oorah Marines.

  • 4:57. just imagine what the japanese were thinking. just thousands of americans landing on that beach and they dont stop coming and no matter how many they cut down they just keep running through. amazing.

  • you know what i just realized? That's the kid from Jurassic park lol.

  • @dcheezy1 Oh my God! Ya know, I knew the first time I watched this great series I knew that I recognized him from somewhere, but I just could not remember where. Now I know. lol....thank you sir!

It makes sense though, considering Steven Spielberg produced the Pacific. I hear they are great friends.

  • and none of them got body armor or protection.

  • can someone please tellme wat happened to that guy at 9:28

  • @MrCleven509 he was treated for his injuries and he survived

  • @MrCleven509 he was hit with shrapnel in the leg

  • I love coming to the comments section on Youtube where everyone is a master historian and where everyone politely shares their political views. Just watch the damn video and if you have to make a comment, make it relevant.

  • @flydfan - now there's a thought.

  • @flydfan Well said.

  • @flydfan Why exactly do you care about other peoples comments in the first place..? If they wanna debate or share historical events with eachother who are you to say the cant?

  • @moOswe who are you to say that he cant say they cant?

  • @gametime42069 Im hes father.

  • @moOswe Because bickering about what the Japanese did that was inhumane or what the US did that was just as bad detracts from the purpose here. People get on here and just go "The Japs were a bunch of war criminals!" which of course is followed by "Well the Americans did bad stuff too! What about the atom bombs?!" People don't even bother to think that they weren't getting massacred on the beach for political purposes, they were just there fighting and dieing and it sucked for both sides.

  • nice movie :)

  • The number of people who argue over who was 'best' and who did most and who really won the war... is just stupid. Dumb YouTubers might argue that 'My Grandad was better than your Grandad,' but chances are they would have shaken hands and had a drink together, because they knew something about the reality of war, and you don't. So, shut up. It wasn't you who won the war, no matter what flag you wave.

  • @tSp289 AMEN... thank you! Finally someone understands.

  • The americans are pussys.. only go to war in others countrys... and they are so war horny..

  • @enginerepairguy must be an keyboard warrior

  • Someone remembers world at war?

  • America won the war for the entire world. PERIOD.

  • @B1gO Oh right, what about the rest of the Allies you idiot?

  • @berserker276

They contributed a lot to the success, Brits, Australians, Free French, Free Polish. They all did their part, but none tipped the scales of war the way 20th century America did; with it's huge industrial complex and manpower.

  • @B1gO no America did shit in the war they wouldnt have joined if Japan did bomb USA shitty harbour

  • @kkkkksksk

We really SHOULD have stayed out of that war so all you cunts would have been enslaved to the Nazis and Japanese. That would be a justified end to you cocksucker

  • I'm Canadian, and this series makes me proud that I share a border with America, all the young men that died for their country. This is what I remember Americans for, I have nothing but respect for the courage and accomplishments of your country, and would gladly follow you into a war that has a cause as noble as the pacific campaign was

  • @JuliusGulius iam dutch.. from holland europe that means. and am proud thankful and honored that allies especially canadian risk it all to liberate our country and we still recieve your country s veterans that come here every year to free it we threat them like kings.!

  • Comment removed

  • @JuliusGulius thanks buddy. even though france may not like us.... well until the germans show up at their front door... but yeah we all should unite in north america

  • @JuliusGulius Well follow you to. :)

Alot of people think canada and america hate eachother, its quite the contrary imo its like little brother and big brother, we joke with eachother but in the end we have eachothers backs.

    because americas obviously better. amirite?

    Jk youget my point

  • @JuliusGulius its sad that some americans arent as proud as you, i love my country very much and i would have fought as hard as they did

  • @Daironsmith He's Canadian lol.

  • @JuliusGulius Beautiful comment!!!!!

  • @JuliusGulius America and Canada, forever Allies.

  • @StonewallJackson26 Ahemm..

  • @berserker276 America, Britain, and Canada, forever Allies.

  • @StonewallJackson26 That's more like it.

  • @JuliusGulius Thank you, someone from another country saying their proud for what we do. Im gonna inlist in the Marines soon and it makes me proud hearing from a person from another country loving our troops.

  • @JuliusGulius thanks brother it would be an honor to follow you and your country into war also

  • @JuliusGulius Agreed. Canadian here as well.

  • @JuliusGulius Your only proud because they made a T.V series about it. For 1second do you ever think about the young russians who had to fight without a rifle on the eastern front? or the British soldiers fighting in Burma? Being proud because these people were lucky enough to get a T.V. series about them is sick! Always remember.... The real heroes in war are the ones that dont come home!

  • @Jiggaboobz Actually, my grandfather fought for Germany in world war 2 and my other grandfather fought for England, I respect all veterans equally so don't put words into my mouth, all I was saying is that I admire their patriotism

  • @Jiggaboobz I think in WWII they were all Heroes.. regardless of whether or not they fought, they still contributed and played their part. And it's funny you should mention British soldiers in Burma as my grandfather was one of them. I think the war fucked him up though.

  • @JuliusGulius Don't forget that America held off joining the war effort as long as they could. Canadians were down and dirty long before America even considered helping.

That and America hasn't been involved in a noble war since.

  • @JuliusGulius I agree! Fight along side our southern yank comrades and god save the queen!

  • I actually heard that Hitler told Mexico to invade the U.S from the South and they could have it if they won...

  • @springfield03sniper That happened in WW1. A german minister called Zimmerman sent a message to the mexican governement telling that stuff. A big mistake from them I would say because short after then U.S. declared war to Germany!

  • @FugereLongboarder wow u should know ur history fag

  • @kkkkksksk obvious troll here lol

  • @FugereLongboarder And no I wasnt trolling USA came in last. u should learn more about ur history.

  • @FugereLongboarder it funny how all armerican thing that they are better then everyone else but there country is soo bankrupt that they need to print fake money..

  • @kkkkksksk Ya know who the hell are you to say we are so bankrupt when your not even from here, so why don't you quit your American hating, because without us your nothing. And thats Obama and Bush who put us in bankruptcy. I would like to know where your from.

  • @MrConservative95 Well im from Canada.. And u now what else is funny obama is not even a american Citizen and is really name is not obama.

  • @kkkkksksk Very interesting. I like that your not one of the brainwashed average minions of Obama. Where did you get that info?

  • @MrConservative95 Wow u guys dont even now ur own president

  • @kkkkksksk Don't be a birther, and do you have any proof to back up that information? No I didn't think so.

  • So the UK fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq was for Tony Blair and Gordon Brown and not for international security/oil? Some people gotta get a grip, Germans were taught that their way was the way and Hitler conscripted many soldiers, some fought for Hitler, most fought for their families and friends.

  • it seems abit far fetched that everyone is suddenly an expert on the history of world war 2, yet most of the comments on this video are from people who weren't even born in a time to be effected by world war 2 in any way. Less experts, more people who like to learn.

  • When you see a veteran, take the time to thank him/her for their service.

  • Reminds me of Call of Duty World at War, its as bloody as this

  • @MarineSldrX not even close

  • @XxEntaroAdunxX You do now that the mission in world at war is based of this scene right, you jerk off

  • @shrector123 I know that, I was referring to "as bloody as this". Dumbass.

  • why is there a dead black guy didn't they fight together in different regiments?

  • Fucking Yellow Monkey's!

  • 3:25 I think his head got shot off

  • Man, fuck being that guy from the 7th. "Wrong part of the beach." "SHIT!"

  • that Japanese tank look like something that came out a cereal box

  • The start looked a lot like Little Resistance from Call of Duty World at War

  • @DatWeirdGuy88 That's because they both assault Peleliu.

  • I am disabled and this is the only reason I did not follow in their steps. My whole family has served their country in its time of need. I am proud to be American and I do know what freedom costs. Point being, any stupid fuck who talks shit about vets on here should do us a favor and go kill themselves. For all vets who have been disrespected I say "FUCK YOU!" or in the words of my uncle "I was in the Marines when you were still just a squirt on your daddy's leg"

  • I have a great grandfather who survived the D Day landing at Normandy AND he also helped liberate a concentration camp. Also a great-great grandfather who served in the trenches of WWI and my 2 great uncles were Marines in Vietnam, one of whom was the lone survivor of a helicopter crash and survived in a marsh for sereral days covered in leeches, and my grandfather was a Vietnam vet and Navy vet of 30 years.

  • @kiddy2686 Do you know what your great great grandfather was? Was he a US Marine or was he in the army?

  • @berserker276 I am not too sure on that one it was almost 100 years ago now and my families military records are kind of unclear going backwards after 1941. I want to say army but can't be certain.

  • @kiddy2686 Well at least you know he did something, I've no idea lol. I know that both my grandfathers' were in WWII, but I'm not sure about my great grandfathers in WWI, except one of them was deaf and couldn't join anyway.

  • @kiddy2686

I'm not sure if the US has the same policy, but where I live you can see the personal documents of persons after 70 years has gone from their death. So you can request to see their armyrecord.

  • this is my favourite battlescene of the hole pacific serie's. They really made this good look its epic with great special effects and i beleave its the longest battle of the hole series?

  • the germans have to be remembered to the fought and died for germany and not for hitler

  • @kilroywuzhere1 what do you mean? They were the cowards who allowed Hitler to take control

  • @alexchukful The simple fact is that they voted him in, yes, but please explain how that makes them cowards, or how it negates the truth in kilroywuxhere1's comment?

  • @alexchukful The germans suffered from the dept of the war and the regular german had not enough food to their family of 5+ nor any jobs. Hitler came and promised a better future along with jobs. Some people really liked him, some wanted jobs ( Hitler built the autoban which made job opportunities) and a lot of people were afraid of the communists who were close to winning over Hitlers partaj thingy. Hitler also gave really good speeches which convinced many. The Germans were desperate

  • @kilroywuzhere1 As for the americans who fought for the people of many nations, German's where pigs who are rotting in hell

  • @kilroywuzhere1 Definitely one of the best comments I've heard in a while.

  • @kilroywuzhere1

Fighting in a nazi uniform in someone else's country = fighting for Hitler.

  • @2210ethan Would you say American troops are fighting for Obama in Iraq/Afghanistan or that the US soldiers portrayed here were fighting for Roosevelt? Of course not. They were fighting for their country, just like everyone else. To make a political statement about people who were simply doing their duty is a little low. Don't you think so?

  • @Vyna80

Well, if you're governed by Nazis, 'doing your duty' is making a political statement in itself. Just as 'fighting for your country' when your country is a genocidal dictatorship, is a terrible idea. As for being 'the best fighters of the war'- sure, murderous militaristic societies are good at creating aggressive fanatics- liberal democratic societies- not so much. Hardly rocket science.

  • @2210ethan Explain to me how being in the German army in WWII is a political message, when soldiers weren't even allowed the join the Nazi party. I'm sorry, but historical facts are getting in the way of what you're saying. As for your second point, you're quite right. Much of the German military was dominated by people of Prussian descent, which was a militaristic society. It seems that you're agreeing with me that their military was better, regardless of the reasons.

  • @Vyna80

As I said- wearing the uniform of a genocidaire and invading the countries of others is a political statement, whether you voted Nazi or not (17 million did).

And yes, the military was more combat-effective pound-for-pound, but that's what a murderous fanatical militaristic society can produce- and citizen soldiers of a liberal democracy (who were not shot if they refused to join up) had a hard time beating them, but we can be thankful that they did.

  • @kilroywuzhere1 And they have to be remembered as the best fighters of the war. They killed 1.5 western allies for every man they lost. They could have easily taken on each of the western allies separately and won.

  • @kilroywuzhere1 you also have to realize that germany has a draft too and men were forced into battle

  • You ain't known no fear until you heard a real bullets fly above you.

Shit your self is not just an expession.

  • World at war copied this

  • Hey guys, just to note something... The term Americans is valid for every human being down from Tierra del Fuego, Argentina up to Alaska. And please do not forget that United States Troops fought alongside Canadians and also Mexican Air Force Strikers. Also let us not forget that Brazil and other Latin American Countries fought and helped in the war effort. America is a continent NOT A COUNTRY. Thank You

  • @DrTorresValencia yea but that saved our live cause if russian would not have gotn involved then we would hve had a bigger chance to lose the war

  • @DrTorresValencia Let'snot forget that America's effort dwarfed their efforts many times over.

  • @ChristianWarriorUSA Dwarfed who's efforts?

  • @berserker276 Latin America.

  • @ChristianWarriorUSA USA survived because of the support of many other countries. Mexico provided fuel and petroleum, Brazil supplied oil too for the allies and perhaps we were not the frontline but all the work from all the countries helped us to defeat the threat that meant Japan to all of us. It is not to note the importance of someone over another, we all were allies, we all helped each other. War is just a waste and a crime to humanity, let us hope it does not happen again...

  • @DrTorresValencia People who fought did the riskiest of all, so i would put more respect to them. But then again, its not a fucking "whos nr1 contest", its about doing what you can LOL

  • @DrTorresValencia You don't have to remind us that Canada and Mexico helped in WW2. No one thinks otherwise. What do you want a pat on the back? You sound so insecure. And yes, the United States is a country in North America. The usage of the word "American" has evolved over time. In modern English, "American" generally refers to the United States.

  • @floridafloyd1 I am not insecure, I do not have any reason for it and well I just dislike the fact that United States citizens believe they are the only "Americans", my comment was just to note that, not anything else. And I do understand the evolving of your language; however, your term is incorrect since American makes a reference to the inhabitants America, the whole continent not just the U.S. And well to note that you had a lot of support from other American countries and we were allies.

  • @DrTorresValencia Mexico saw very little combat in WW2. Only a handful of pilots.

  • @floridafloyd1 War is a thing much more complex than just the battlefield and well Latin American countries were key allies because our continent was the only one that was not under fire and L.A. countries provided the supplies needed for the world as we always have done. The thing is simple, I just wanted to note that was a War fought by everyone and actually no one won, the only loser was humanity, war is such a waste and the proof that humans have not learnt anything from history...

  • @JTWilliams74 I agree that blitzkrieg is not at all a "noob" strategy but you have to realize that Hitler lost the war the moment he broke his agreement with Russia and invaded them. The Red Army would have crushed the Germans even if we had never landed in France. The weapons and supplies we sent them did more for winning the war than our armies by a good margin. Of course that's really just semantics cause either way the war would have been lost without us.

  • @rct3fan94 That makes sense. War movies/shows almost always ignore the surprisingly high amount of accidental friendly fire that occurs in most battles.

  • for some reason this episode and the one after it always makes me thirsty as hell

  • Grandpa you brave man, you may not remember me anymore but I will remember you forever. Semper Fi

  • This series should be add at least one sniper army .

  • i believe this is wat is defined as "spawn camping" in video games

  • @berserker276 u mad bro?

  • @dentonatordude Not mad, just tired of people like you talking about video games on a video like this..

  • @berserker276 its not real though so therefore i dont take it seriously

  • I think the point was to make it real as possible. most of the people that joined the military and went to fight were young men

  • they could have got some actors that were a bit more ballsy - these shiny ass shits look like cub scouts

  • @PJ3love just like most young soldiers do...

  • @PJ3love most Marines going into the islands of the South Pacific most like did look like "shiny ass cub scouts"......at first.

  • thats true.

  • Beach landings always have so many initial casualties =[

  • This is savage!

  • In saving private ryan, pacific and BoB the best scenes are the scenes before a battle!
