  • if you've never wondered if your one of the stupid people, I have some bad news for you...

  • @aflonewolf yes bc that would have been the same. Enjoy your day.

  • With knowledge doubt increases.

  • Or he just could have said, "Ignorance is bliss."

  • @AFLoneWolf No kidding!

  • This is the most intelligent conglomerate of statements that have ever been regergitated by this genius,

  • I kind of wish I didn't find this guy's voice unbearable.

  • "From much knowledge comes much vexing, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow."

  • Ignorance is bliss

  • LOL I know whats in chicken nuggets but i still love then!

  • this cant be wight, that means happy people like me are dumb just don't beleive it......OOOOWWW KIBBLE TIME :)

  • He's a god damn genius!

  • There's a positive correlation between IQ and success in life. Those with greater financial success generally have higher IQ, the data shows that.

  • @reapfreak Correlation, not causation. "Financial success" is also totally subjective. There is no scientific measure of it. One man's idea of wealth is another man's idea of destitute poverty.

  • I'm not a big fan of Corolla, but this is filed with troof.

  • Sounds like a great idea for a book: How to Be a Little Dumb, A Little Happy, and A Little Rich by Being a Motivated Self-starter.

  • 1:08 story of my life.

  • honestly guys, this is soooo boring lol

i saw the clips of adam interviewing artie lange (not becuz of adam) but because of artie lol

artie was great and an amazing story teller but every time adam interrupted with a lame tool analogy or some stupid joke that just wasnt clever, he would literally grind HIS OWN show to a screeching halt lol

  • I bet Molly girl is no longer happy...missing an ear, blind and all effed up.

  • Dumb people are happy cos they don't know anything

  • To quote Neil Gaiman's "Sandman": "She said we all not only could know everything. We do. We just tell ourselves we don't to make it all bearable....I said, if they do that, why do they keep wandering around and falling down manholes and tripping on banana skins? Why does it seem like none of us -- Endless or mortal, ghost of god -- knows what we're doing...She said everyone knows everything. We just pretend to ourselves we don't. I never knew what to make of that."

  • Holy shit, I agree with every single thing he's saying, about "personal momentum", and how the highest intelligence is more of an obstacle to "bravado" and making money, and vice-versa... Except for the conclusion though, I hold intelligence in high regard and wouldn't wish for my child to be dumb, even "a little". I think that's a terrible mindset to spread.

  • I would settle for dumb and rich

  • Adam's got some good points.

  • Charisma and energy are often mistaken for intelligence. This is why so many politicians get in office. They don't have to be smart. They just have to convince the public they are.

  • @newcoyote You just described 90% of all the people in all the leadership roles in the entire world. Everyone from the Mcdonald's shift manager all the way to the CEO's of the largest corporations in the world.

  • stupid rich and happy is a utopia... Brad pitt

  • Life is like a hot-dog. You can enjoy it, but only if you're completely and blissfully unaware of what it actually contains.

  • Hemingway said this as well. "The rarest thing I know of is happiness in intelligent people."

  • true. So what's the explanation for dumb people who are miserable?

  • @moonlightkisu They have bad luck as well :3

  • I got a luger with one bullet in the closet somewhere, I'M A GENIUS!

  • story of my life here, lol

  • watch?v=hLZseWU9Z-E

  • I like how everyone, or almost everyone listening to this, thinks this is them.

  • @YahIDontKnow YES!

  • @YahIDontKnow thats because we're all miserable and up our own asses.

  • @YahIDontKnow He isn't talking about you morons, I can assure you.

  • @omgrapist

Your user name is omgrapist. My username might be yahidontknow; but I know enough to know your a fuckin' idiot.

  • @YahIDontKnow hahaha where is this anger from? Take your repressed rape memories and complain to someone else you dumb faggot.

  • @YahIDontKnow you are *incredibly* dense. I was basically reiterating what you said and you got angry. Holy shit you are dumb.

  • Does anyone know what episode this was featured in. Thanks.

  • @xso61673 yeah, not a genius like you

  • @xso61673 RETARD!

  • @xso61673 Yes, CLEARY.

  • your all domb

  • @LemonPieLoL you're*

  • @mazer95 ding!

  • Howard Hughes shot out.

  • im the smartest one here and yet still dumb enough to leave this comment.

    it really is a burden

  • @thisgame2 What does that even mean? are you some kind of narcissist? I'm just asking..

  • That's what the whole " Garden of Eden " thing was about Once Adam& Eve, munched from the tree of Knowledge......"BOOM" Party is over. Eye's wide shut , had it made and never knew it until it was over Ignorance is of a particular nature, because once dispelled it is impossible to reestabilish it

  • Think of Marvin the robot from Hitchhiker's Guide.

  • I had wondered why this guy dissapeared after the man show. He was way funnier then jimmy kimmel. Now I know its cuz he is smart.

  • @ace1122tw way funnier than jimmy kimmel for sure.

  • Ya I know what you mean. I'm way smarter than everyone. Probably the wisest man you'll ever meet, but I live in my parents basement. When will people realize how great I am?

  • @Metalcupcakes Self Help 101: the greatness in you, LOL.

  • "It is pleasing to human vanity to believe that one suffers because of one's virtue." -James Allen

  • If you're one of the few people who are smart AND driven to succeed you do really well.

  • @canucksfan95

Many if not most people who are smart have a completely different idea of success than those who are not. You almost have to be stupid for monetary success because there are things far more interesting smart people would rather spend their time doing. If you are smart and lucky enough to find a profession you actually enjoy which doesn't dull your intellectuality and challenges you in the way you need to be challenged, than consider yourself one of the very lucky few.

  • @canucksfan94 I think smart people are driven when they are young, you have all that energy and it shouldn't be wasted.

  • :( It's true, I have an IQ of 172 and it's really hard to stay positive.

  • @BradBallanger

    Lol LIar

  • @BradBallanger wow, thats a fucking high IQ, do you have a science degree?

  • Yeah...agreed agreed agreed. Though cliche, "ignorance is bliss" is still so true. What's that lyric from that Gnarls Barkley song? "But it wasn't because I didn't know enough; I just knew too much"

  • haha i love the hotdog metaphor -- spot on

  • The problem is not intelligence but lack of sense of direction and too much spare time on your hands. If you're having too much spare time you run the risk of getting yourself down, simply because there is always something that can get you there if you don't direct your thoughts in a productive direction.

Just read a few comments here on YouTube - most of those reasonably smart guys who write comment after comment, simply lack direction in their lives or they wouldn't waste it that way.

  • this guy is terrible... just talking about his opinion on a generalisation. .. great

  • So fucking true! This is why I'm a miserable cunt, just wish I could make fucking money.

  • i suffer from too much awareness and intelligence as well, dead on adam. however i'd rather be smart and in my position currently than a well adjusted societal dumbass.

  • hahahaha..intelligence you have NONE, misery you have LOTS adam "the joke of TV hosting" carolla...goofball!

  • He kind of missed out on the "luck" part of being successful, but otherwise, I'd say he's right about intelligence and misery.

  • Aye, @DarkLordCallMeDickC

We'd have you in the manual labor pits probably digging out metal ore.

  • Of course smart people are not happy when they see douchebags like Adam Corolla making money by just being a grown ass man who acts like a frat kid. If smart people ruled the world the dumb people would be put where they belong.

  • Ignorance is bliss knowledge is sorrow

  • Why cant Adam have a real show on TV?? He's so damn smart and ppl need to hear him.

  • But why watch Adam when you can watch Jersey Shore?

  • Adam is not smart. He is for torture. He is against helping others. He is a total dbag.

  • @DarkLordCallMeDickC Citation needed.

  • @DarkLordCallMeDickC It is possible to be intelligent while still having absurd beliefs. Isaac Newton is one of the most intelligent people that ever lived and he was an alchemist and spiritualist. Joseph Priestley, who discovered oxygen, was a Unitarian.

The fact that Adam supports abhorrent practices like torture doesn't mean he is "a total dbag" and being a dbag in the first place doesn't mean you are unintelligent. Chris Langan is a giant douche but has one of the highest IQs in the world.

  • @TheRedneckdragon

I watched him fill in on Jim Rome is burning.

I don't think TV is for him. His looks are ok, but he seems awkward on screen and his mouth moves funny when he talks.

He is definitely awesome on the radio.

  • @TheRedneckdragon

I agree. I'm very surprised that Adam's TV shows didn't last. He's hilarious, brilliant, and has a lot of energy. And you're right, he does need to be heard because he's one of the few people in the public eye that actually has the balls to speak his mind.

  • @TheRedneckdragon ...a real show on TV?? I guess its not a real show unless its on TV huh!!

  • @TheRedneckdragon he had a show on television. Remember the man show? there you go.

  • @TheRedneckdragon Because you aren't allowed to talk about ideas on TV, just little sound bites of bullshit between commercials.

  • @TheRedneckdragon I don't think he'd really want a show on TV, way too restrictive.

  • @TheRedneckdragon I don't think it's smart so much as just raw highest level of common sense.

  • Haha, this is hilarious.

  • Half intelligent is much worse than properly intelligent.. A completely intelligent guy can see through the shit life is and is content.

    Azzy

  • Listen, there are things that are pleasant to think about, and things that are not. You choosing not think about those things that are unpleasant may be a smart decision, but it will leave you with a limited and less accurate understanding of reality. Besides that, you're doubly stupid if you think it isn't lonely on the outskirts of the bell curve. Where people literally do not have the ability to comprehend what you are thinking. "Properly Intelligent?" Go fuck yourself.

  • Furquat

    You completely missed the point.

A fully intelligent person knows exactly what reality is.

  • @azzy314159 kinda like when someone says streetsmart, the ability to tell a lier or smell bullshit.

  • There was an episode of Radio Lab that dealt with this. College surveys and research found that the self aware and contemplative were categorically more depressed than the blissfully ignorant. It showed a point where people can overthink things and be too withdrawn, while people who lie to themselves and say "I'm the best" would perform better at sports and have less depression. They linked awareness with feeling shitty.

  • smart people that think about things too much become depressed. thinking too much isn't necessarily a sign of intelligence though. it's more of a neurosis. i think intelligent people that are able to not ruminate but instead exist in the moment while at the same time keeping the future in check are the true geniuses.

I'm trying to go more from the former to the latter, but it's a tough racket.

  • I LOVE ADAM

  • Adam is right. Rich people don't think about the consequences of their actions, just the results they get. If you're a stockbroker, you might be ripping people off hourly with your cold-call sales, and making tons of money hocking stocks that are tanking and destroying these people's lives, but hey, that's not your job and you don't know anything but selling. Selective ignorance is key in this society to smile as you kill your prey.

  • Amen brother.

  • religious ppl are what make me sad :(

  • Why?

  • they replace reason, evidence, logic and science with faith and imagination. they start wars and treat other ppl horribly because they think thats what their god commands. they cut ppl's heads of while screaming "allha akbar" which pretty much means "god is great" the whole time rational ppl are shaking their heads cuz theyknow that god isnt real and that guy murdered someone for no reason at all other then his irrationality. its bronze age bullshit and ppl still worship for some reason

  • Maybe, though I tend to think if something occurs in nature then it occurs for a reason. If people believe in a god or gods then their brains must be that way for some natural reason. Plus, I suppose it isn't all bad, what they do. Some religious people do a lot of good to balance it out.

  • i think humans wouls do good regardless...just like we would behave badly regardless. religion gives ppl a reason to be maniac. not ony does it give them a motive but other religious pl support it. religion does far more harm then good. ppl need to out grow it and be good for goodness sake.

  • Perhaps, perhaps not. Unfortunately, nobody can really say for sure one way or the other because it all becomes hypotheticals and endless debate. What I can be sure of is that being upset about it is wasted emotion because it won't be changing in yours or my lifetime. That I am sure of. That was actually my real point too: why let it bother you and make you upset? I wish I was living in an age where I could visit other planets but sadly I was born to early. It is what it is.

  • i would love to just not be bothered by what i c and hear, but it doesnt work like that. ppl have a a desire to make the world better or at least what they consider better. go on google and tye in truthtube then type in beheadings i now its rediculously grosse and ur probably thinking "who the hell would want to watch that crap?", but to be honest i am curious of the world and of other ppl within it. when i see a 12 year old buy cutting off a mans head while yelling "allah akbar!" i tend to care

  • Fair enough, there is some pretty terrible evil out there. Some truly horrible people. That said, if I were you, I'd be more angry about the condition of the reigon than the religion. True, the religion doesn't help but something I have noticed is that the more desperate and horrible a part of the world is, the more violent and terrible people treat eachother there. I try to give to charity where I can. This is an issue I think can actually be fixed and maybe fixed in our lifetime. Hopefully.

  • thanks alot for the video, i feel much better now

  • Jeez... I think this could explain a lot of things in my life....

  • This talk reminded me of the diagram Lisa Simpson showed her dad in one episode.
