  • Well I Don't Talk On The Phone Much.

But I Still Need Minutes And It'll be a Waste of Money to get

Unlimited Talk when i don't Talk On the Phone Much,

But i Do Text a Lot and go on the Web.

    What would you recommend?!

  • Thanks for uploading this important Sprint Palm Pre webinar .

  • Verizon always limits you more then what Sprint does... Look what they did for the Fuze/Pro... lol its a joke.

As far as these "simply everything" plans... its bullshit. I have "unlimited data" and all that jazz, but they are telling me that it is not compatible. Data is data... what kinda bullshit.

  • lmfao to everyone who thinks the pre is going to verizon, fucking idiots

  • Um, are u really that dumb or did u leave ur comment just to get a response. It is "Official" that Verizon Wireless will get the Pre in 6-8 months. There is no exclusivity period for Sprint, Verizon has higher specs for phone which means it takes longer for them to get it but that phone will be more solid; longer battery life, more color choices, larger memory, & hopefully will not crash like the 1's that were released for sprint. I agree 100% with AvoidSprint

  • Okay, anyone that thinks it's a good idea to stay with Sprint or to try them out for the Palm Pre PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY FAVORITE VIDEOS.... Don't use them for your own sanity. Verizon Wireless will have the Palm Pre in 6 months & it will have all the upgrades, possible sd slot more internal memory longer battery life more color options & a cheaper price to give competition to Iphone 3G which is now only $99.99. AVOIDSPRINT!!!!!

  • Ok so I went to Sprint store & they informed me I can't keep my older (grandfathered plan) even though there is unlimited data. So we all know what that means, right?!? I'm leaving Sprint and all 6 lines I have & I personally will make it a point to tell everyone I know & meet not to deal with or leave sprint. I will be getting the new Iphone 3G S Goodbye Sprint, only regret I have now is not leaving this piss poor company a long time ago.

  • Are you kidding? If there is a more hated cell carrier than Sprint, it would be AT&T. Sprint's 3tg coverage makes AT&T look like 1995. Cost? Are you kidding. AT&T sure isn't gonna honor your $10/month data plan from SPrint. You'll be paying a $30/iphone tax on each one and have 0 option to teather and need to spend $99 for non-backround operating navigation.

Basically for unlimited everything AT&T will cost you $130 and Sprint $99 so explain how you will save money?

  • FYI, everyone (including Sprint) Verizon Wireless (A much better company with customer service & coverage) will be having the Palm Pre in 6 months. It will probably have different colors & upgrades such as longer battery life which is already a known issue with current Sprint Pre. I'm going to Sprint store today for Pre release and if they don't allow me to keep my plan (which has unlim data already) then I'm canceling & so should all of you. We are the customers & our happiness matters.

  • how much is the upgrade for this phone?

  • still cheaper than att lol.

  • This is for everbody saying they have to upgrade to new data plan form an old data plan, when getting the palm. When u get the Palm Pre you will be using maybe 10 times as much data as you would be with your old data plan and phone. It would make sense for Sprint to chagre you more for the new data plan. Ever think of that.

  • Data is Data, I work in the industry & have always had PDA's with always on data. That isn't it and I would have to ask where you even came up with that? No Sprint video here ever stated it uses more data than let's say a HTC Mogul with always on data. They are simply herding customers like cattle to new plans to boost revenue and simplify billing. So, I respectfully disagree with your statement Rino....

  • I'm on an old plan which includes 250 mins for $29.99 and I have added an unlimited data plan and txt messaging for an additional $12.50...so I pay about $40/month and the number of minutes work for me. Are they saying that if I upgrade to the Pre, I'll have to upgrade my plan which will include more minutes than I need and pay almost double? That's ridiculous!

  • I'm hoping they clarify this because if this is a fact then they are doing their long time customers a disservice. We should all ban them if they do this. They are stressing you need an unlimited data plan with this phone & I already have it so I see no need to change my current call plan which I am very happy with. What phone you select should never dictate what call plan you should be on. Did you get that Sprint?

  • I sure hope so too because if that's the case, I'm leaving Sprint as soon as the Iphone 4G comes out and I wouldn't care if I have to pay more for AT&T!

  • True, I'd leave in a heartbeat. Tomorrow is the release date for the Pre & we should make sure they have a record number of cancellations if they try hanging on to the B.S. notion that you have to be tied to a call plan when you select certain phones. I have unlimited data already and my current plan fits me well; I am not switching for the Pre I'd rather cancel. Sprint never responded to my request for them to post video clarifying this so they dropped the ball again.

  • Right on!

  • They made this video for the public just like all the others they have, but this 1 isn't clear so of-course they should clarify for the public, their customers, & me. Is that broken down into small enough pieces for you to swallow now or do you need a spoon full of sugar with that? You might not care because it doesn't pertain to you & that's fine so do it movin and watch another dumb nissan video clip "NERD"!

  • Who cares if you need the everything plan. The phone looks sweet. I have the Instinct right now and I have the $99.99 everything plan. It is so much easier than having to worry if I am going to get charged for anything bla, bla, bla, the plan is worth every penny and if you have it you don't need to worry about anything with this phone. The I phone is already being outdated with phones like this one and the newer blackberry curves.

  • You guys should address this issue in a Q&A vid so we have definitive answer b4 Pre release. Will people with data plans be forced to go to SE plan? It would help if you forwarded that video to everyone in the company since 3 customer care agents gave me different info. 1 said yes you need to go to one of the S.E. plans, another said my account would be fine since I have unlim data, and the last 1 didn't know & xfered my call to telesales without asking permission to hold or xfer?

  • i don't understand. if i have unlimited text, pics, internet, etc, etc. why is not going to work if i don't have the unlimited data plan???

  • Bcuz Sprint is full of idiots. What happened to give the customers what they want? If I gotta have 1 of them B.S. plans then they are gonna force me to just go to the Iphone. You know Apple is announcing a new Iphone 2 days after Pre comes out. This is just another way to herd their customers to new pricing & give their older customers that have been with them forever the middle finger. I have a old plan that has unlim everything & 500 mins & it's great but they said I can't have pre on it?

  • So you are upset because you have an unlimited data/text plan with 500 minutes, and you'll be forced into the exact same plan with a 50 minute difference? We aren't talking night and day here.

Also, several of the core services of this phone rely on data. Many of the phone's services (contacts, address books, etc) wouldn't work properly without a data connection, so forcing a data plan is necessary.

  • Okay obviously you must be a idiot that works for them. It's not the "exact" same plan. I have a grandfathered plan with unlimited everything so forcing me to new pricing & saying it's bcuz of needing unlim data is stupid bcuz I already have unlim data. The newer plan would cost me more money monthly (and that is it besides loosing 50 mins monthly). Do you understand what I'm trying to get across now?

  • well i have everything message plan plus i also pay extra for unlimited data, but don't have the plan they want per say... so i don't think it should be a problem, they just want you to have unlimited data...

but I'm with you, if they are going to make me change my plan, i prefer to change company... is sad cuz ive been with Sprint almost 10 years...

they finally get a new good phone and they will force to change your plan??? i don't think so!

  • I agree 100% A device should have nothing to do with the call plan. This is clear cut case of company & stock holders first, and the paying customers last. I will do my best to have everyone I know and everyone I meet leave Sprint if this is the case. There is nothing wrong with saying you need a data plan, but forcing everyone that already has a data plan to a whole new call plan to get more $ out of us is just rude. Sprint you are now on notice. Please do the right thing...

  • If a customer doesn't already have an unlimited data package on their plan then I would agree that you must upgrade to a plan that does and currently the SE plans are the only ones that provide that.

However, if you've already got that in your current plan, then why in the world change your plan when all is done, the only difference would be a name change on your contract? I don't think you are understanding the gripe here mr. Please take a deep breath and read what everyone is projecting.

  • I'm sure people will be able to keep hold of their plans as long as it has unlimited data. The best thing I would think to do is instead of ordering online, call and talk to a high representative if the original customer service won't allow this to happen. If they 100% won't let you keep your plans, then that is total BS and I would (and many, many customers) would leave Sprint, but they probably already thought of that. They are probably talking about new Sprint customers in the video anyway.

  • so i signed up for the simply everything 450 plan, and then all the sudden it changed the Everything Data 450

  • same here

  • If your on a budget then Sprint is for you.

The Pre is weak against the iPhone in all aspects except the camera and I do soo much professional photography from my phone.... The Pre is as good as it gets from Sprint that much I agree on. Too bad (for the Pre), the software upgrade for the iPhone comes out this this summer addressing biggest complaints - landscape texting and pic texting.

Pre can only text from keyboard. Brand new and already behind the curve. That's Sprint 4 ya ;-)

  • professional photography from ur phone?? hows that plastic lens treatin ya....geez thats horrible. and ive used many touch screen keyboards (including the iphone and blackberry storm) and prefer a physical keyboard. which is a market that palm is marketing to...just cuz EVERYTHING on the phone isnt touchscreen doesnt set it back holy cow vukasika...and also in regards to ur other comment bout the running system....its not windows. good job buddy

  • lol, very nice

  • wow, i have only had my Instinct for only 4 months and i want this phone so badly! but the Instinct still is a great phone

  • All this video says to me is "blah blah blah you can't get a Pre on your SERO plan" I'm really REALLY REALLY excited about the Pre but I absolutely will not even think twice about passing it up to keep my SERO plan.

  • assumptions:

A900M has been loyal but has got to go

Pre will retail for $150 after loyalty upgrade/rebate

cost includes phone ... (x%) represents increase from keeping my A900M

    2 YR COST OF:

    Upgrading to Treo 755p (SERO) = $820 (14%)

    Upgrading to a Pre (EPRP) = $1590 (121%)

Upgrading both SERO lines to Pre (EPRP-Family) = $2940 (308%)

We all know even EPRP is cheaper than an iPhone or android on a different carrier so I did not include those as Sprint service = good in PDX, OR

  • lol, too much Pre on me brain ... yes ... palmOS ... wishfully thinking to rationalize saving money by NOT upgrading my SERO plan.

  • Same bullsh*t as at&t, that's why I passed on the iphone (that was really hard to do). Trying to hype up the cellphones of all cellphones, and make you spend way more money on pricing plans to get it. Iphones pricing plans are a big rip off, and now spring is trying to do the same thing.

  • wait so my sero 500 minute $30 plan will need to be "upgraded" to a 450 minute $70 Everything plan just to use the pre? Sounds like a great deal. Shouldn't I wait for the 3rd gen iphone to see how it compares before I pay that much more for a plan?

  • You will pay more for the AT&T iPhone plan if you configure it to match the features of the everything plan.

If you want a webOS phone on SERO get a treo 755p

  • I agree with with you that ATT will cost a heck of a lot more for a similar plan, probably at least an extra $30 a month for the 450 min plan which I would get. I'll probably stick with Sprint and pay the extra money if the Pre is a really good phone.

However, what you said about webOS on a 755p is ridiculous. PalmOS, you mean? And no, TealOS doesn't count.

  • My Treo 755m is breaking down while I wait for the PRE. I almost canceled and got an iphone yesterday. Now I am thinking of getting the new IPHONE this summer since Palm cant release this thing. Very frustrating paying $160 for sh*tty phones a month right now. We need to jumb ship if they cant release this phone REAL SOON. Too much hype!

  • Jumped ship after 10 years with Sprint to iPhone about 4 months ago. No regrets. Did it cost more, yes However, after 10 years of Sprint always having the crappiest phones, I was willing to pay for quality.

  • Big oops! on your part. The Pre is going to be so much better than the iPhone.

  • Yeah right and that's exactly why stock analysts are today telling folks who own Palm stock to sell now before the overhyped Pre turd hits market.

Look I dont have anything against Palm. The Palm TX was handsdown a better piece of equipment than any Pocket PC. The problem that the Pre cannot overcome is its Windows operating system. Windows Mobile platform is terrible. If Palm had kept its own operating system I think the Pre would have had a change instead of being DOA.

  • pre is not a windows phone..it uses webos..kinda like the treo software, but better..do the research for yourself!

  • lol funny thing is - Sprint representative told me it was Windows. Bottom line the webOS is still a hail mary. Treo's suck, you can have mine. The Golden Age of Palm is done. RIMM and Apple nailed the coffin shut a while back.

  • My Palm treo 755m is breaking down while I wait for the PRE. I was thinking of going to the iphone since its taking so damn long to release. Sprint users need to jump ship if they are gonna keep delaying! I spend around $160 a month for crap right now waiting.

  • Does it have yahoo messaging?

  • I just got the Rant, not being sure when the Pre would be coming out. In a year or two it will be cheaper if it's still around, assuming it launches.

  • SPRINT MARKETERS! Get your legal crap over with so you can RELEASE the damn Phone. WE ARE LOOSING INTEREST!

  • Yep...that's what happened when At&t just recently kept delaying the blackberry bold...why don't they learn from mistakes?

  • how much will it cost

  • I DONT KNOW but i want to know if its going to cost like 400 or something??

  • it won't

they're tryin to be better than the iphone

so its gonna be under 200 bucks

  • ughh! i really hope it comes out soon! :)

  • Release the damn thing already!! By the time Pre is out iPhone will send Palm back to the drawing board.

  • I AGREE! I am beginning to loose interest.

  • Somebody told me at sprint yesterday it will be out at the end of may

  • Does anyone know how much the Palm® Pre is? Because i really want one but i need to know how much it is thank you!

  • Palm and Sprint have really dropped the ball on the release of this phone. They never gave a solid tentative release date and they are doing a horrible job of keeping you updated of progress. If this phone is going to save Sprint and Palm they need to get it out! I was going to switch back to Sprint for this phone now I am not even sure it exists! If they were not close to being ready to release they should of held off showing it to us. It is hurting them more by making us wait.

  • yes but then again they should take their time on working out the kinks so the phone doesnt become a disappointment like the blackberry storm

  • Listen to :35 he talks about how the lowest you would pay monthly is $69. So that means you can't keep your current unlimited data plan even though towards the end of the video they talk about just needing unlimited data. I hope I'm wrong though...

  • this reassures that my family plan with unlimited data will be ok, and i wont need a new plan. im happy

  • i'm also happy, palm pre here i come.
